I had an Amazon return to drop off this morning. I was fully prepared, with a paper print-out of the drop-off QR code. I waited in line for more than 10 minutes while the UPS clerk tried to print off legal documents for two unrelated groups of people ahead of me. He printed the pages off wrong, then, mixing up the pages, gave the wrong documents to the wrong customer, waited for the customers to figure out the mistakes, reprinted and resorted everything, and finally, after several false starts, succeeded in giving each customer whatever it was they came in for. Next there was a whole rigmarole for a family which needed passport photos. Although they clearly described what they needed, the UPS clerk seemed to refuse to understand that, although there were three people in the family, only two of them needed passport photos. Then the clerk took a break to stock the supply shelves. And then, finally, he came to me. It took literally less than 30 seconds for the clerk to scan my QR code and accept my pre-prepared box for return. WHY, WHY, ten or more minutes earlier, couldn't the clerk have simply asked "Is that just a drop-off? I can handle that for you right now."?? He could have said this to me, for instance, while the first customers were trying to figure out what was wrong with the incorrect, scrambled legal documents he had handed them. I was pretty much stuck with UPS for my Amazon return. From my treatment this morning, it's obvious to me that UPS does not value my time. Employees are super helpful (and often quite busy)... however, as has been mentioned by others: their actual hours are not always as posted or adhered to. Just there this afternoon. sign says they are open until 6:30...but at 4:45 the lights are off. No note. Their phone dont work either (just a recording asking for a phone nember, then a PIN...WTF?) so no way to confirm they are open or not. Half dozen folks walked up while i was there...all trying to mail stuff...but no one was home. read more

I had to have business documents notarized and was a little nervous because it was important that I do it right AND scan and send it to Houston. There were a lot of pages to mess with, and, at 71, I haven't done this before. Hunter, their incredibly nice and easy going Notary Public walked me through the whole process and made the entire experience a pleasure, rather than an "Oh lord, am I even doing this right?" experience. Hunter is quite professional and knowledgeable, and also a good human who treats the customers with kindness. We need more people like him everywhere. read more

Make sure you check other places first. I came here to mail a small package and they quoted me over $17 for it to arrive a week later. At my business center at work, the same package costs half that and gets to your destination in 4 days or less. When I went to leave, they also made me pay for the box because the person helping me had already taped it. It would have been nice to be told all of this before the tape was applied. Totally lame service! I came in here with an Amazon return item and had two codes, I didn't know which one was which. I came in the door explaining this and the employee at the counter never listened, he just scanned one of my codes. Unfortunately it was the wrong one and now I have to call Amazon customer service to undo this mess. If the employee had just taken a little time for me to look up the correct code instead of blasting thoughtlessly ahead, this would never have happened. To make things worse, when I called them to complain about what happened they told me I was being irrational and NONE of their customers have problems with their service!! Lame. I came in today to mail a small package - the package was to return a shirt to an online store. They quoted me $10 (and some odd change). I asked how much it would be to send a USPS small flat rate box. I was told it was $14. That sounded fishy to me. I asked if I could send it in a USPS flat rate envelope. They told me no, it's for documents only. Then, I left and went to the Post Office to attempt to mail the same thing. To mail the USPS small flat rate box at the Post Office is around $7. They told me I could send it via a flat rate USPS envelope if I chose to, which cost only $6. Okay, I understand that UPS has to charge a few dollars more to ship USPS material, but double the price? That's absurd. I used to rent a mail box at UPS Bothell, and I only paid about $2-3 more when I wanted to ship USPS. Also, the young male worker there, who is also a notary public, I cannot recall his name, was being condescending as well when I asked him to clarify the options. Do not recommend this place. I tried to mail an amazon return last week (a gift from someone else), but Amazon didn't provide a QR code and I was told by both UPS and Amazon I would have to go home and print the label. I arrive today with the label and they inform me I have to provide a package, something that was not mentioned the first time by either company. All of this is regular, run of the mill inconvenience except for one fact. I am currently disabled, in a great deal of pain, and it is hard to leave my home - which I told both companies the first time I was there. While it may have made more sense for me to purchase an envelope there, I am on a very limited income. They also insisted they *did* tell me to provide my own packaging - an outright lie. The guy at the front finally bought me the packaging, but I had to have a complete meltdown first. There was zero compassion by either staff and the only reason they paid for the envelope was to get me out of the store. Shame on them. read more

