This is an Amazon designated pick up location. Now they are charging my recipient $5 per delivery! Amazon prime is FREE SHIPPING. A male employee came out and no smile, no hello- just a wave over. I went to put down my PREPAID label and he said it's $2 for them to print the label. I've had to print something here in color before, used their notary services, and shipped MANY things from this location. I'm not sure how it compares in terms or actual amenities but the staff here is absolutely incredible. They've helped me ensure that I have things packed to send most efficiently for me and my recipients, they help me when I get flustered about not bringing all the supplies, and are just so kind, professional, and fast. We needed to ship some matted artwork and our neighborhood frame shop suggested we have it packed at the UPS Store. On top of shipping and insurance, we paid extra for a specialized box, and for professional packing. We got neither. The artwork was slid into a 12x12x12 shipping box that was not assembled, simply left flat. They taped the edges, put a 'fragile' sticker on one side, and sent it off. It arrived with one edge sliced open and with a crease where it was bent in transit and the contents damaged. When we showed photos of the results to an employee, he stated that it's hard to bend cardboard but that anything can be bent if you try hard enough, ignoring the fact that the box they used was pre-bent in 12 places, for being assembled into a cube. We were instructed to contact the corporate office for putting through an insurance claim. Start to finish, our experience here was dreadful. read more

I've been meaning to leave this review for a week or so now. I want to say that I am plagued mostly by sheer confusion. Not anger; not disappointment. Just good old-fashioned WTF!? It has been a pattern of mine to walk to The UPS Store and drop off my UPS packages as part of my online business for over a year now. UPS prices are cheaper than USPS for big items, so I prefer UPS in order to better accommodate them. Usually, my trips to the UPS Store are monotonous, simple, and no frills. However, my most recent venture has left me in a striking state of bewilderment. I walk into the store, headphones on whilst talking to a client, and I simply drop off a package that is ready to go by placing it on the counter with a few other boxes. (My usual routine.) I am heading out of the store, and I hear a voice yell at me, "Sir, what are you doing? We can't take that." I had to pause my conversation with my client for something that should be routine. I respond, "What? I'm just dropping a package off." The package is sealed with a UPS label already paid for attached to it; I thought all there was left to do was deliver it to the hub and find later in the day that it has made its way onto a truck. The guy behind the counter replied mockingly, "You can't do that. You'll have to take care of it at the station." I said, "What? Can I not drop off packages anymore?" And he goes, "There's been some changes made around here." I left in a huff. I mean what is the point of having a UPS store if you can't even DROP OFF A PACKAGE without interaction. Fortunately, I hunted down a UPS delivery truck on my stroll back to my house. The driver was very friendly, and he took my package from me with no complaint. The guy who comes off to be the owner or manager of the store is incredibly rude. I've been "helped" by this man twice now. The first time I encountered him, I went in to return my Amazon package. On Amazon, it says that I don't have to put the item in any kind of package. Which was great and convenient. After scanning the QR code he asked if I had a package to put the item in and I told him no because it said I didn't need one. He told me that I should still bring one and it doesn't matter what it says online because they don't have any packages to put it in. Not my problem. That's an issue they need to bring up to Amazon. The second time I encountered him was today. He didn't give me gripe about not having a package but was again extremely rude. I only go to this location because it's 5 minutes away from my house. Customer service here is usually fine, if a bit cold, but be aware that they will lock the doors several minutes before they close and ignore you from inside. While I understand that it's frustrating to deal with customers at the very end of the day, it's super irritating and unprofessional of them to close before their posted times. Especially when you just need to pick up a package, rushed across town after work to get it, and it's only being held there because the driver was "unable" to deliver it for no explainable reason. I dread coming here. Typically I'll need to stop by to return an Amazon package. Which used to be fine because I'd have to pack & label ahead of time so I'd just drop it by real quick. But now, Amazon changed it to make it easier, and says you just have to show a QR code, and specifically says no box needed. Which should be no problem, but every time I seem to get some cranky dude who walks away from me (even with no line) when I go to pull up the code because it takes a couple seconds (I even text the codes to myself to make it quicker but it's still not fast enough for him). Or he tells me I need to go home and box it -- even though Amazon says that's not necessary. Oh, and I've also been told that I shouldn't have boxed it. So *shrug* read more

This has been a learning curve for me. I needed a digital photo for a foreign visa. When I went in I explained that I had been dealing with the foreign visa company for two weeks sending in several scanned photos and none were accepted. I said I needed an emailed photo directly from the camera. I was told that they could not do that but they used high resolution paper so scanning it would work. I am not very computer knowledgeable so I said OK. Well, the passport company did not accept it as it was not a true digital photo. Lesson learned, don't let anyone pass off a scanned photo as a digital photo. The visa company I am working with processes visas for several countries. Digital photos are going to become more in demand as more countries go to e-visa so make sure you go to a place that will email you a photo directly from the source ( camera). read more

