I'm a local resident and honestly have never had a good or smooth experience at this location, even when I only have one simple item to drop off. The store is extremely small, usually understaffed, and there are only two registers and one self-service kiosk. The kiosk becomes overwhelmed with customers sorting through bags of returns, looking up codes, and printing labels, which creates constant backups. I have personally waited more than 15 minutes just to use the kiosk alone. The register line is just as bad, with long waits and lines frequently extending outside the store. On one visit I had to stand and carry a heavy item the entire time while waiting in line. Overall wait times are consistently 15 minutes or more every single time I have come here. This location clearly needs better staffing, additional kiosks, or a much better system for handling returns. read more

The lady seemed really nice and asked if she could repackage it for me to save me some money by putting it in a smaller box, didn't mention she was going to charge me money to do that, but then charged me $15 for packaging it and admitted it didn't actually save me any money in the end. It was already in a small box. Shady. My 13 year old had to pay $57 to ship 2 playing cards. Just wait for USPS to be open. read more

I have used this business several times, mostly as they are the Amazon Return location for Merritt Island Florida. My negative impression of this business to begin with were based on the hostility & aggressive attitudes I personally experienced from the service agents & witnessed to other patrons while waiting in line for assistance. My impressions of negativity in service provision has changed a bit through the observations made during my last experience at this location which left me with a slightly different view of all. So my review is from not only the negative experiences? But a personal idea of why this store is rated so low, as from the ratings? One would wonder why such a place would be as consistently frequented in use if all was so terrible, & being the local Amazon return location is most definitely why. I wonder if the staff has gone into the Amazon returns & taken a look at the directions provided on the site. The returns are clearly directed to this specific location (if residence is located on island) along with the instructions to pretty much do nothing other than bring the item (free of any boxing or shipping material) & the return number or a printed copy that contains a bar code to be scanned by customer service at this location & that's all the person returning is instructed to provide. Leaving the rest solely up to the employee. Just a thought in conflict resolve between employee & customer as I think there could be a lack in understanding of what directions are provided to format a return. The system used within the store seems to be in need of some sort of update/upgrade, as the entirety of use for any service was halted when it "locked down", causing more hostile vibes than prior. No transactions of any type were available, including the reason I had waited over a half an hour. A stamp purchase was what had brought me in that specific day, & personal observation seemed to note that the mixture of customers had other requests in addition to the Amazon returns. The dissatisfaction vibe was growing and although I was at the register after my wait? No transactions were available and judging by the employee at the second registers screaming into a communicational exchange regarding the systems suddenly going down? This was not going to be solved without time consuming measures. So? I dipped out, choosing to head directly to the other Mail Stop Shoppe across the parking lot and was in/out in five (5) minutes. Shockingly easy experience over a very complicated process that clearly did not need to be so. Since that day, other than Amazon returns which restrict my abilities to take elsewhere? Elsewhere is where I have taken my mail stop needs. Again, through the parking lot and across the road is a lovely store, run by a extremely well dispositioned gentleman, and have yet to encounter any of the ineffectiveness, the hostility, & general unhappy vibes this location exudes. And yet every time my Amazon returns call my presence within this location? It' is flourishing, congested with the overflowing hostility filled chaos that seems the norm there. I can only imagine how difficult it is to strive for providing a smooth customer request, if the technology provided is lacking. I honestly don't see the problem being in hires as suggested in others experiences noted here? I believe the problem is with the lack of replacement or upgrade in the system, as it is clearly not able to handle the enormity of daily transactions. If I may suggest the next time a bad experience is held here? Instead of complaining in store about an employees performance? Try complaining to Amazon directly, as in choice of providing the contract to one who seemingly enjoys the benifits that allows? But unwilling to purchase a system capable of handling a fluid experience of daily business in addition to the returns? Perhaps the threat of not being allowed to continue might cause a change needed to allow a happy employee, as well as a satisfied customer. Any employee is only as productive as the professionalism in both training & the performance of needed equipment allows. And one who s not called to change? Most likely will continue, as clearly as the lack of frustration free exchanges seem to show. read more

