Worst experience of in-person customer discrimination (towards myself) that I have ever experienced while attempting to have a document notoraized: -Store employee lectured me when I arrived inside, (my goal was to notorize my prepared document that I had printed) that I did not have a State of North Carolina template for her/staff at the UPS store to use to notarize the document. -The woman was very hostile while she presented me with an example of a State of North Carolina template that was laminated behind the counter, with the word "SAMPLE" written in marker at the top of the document. -The woman did not have any copies of this document at the branch location and was very aggressive towards me that I would need to return with this template in order to have my prepared document notarized at this UPS branch. -I returned to my office nearby and printed a State of NC notary template from the web, I made additional copies in a folder and returned to this UPS store. -When I returned, I gave the woman the folder with the additional copies: explaining that I am a professional buisness woman and neding to return to my office to print this template took time away from my work day and my career. I am a social worker in the community and I spend my time making a difference. -The woman did not want to keep the folder with the copies at the store. I did not take it back after this hostile experience and hope it will help other members of my community in the future. -At this time, I had another hostile interaction with this same woman: this time she directly resufest to notorize my document. -She herslef read the document that I had printed, which was a travel document for my toddler daughter who will be flying domestically with her paternal grandparents this weekend. -The UPS store woman refused to notarize my document after personally analyzing the content of my document in a very harsh manner: she refused to notarize because I had also put my husband's name at the top of the document and he was not there with me. -I had listeded ONLY my name and my contact information at the bottom of the document: and this is where I was asking to have the notary stamp placed. I had put both parents' names at the top of the document to match my daughter's birth certificate which will be accompanying the document at boarding for my daughter's identification. -My name is "Patricia Serino", my husband's name is "Francis Sancez Bianes"; I feel that our names were discriminated against in this process as she read them and then refused to notarize the document. -This blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman was so decisively aggressive against deniying me services at this UPS store, not once but TWICE! -I am a social worker in the community who would like to be able to return to this location and use this store without ever feeling discriminated against, due to physical appearance (wearing my hair naturally curly and without make-up at the time), gender, or having an ethnically diverse name: I feel that all of these factors may have entered this UPS employee's mind and caused her to explicitly deny my notary. This woman's attitude is an example of the regional discrimination that Burke county is known for having towards outsiders. However, UPS is a national chain and I will be copying this review absolutely anywhere possible on the web, and also printing it out for the store manager. read more

Sent an overnight night package for $320. They didnt send it out until the next day. So, it arrived on the third day. It was their fault. They will not refund the money. I think that's called stealing. They have the necessary information. read more

After checking the hours you are open on sat and seeing you are open till 4, I drove from hickory to your morganton store to find that the doors was locked and the open sign was NOT on. I wouldnt even used this UPS store to mail this package back if it was not required by company I bought the item from. This store in morganton is the closest store to me and with the price of gas being so high, I cant afford to drive to another location. But thanks to your undependable staff, I still ended up driving to a store that was not open. Who ever the manager is at this store should have came in to work to be sure his staff actually showed up if they are that undependable or is the manager also undependable???? AVOID THIS STORE if you can. This is actually my second review since somehow they were about to take my original post down along with other negative reviews for the past year. Anyway, last month I stopped in to check on my mailbox and renew if needed. Of course, they do not notify you of a pending renewal. Too lazy of course. I was trying to get my box renewed, however this rude, hateful heavy-set blonde woman told me it was due in September and they are not obligated to notify people. I asked if they could just go ahead a renew? She said very hatefully and rudely "you need to open a brand new account!" What? Why, you have all my info already, just renew it. Box was still available. Anyway I kept asking about just renewing and she got irate with me and screamed in front of everyone (customers & all) for me to "GET OUT OF MY STORE"!! Every time I go in there its the same thing rude and hateful atmosphere. These people are a perfect example of lowest level of customer service. BEWARE! read more