I have been to this UPS store dozens of times. Its on my normal commute route so it is definitely convenient but that isn't really enough for a 5 star is it. The staff here has always been very friendly, respectful and competent. I have never had even a little problem with these professionals. Seriously. At this point, I go out of my way to use this store even if it adds to my trip time. Last time I was here right before Christmas, they were dog busy and the place was full of people but the squad here was efficient and professional. I had a big honking package to ship and they handled it like the pros they are. So at this point they are batting 1.000 with me. (that's a thousand) Also, I like the neighborhood. I have no feedback about the employees, but our experience with this store and UPS customer service has been awful. We sent a passport and cash to an embassy in LA (cash was required by embassy for visa fee), and when it arrived at the embassy, the passport and money were gone and a few pages of the forms remained. We insured it for $200 at the store and were required to tell the clerk what it contained. Clearly, the money and passport were stolen by someone in the UPS system. When we contacted the store and UPS customer service, we were given the run around for weeks (told to file a claim, told it was closed because no one followed up, told to contact the store again, etc). In the meantime, we had to file an express application for a new passport, at an additional expense of $300 more and considerable stress. Our insurance amount still has not been returned, and the entire process has cost $500 (original passport fees, $100 cash stolen, $300 to get a new passport). I will never use UPS again! read more

This place used to be fantastic, but is now horrible under new management. I had a mailbox there and have seen the decline since the new manager arrived. They've lost or stolen packages where the tracking says "delivered to mailroom". Every time I went to pick up packages from my mailbox, there's a line around the corner and it takes about 30 minutes to get my packages. It's not practical when you have to pick up packages everyday. There never used to be a line and all the employees used to take such good care of their mailbox holders. I closed my mailbox and opened a new one at the postal annex down the street. I requested for my mail to be forwarded to my new address. A package went to my address at UPS today and said it was delivered to the mailroom. I went to pick it up or see if they actually forwarded it. At first they said they returned it to the sender. I was like what?! I asked y'all to forward my mail. Then they pulled out my paperwork and pointed at the section that is label "for office use only" and I pointed at the section where I filled it out properly - Forward Mail. Then they were like - oh, it must be here then. Then they searched around for it and said that usps must not have delivered it. I waited around for the USPS driver to arrive and he was like - "yeah, they gave that package back to me and said to return it to sender." They obviously knew that they returned my package to sender and lied about it. When I called them out on it they said "too bad - there's nothing you can do about it". They are required to forward mail for at least six months if it's requested, but they are refusing to. It's been a huge headache and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. There's no way for me to know what they are returning to sender or keeping or trashing or what. There's no accountability and they obviously have no problem blatantly lying to their customers. Now I have to see what kind of legal actions I can take with the hope of getting the mail that they are withholding or returning to sender without my approval. DO NOT GET A MAILBOX HERE! read more

After having a PO Box there for almost 6 years, last year the owner sold the business. Every employee has since quit due to new owner. He is by all means very unprofessional. When dealing with him I can see why. He is rude, dismissive, arrogant and has no problem blaming everyone else for his inability to deal with problems. The store is a mess, they are the most expensive UPS store for box rentals in the area and all in all just a bad example of a bad place to do business. I came to the store after going to my bank. My bank wouldn't notarize a last will and testament, but the UPS store would. My witnesses and I were greeted and directed to a table where the notary set up. He was incredibly helpful and patient. I have been really nervous about getting this will documented and legalized and he put me into a total calm place. He even showed me how to scan my documents now that they were signed. As I walked in to my local UPS store I was asked "are you just dropping off?" Before I could fully process the question, I answered "yes". But I actually needed a receipt and had to wait in line. Which was fine. But the employee ( who was the Manager) then felt the need to say "So you're actually NOT dropping off." I'm not sure what the point of this comment was other than to make me feel foolish or stupid. I'm just trying to go about my daily business and get stuff done, not trying to inconvenience people or waste their time. Skip this one and go to the one on sandy. Amazon return says no box or label. Even though my my packages were in boxes they came in and Amazon said I needed no boxes. The owner refused to accept the return unless I bought a big box from them. Left and went to Sandy and they processed the return in less than a min NO BOX NEEEDED. don't trust their scams. Owner was clearly sleep deprived and the worker even whispered to him maybe you should rest upstairs. Don't treat your customers like this or you will continue to get bad reviews. The quality of service has declined dramatically since new ownership of the place at Hawthorne (zip 97214). The staff were indifferent and it's really a gamble anytime something is sent there. They lost my package and told me to file a claim. UPS said it wasn't their problem. Other customers were also waiting in line to find out what happened to their mail as well so this was not an isolated case. If you're going to use this store, get insurance on anything coming there. read more
