The shipment was properly packaged, had a UPS label, and was authorized through a reptile shipping service that specializes in legal live animal shipments. Unfortunately, the employee I spoke with immediately told me they would not accept the shipment. The conversation was very brief, and there didn't seem to be any effort to verify the shipping requirements or policies before giving me that answer. Because both Salinas UPS Store locations told me they would not accept the package, I had to make last-minute alternative arrangements through the reptile shipping company. Thankfully, they were able to help, and my gecko ultimately arrived safely and healthy in Pennsylvania. I understand that live animal shipments are not common, but I would encourage staff to become more familiar with UPS-approved shipping services and policies so customers can receive accurate information. No call to or heads up about the late arrival. Co-worker completely lame, adolescent and has no understanding of the real world. I had a scheduled appointment and was told that the Notary had called in earlier to say she was sick. I had my brother travel 3 hours, I traveled down from San Francisco and got my 90 year old mother bathed, dressed and to the appointment on time and was told by a young woman that the Notary called in sick earlier without apology saying, "these things happen". I received a confirmation email regarding the appointment and then a follow up reminder of the appointment and get the notary knowing she had an appointment didn't bother to call us directly and notify us that she would be late. Three people went to a great deal of effort to make this appointment and to be there on time only to be told without apology that these things happen. Very, very unprofessional and immature. In the past LBC processing of air cargo has been fairly quick with the Cargo on its way the week after registration, but not this one. Did they lose this one too? Another claim coming up!

How they can do it so quickly amazes me. Then once they hit the streets they are pressured to deliver each piece of mail at a very fast pace. There are other staff who hide out watching how quickly the mail is delivered. If you are a new employee and not fast enough in delivering the mail, you will be fired. Not to mention the stress of walking the many miles to deliver mail. And the stress on the body carrying the mail on your shoulders.it is not an easy job at all.