I despise having to go to this store. Maybe I was spoiled by my other store in Mooresville that knows what customer service is. I sell on Amazon and drop off my prepaid boxes here. They are about 25-30 lbs each. The obvious most efficient way of doing this is using their hand truck. I put all the labels facing the same way and go out of my way to make it the easiest I can for the staff. At the mooresville location, they have a super high volume of customers and have 3+ hand trucks available for customers to use. So generally, I walk into the store and politely ask to use their hand truck. There are 2 rude members of staff and the rest are wonderful. Unfortunately, the two rude staff members are what I believe to be the owner and the manager. Everytime I ask the female who I believe is a manager (and also someone I've read other negative reviews about) for the hand truck, she makes sure to act completely annoyed and inconvenienced and says sure- let me go empty it. So to avoid this, I decided to just bring my own hand truck. When I did that, the nice employees that were working that day told me I didn't need to do that,I was more than welcome to use theirs. I usually have 6-12 boxes so it makes sense to put it directly on their cart so they can roll it to the back and offload it. I basically do 90% of the work and all they have to do is scan them in and unload it in the back rather than me bringing the boxes in one by one and them having to weigh them, put them on the ground behind them, then move them later. I went in today and got the same reaction from the same girl. While I was waiting on her to get the hand truck, one of the friendly staff members came up front to make sure I was being helped. I told her yes thank you, the other staff member is grabbing me the cart even though I think she is annoyed by my asking. The nice staff member replied letting me know they aren't technically supposed to let customers use their hand truck per store policy. Ah, ok. Well I didn't know that! So now I don't know if I'm supposed to bring my own cart in or if that's against store policy as well. I mean, I have a boot on my foot right now because it's fractured but I could carry in the next load one by one like I've done before. I don't think it matters which way I do it, the girl is just annoyed at life in general and always has a bad attitude and the owner allows it because he isn't very friendly either. It's a lose/lose situation. I thought it was just me being a business owner my whole life and understanding the value of good customer service. However, I've had other people drop off boxes for me and my sister- who is the least judgmental person I know and does not like conflict- mentioned she really doesn't like dropping off boxes there because they make her feel like she has inconvenienced their lives just by existing. I feel the same way. Anytime I have to deal with either of the two people mentioned above- I leave feeling like crap. At the Mooresville store, they were so awesome I bought tons of supplies from them (knowing I was overpaying a bit but wanting to support them because most stores are franchises) and for Christmas I brought all of the staff members gift bags with goodies and gift cards inside. It sucks that 2 people can ruin this entire location. I am thankful for the other staff members who are super nice!! Unfortunately, I looked at the maps before writing this review and they are the closest store by several miles. Otherwise I would avoid them altogether. I will most likely keep having other people take my boxes there just to avoid the attitude because I have to bite my tongue every time I get the rudeness. It's unnecessary and a terrible way to run a business. To the nice staff members- good on you for being nice regardless of having rude managers!!! I know it's hard to keep a positive attitude when you are surrounded by negativity. read more

I came for the notary and some copies. One older man, balding and younger man with dark hair where behind the counter. I was treated with rudeness as if I was invading their space. Abrupt, stiff body language and no smile or "how are you today?' When I asked for the owners name, I had to ask twice to get it. In the past, I excused their cold behavior because there were many customers in the store. But today I was the only one. How people like this keep their jobs is beyond me. I will not come back for more. I'll drive to the Lenoir UPS store, where customers are not second class. read more

We are not a corp. store so we don't know where it is." I cannot say enough how pleased I am with the packing services with this store. I had to ship some exceeding large and fragile porcelain and glass antique items from my grandmother's home in Morganton to my home in Hawaii. I was very nervous things would arrive broken-- but I was very pleased when I got my boxes! All the items were very, very carefully wrapped and packed and there was absolutely no damage, which is amazing considering that some of the items were statuary with fine, tiny pieces that could have easily broken off. Thank you UPS Store Morganton, for getting some beloved family treasures safely to me on an over 5,000 mile journey! read more

Went to The UPS Store @ 104 N Green St, Morganton, NC yesterday to mail a package. This same package had been mailed 2x prior between a vendor and myself so I knew exactly what the cost to ship would be, or so I thought. He told me the cost would be $58 higher than the previous two shipments. I told him that couldn't be correct. Basically, told me if I didn't like it I could go elsewhere. No problem!!! Took it to the local Staples and they shipped it for the expected amount via UPS. Hummmm....sounds like price gouging at this UPS Store. I asked him for the owners information prior to leaving and he hesitated then gave me the general store card which has the email that he checks. I didn't get his name because he didn't have a name tag visable, otherwise I would put his name in this post. read more