Wow! I just had the most amazing customer service experience at this shop because Alex was working. I brought in a package that needed extra attention and he helped me pack the whole thing up. He did all of the taping and bubble wrapping and packing the box to ensure the collectible I was shipping arrived safely. What made me appreciate his kindness even more is that I have an invisible yet significant injury that makes it very difficult to do things like mail packages. Without even asking he simply offered to take over the job and did so with expertise. BIG high five to Alex. His customer service level and pleasant personality make this a UPS store to return to. The UPS store is a decent place to mail documents. Although the different locations have variable hours, this one is open until 6 pm on Saturdays making it one of the latest open branches in the city. Convenient if you're not the type to wake up at 8 am to go and stand in line at the post office on a Saturday. Service here was a little slow, but let me give them credit for being exceedingly thorough. He repeated the addresses two and three times to make sure it was correct and let me double check it. There are packing items here as well as other services, but a quick perusal showed them to be fairly expensive (e.g. notary public $10). I'd agree with the comment that it would be better to pick up your packing supplies elsewhere. read more

I live in the far west end of Wallingford, so I go to this place for all of my mailing needs instead of going to the post office. The employees are friendly and helpful. I have low-key needs, but I've seen them work with super needy and impatient customers and keep their cool. You can do anything here you can do at the post office, as far as I know. They do all sorts of other non-maily stuff like faxing, binding, notary public, etc. They have PO boxes too. Also, they are open on Saturdays for those of us who work business hours and can't seem to make it to the PO. They can be more expensive than the PO...don't ask them to pack your stuff, it's super expensive-just buy the bubble wrap and do it yourself. read more

Let's just say that my mom wasn't the most easy person to deal with and wanted to tape up the box herself and the poor employee was just following orders saying he couldn't let her because she could hurt herself yet she demanded it and said she would sign a waiver. *sigh... UPS is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. They didn't leave a note, the say they sent a postcard (which I never received and don't believe they sent one). They "tried" to deliver my package 5 days before the estimated date, so two days after the estimated date, when I called to see where it was, they told me I had to contact the shipper and have it reshipped. The whole thing was their mistake and there is NOTHING they can do? They also gave me the run around and made me call four different numbers and everyone had different stories for me. I will never use UPS again. USPS and FedEx are at my building everyday and are both 100 times more reliable and friendly than UPS. So livid with them right now. Never ever ever using them again, or ordering from a store that uses them. read more

I would probably not go here to ship a package because USPS is usually cheaper, but I have gone here several times to drop off a package for return (when the company is paying for the return). Many businesses including Nike, Amazon, etc. use UPS for their returns. I have also visited this UPS Store to get something notarized which was quick and easy. They also have an assortment of other services - they will pack things for you, photocopying, printing, etc. Staff are always very friendly. Hours are great. read more

I'm really disappointed in my service today. I use this UPS Store exclusively for 6 years and have spent thousands of dollars there. They are mostly efficient depending on time of year. They don't go out of your way to help but are conveniently located. Today they charged me $1 to tape up my box that I brought in for shipment. It's short sighted of the owner to have this policy. I went to the UPS Store for business cards. I had a design but the resolution of the images wasn't high enough for the online process of ordering cards, so I visited the physical store. There I met Samantha--quite engaging and a professional through and through. We spoke for a few minutes about the design and the mechanics of having the cards made. All this was yesterday. I spent $50 to have some very important documents, including a copy of my social security card, notarized and sent to the government people in Illinois to get my birth certificate sent back. These motherfuckers never sent it and then tried to blame me for the whole thing saying I should have sent it UPS instead of Priority Mail with the postal service. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!? They wouldn't take any responsibility and refused to even talk about a refund. I was reluctantly headed there when I saw this UPS store in the heart of Wallingford. I went in and found a very friendly and helpful staff and less expensive FAXing ($1.50/pg long distance). The prices of shipping things often times affect our overall experience but the truth is, the folks who work at the UPS store are super helpful and it's not like they're arbitrarily picking the costs... they weigh our stuff, they help us make sure the packaging is right... and they take what we need to ship and make sure it gets there. I just paid over $20 to fax 18 pages to Yakima. They charge $1/page (even for the cover sheet). Places like this prey on people who need to ship/send/scan/copy something immediately and who don't have access to a these inexpensive services. If I worked in an office, I could do any of this for free. What really makes me angry about all of this is that they weren't even friendly. The two guys working were both rude and not helpful or informative. I should have saved that $20 and put it toward my own copy/fax machine, but alas, I needed the service today. read more

Went back in for a refund and they blamed the USPS even though I walked into the UPS store and was given no option for UPS shipping. advised me to call USPS but the only number provided was entirely automated and they were of no help either.