THIEFS! I have sent back several Amazon returns from this store and 2 of my items within the last year have been stolen! The items were scanned but then never packaged and sent. They get busy and say they are going to package it for you and you can leave and then never do! Luckily it isn't any large dollar items and I'm only out about $25. Thankfully Amazon is very easy to deal with and takes care of it, but this store is full of rude employees, people that steal and terrible service. I would find another way to start returning items instead of using this store in the future or make sure you stay and demand that they package the item in front of you, attach the label and add it to the bin. Outstanding service: I brought two Amazon return items to the Merritt Island store (#4143) on 11/07/2024 between noon and 1 p.m. Store traffic was light, and I was helped immediately and cheerfully. The service agent recognized that I had the QR code for only one item. I said I would go home and try to solve the problem, but the service agent took it upon herself to run down the reason I hadn't been able to obtain the second code. She quickly and courteously helped me sign back into Amazon on my phone, locate the item, reregister the return, change the drop-off location from Staples (Amazon's default) to UPS 4143, and secure the second QR code. Her actions of detection and technical remedy far exceed mine, and her initiative ensured me the best possible outcome, which I could not achieve on my own: a successful drop-off in a single trip. She only took a few minutes, but this service agent made my day. Thank you. read more

I have had to come here multiple times and every time I'm met with absolute hostility and anger almost like the workers are mad at me for showing up to their place of business. I am careful to read return instructions on anything I buy online to make sure I'm following them. I think there must be a miscommunication somewhere along the lines. Today I brought in some returns that clearly read they did not need to be packaged and that all I needed was the QR code. I then was told I had to purchase a mailer for $8 and then the woman says "let me guess. You're using a card. I'm going to have to charge additional service fees for you" I'm sorry. That's ridiculous. The item pretty much cost that much and I should have just left. They refused to take my item without it so I was left with no choice. Either these companies that work together need to be on the same page, or something needs to be done. Either way, an attitude adjustment is needed for sure. It may have been your 50th person to come in with the same problem, but it was clear in the instructions what was expected of me. Please learn how to treat people that use your business. I had a bad experience at this UPS store several years ago. There were three customers waiting for services while a man who I assumed was the representative was on a call on a cell phone. Another customer came in, stood next to the first customer and asked for his mail. The employee, without getting off his phone, went and got this man's mail. Not once did the employee apologize for the delay nor assist us four waiting! I went to the Fed Ex instead. I told myself it would be a cold day in hell if I ever went back. This morning I was at the store to return one item to Zappos through Amazon Prime. I entered the store at 8:02am. A woman ahead of me had four packages but she had to retrieve the rest from her car(I'm guessing she had over ten when she returned) I went to go to the counter and the female employee said she had to wait on the woman because she was FIRST. I showed her my package and label. It takes about 5 minutes to process mine. I left the store while the so called first customer was still unloading her stuff from car. Poor customer service and poor management. FIVE MINUTES! I will not go here again. I will use another store or is this how you run all your businesses? I am in my 70s and standing around for no good reason doesn't look like good management. And if this is how things are during regular business hours and not the holiday rush, sad. read more

Every package received is always broken or in some way damaged - obviously they take little care with package handling.

My reason for this review is not because of the UPS services. I went in earlier to drop off an overnight prepaid envelope from a different business. I walked into the person behind the counter arguing with a customer, and then after said customer ahead of me left, the workers opened her box and then started talking about throwing out her box in the trash because she didn't have the correct shipping label. In my opinion, if I hadn't gotten the receipt showing my documents were going to make it back to their destination, I probably wouldn't have continued with my business and went to a different location. read more

I was lucky enough to enter this store with only one person ahead of me. I had a huge painting to ship across the country. The gals that were there worked as a team giving me a shipping price quote and boxing up my art work together until another customer arrived. The one gal finished up the packing and rang me up. The other gal served the steady line of arriving customers. I noted how kind and courteous they were to each incoming person. I paid the shipping fee and I also made a separate purchase of some greeting cards (funny and priced right) at a discount because I was asked if I was an AARP member. That was very thoughtful. It was a busy Saturday that was managed well by 2 workers manning the store who consistently seemed to make customer service their priority. read more

I did not realize that my wife gave me a post office label so I went to UPS where I Always go and David Quickly updated me and told me I would have to buy tape for my label because he would not make any money off of me. Hahaha. Little did he know I ALWAYS used to use UPS for my shipping needs! I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN A UPS STORE AGAIN SO YES DAVID NOW YOU WILL NOT MAKE ANY MONEY OFF OF ME EVER AGAIN!!! I have been using this store for over a year now to occasionally drop off packages. Staff has always been helpful & friendly. However, I was absolutely shocked today to be charged $4.07 to have two black & white labels printed. Both 8.5 x 11 on regular copy paper. I get businesses need to make money and I'm all about supporting our local businesses, but charging this much for two print outs? I see that as price gauging. Lessons learned here...Don't assume everyone prices fairly. Read the small sign with pricing info BEHIND you when your standing at the counter & don't let your home printer run out of ink. read more