Bought a very heavy and expensive antique from a friend in NC who shipped the item to me in Missouri from this store. Their Pack and Ship guarantee is only a guarantee of heartache and disappointment. The 55 pound unit was packaged in bubble wrap with extra space in a thin UPS box with not enough of the packing. The unit was severely damaged when it arrived. I spoke to the store manager, Jason, who was very short with me on the phone saying "What do you want?? Just tell me what you want??" Well, I want my money back? There was no apology for the negligence of his employee or his store's work. The item was clearly damaged due to bad packaging. I had to send in pictures to the corporate UPS Store, make multiple calls and nearly two months after receiving my item I finally received a refund for the packing and the shipping. Take your needs to Staples or the Hickory UPS Store. Chris, the manager is extremely rude and seems to enjoy that about himself. He was overly, out of his way rude to not only myself, but to the three customers I'm aware he assisted during my visit. In fact, one lady in front of me waited on me to apologize on his behalf saying, "Don't take it personal, he was rude to me, and the elderly couple in front of me." When I called back to get his name, he replied as if he was proud of his behavior, "Yes, Chris, it was 100% me." This type of behavior is unacceptable in customer service. read more

I used to love going to this location but the guy they had over the christmas time was really rude. i hope he's not there permanently. He had a real "I know better and you're an idiot" type attitude, whereas the others have always been very helpful and calm...not seeming like if you don't do it their way they are going to belittle you. Which he did to me in front of all the customers. If he's there on my next visit, i probably won't be back. He's a schmuck who needs an attitude adjustment. Sorry, UPS. I used to use this store weekly to drop off my Amazon FBA packages. They treat you like a criminal in there. I just picked up a print job from there for some cards and paper. The cards were not all the same size. Rob was extremely rude in front of other customers. I picked up a partial order the week before. He had to call "Chris" to see how much it was. Then he charged me for what I had already picked up. He had to call "Chris" again. All the while I was showing him my receipt on my phone. He said he didn't want to see my receipt. I still feel like I was overcharged. I don't know where these folks are from, maybe someplace with unlimited customers. This is a small town and this business is going out of business one customer at a time. I see there are no good yelp reviews for them here. Its really too bad because I would use them more if they just didn't talk so mean to their customers. Negative one star. ALL I WANTED WAS AN APOLOGY FROM AN EMPLOYEE. Up until this month we (my wife & I)have been a customer of this store since it opened 2 years ago. We are also small business owners in the same neighborhood. The store had a new employee that accused me of trying to steal my OWN tape gun that I had taken into the store to tape up my packages with. I had left it in the store and went back to get it and then this employee came rushing out to my car and asked, in a VERY ACCUSING tone, if I had taken the store's tape gun, which to me is accusing me of stealing. This crawled all over me so I went to my wife's business two blocks away and picked her up and we both went back to see the manager, Pat Davis, to express our displeasure with this employee but Ms. Davis was not there for the day. THEN we were BOTH treated even worse by this employee and told by her that the store didn't need customers like us and asked us to leave the store. IT IS A SAD DAY WHEN YOU DON'T CONSIDER YOUR BUSINESS CUSTOMERS OF ANY MORE IMPORTANCE TO YOU THAN ALLOWING YOUR EMPLOYEE TO TREAT A CUSTOMER IN ANY MANNER OTHER THAN WITH RESPECT AND COURTESY AND NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR BAD ACTIONS. We BOTH spoke the next morning with the manager and she was VERY apologetic and promised to speak with the owner of the store and that she or the owner would call us back. Well...NO CALL BACK after two weeks. It's obvious that this store and manager DO NOT CARE much about their customer base to allow actions like this of an employee to go unchallenged. We strongly suggest that anyone wanting to access a UPS Store in Morganton, N.C. to go to the one at Staples. read more