Needed to drop a return package off and chose UPS for it's normally convenient and hassle-free service. I couldn't have been more wrong about this store. The sign in the window says the business opens at 0800. So I called the store and the VM message stated the place opens at 0830. As I sit here writing this review, it's 0913 and I watched several people attempt to drop packages off and their reactions to the storre not being open yet are priceless! Never use this store. A package I shipped through this UPS store made it to its destination without the contents. UPS said it was not properly packed, funny because the UPS store actually packed it for me. The store then tried to blame me because I didn't pay for extra packing material??? Then they made a claim on the package without me being aware. Then they said they found the bat and would re ship. After two weeks, package was never received. Called the store back and they said they have no shipping number and had no further information on the bat. Called UPS and they said they paid the claim to UPS store. What??? This is the most unprofessional retailer I've ever delt with, no to mention totally incapable of handling packages which what they do. read more

I've been to this location several times over the years and never had a desirable experience except once or twice. Just attempting to drop off a package that is completely ready to go is extremely difficult because when the location's hours say they open at 8:30AM (the UPS website claims 8AM) it really means closer to 9AM or later. Whenever I didn't have anything ready for drop off and had to converse with someone they've acted as if my very presence was a massive inconvenience. I really do not like coming here but unfortunately there aren't any other UPS alternatives that are closer. read more

The store has recently been purchased. The service provided is not good at all. I do not recommend you use this store. Find a different UPS store or used FEDEX--places that will treat you like a customer. I have been a loyal customer bringing in the store a lot of money. During my last visit, the manager (or he may be the new owner) taped up a box and said the charge will be $1.00. I was shocked. I said to him "Taping boxes used to be at no charge." He replied "There's now a charge." I then said to him that I would no longer frequent his store and that I brought in a large amount of business. His reply "This is the new policy." I then said "Well I won't be back, and you're losing a large customer." His reponse was "Thank you!!!" I walked out the door in shock. BTW, the 2 photos below on the left are outdated. Check with AARP and yes they are on it. The time before was refused a receipt for a return package, left and went to Rockledge location. The older man made snide remarks about my son not knowing how to label the package properly. Here was an opportunity to teach a younger person and instead he has caused the store to lose a customer! Stay away from this store. They do a bait and switch . They quoted $75 to $100 to pack and mail. Even sold us a box for $20 and wanted to finalize sale first and then afterwards said it would be $200 to mail . So a total of $300 to pack and ship. If there was a rating of zero stars we would rate it that way. Felt like we were dealing with a loan shark. To add- we went down the street to the Fed Ex store on 520, and they did pack AND ship for $79. What is wrong with this picture??? EXCELLENT Customer Service !! Friendly Staff!! We went there for both notary service and to drop a couple of packages off. Tommy greeted us very cordially and asked how he could help. The notary (Bhavin) was on the phone at the time so I worked with Tommy to get my two packages sent off - returns with postage paid, but they were not sealed or taped up, etc. Tommy prompt gave me my receipt to prove the items were being returned and not only taped the one package he totally packed the second package that was an item and the label pages inside a small box. It had to have two labels attached to it. No complaints and no costs for this extra service. I had a bunch of letters to mail too and he quickly took care of those. I've been to a UPS Store in Palm Bay that not only would not take letters, she was going to charge me for taping the label on one box. She said it was a dollar per strip of tape. What can I say other than the worst customer service experience I have had in a long time! I came in around 30 minutes before they close and the gentlemen working you could tell really did not want to deal with anyone else for the day. My husband and I had a rather unique shipping situation where we needed a paid return label for a passport, I had detailed instructions of how it had to be handled from the passport agency. Long story short they said sorry can't do that and talked to me as if I was completely ignorant. We marched down the road to the FedEx store and had it handled with fantastic customer service within 20 minutes. Never will I try and use this UPS location in Merritt Island again. read more

I had one great experience and one terrible one. I'll start with the worst one which was yesterday. I will start by saying I am an elderly woman and am not savvy about cell phones and especially wi-fi. I took an item to be returned to Amazon with the instructions and the code. Unfortunately, my phone showed that I was 'offline' so I asked for assistance. The man told me to try going outside to see if that helped. It did not. I asked if there he could help me in anyway, since I live 8 miles from the store. He said, "Nope." I picked up my item and left feeling very frustrated. As I walked to the door, he said, in a mocking voice, "Have a good day." NOW for the good experience. This had happened before when a young lady was there. She spent probably 10 minutes trying to find what would work, and she did. I don't know her name, but that was the best experience I had there. (There were 3 employees there, so nobody suffered for those 10 minutes.) read more
