I live close by and usually stop by on a weekday in the morning to avoid lines, and so far it is paying off.. this post office is small and in need of some serious interior updates, but the equipment works, and the employees get the job done with smiles and courtesy.. Greenwood Postal Center - Post Offices Near Me - Seattle, Washington

One of my favorite locations! The employees are all extremely friendly, and they get packages scanned in ON TIME. I frequently sell online, and if your package doesn't get scanned in within 3 days, the buyer is able to cancel the order even if you shipped it out. It's always a worry for me that one of these days, I'm going to drop off a package and the buyer gets to cancel due to me "not shipping out", even though I dropped off the item but it didn't get scanned in. I'm always able to find street parking in front for a quick in and out situation. They used to have a bin to drop off prepaid packages in which was great. I used to drop off a ton of packages in the bin and walk out instead of having to wait in the long line. They've since changed it since some people were stealing packages out of the bin. Terrible how some greedy people just have to ruin things for others. Instead of dropping off prepaid packages in the bin now, you can still skip the line and drop it off at the counter with the employees instead. Note: you can only do this if you don't need a drop off receipt. If you need a receipt, you must wait in line. read more

In desperate need of an upgrade from the carpeting to the counters and everything in between, this location gets the job done, but could use improvement. The few times we have come in, we have found that there is only one employee working, and always a line. It would be nice to see the location more well-staffed, but I guess if people are apt to wait and no one complains, we continue with what we have. read more

I recently went into this location with my sister, and Sonya (or Sonja?) made it the best USPS experience I have ever had. I've been a customer for over 10 years and had a post office box. my payment didn't go through online again even though The funds were in the account. I went into the post office to pay it there was a $25 fee and also a change of lock for your $5. I tried to go online multiple times and pay it. It stated there was an issue with my billing address on my card. Which there wasn't I've used that car for years .but my PO Box was closed after 10 days due date. There was no phone contact or email contact regarding this I have returned my keys and closed my box this is the second time they gave my box away in 10 years. The customers don't matter at this store . On side note Sonja is wonderful and I've always loved seeing her she brightens up my day. Best customer service from her every time read more

THE BEST POST OFFICE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!! Normally the highest rating you can give a post office is "tolerable", but the staff here is no nice they actually make it a pleasant experience. I ship a lot of expensive items and they go out of their way to make sure my items are handled safely. read more

One of the better of the post offices. Not for the building, which is as old as silent movies, but the people--the staff here actually care about you as a person. Plus you can watch the traffic go by on Greenwood Avenue while you wait, which is rare that you can actually have a view at a post office while you wait. Not to mention, I grew up near the post office, I mean all the way back to when Kennedy was president (oops, I gave away my age). As a kid, I remember mailing stuff here, and it brings back good memories of better times and really cool songs, and what's more, the innocence that much of America seems to have lost. I guess you could call me a hopeless romantic. I'm always reminiscing and hanging out in the past, and that's part of my problem, if you could call it that, in that I refuse to grow up. Anyway, the people who work here are professional and really nice, and of course, they have P.O. boxes for rent, which are hard to come by, in a very quaint and cozy, very walkable part of the city of Seattle in the nostalgic chic Greenwood neighborhood. Parking is a chore. There are three spots in front, but you can park anywhere along 83rd Street or 84th Street to the north and walk a few. read more

Post master is incredibly rude and laughed at me saying "Lunch Break" at 11a. I get it if you have your lunch break and no one else works at that location so you shut your doors for an hour but don't laugh at your customer. read more

So when most people think of a post office, most people would probably relate it to Department of Licensing's better looking and nicer sibling, who can occasionally be boring, stale, and a stickler for rules. But this is not so much the case with this post office. This one is the one aunt that everyone loves who has a neat house, friendly demeanor, who has worldly stories to share but only want to hear all about your day. Been here twice since moving to the area and this is probably one of the best post offices I have ever been to. Pretty standard in terms of set-up and what they offer, but neat and clean even after a bout of rain. The ladies who work there are the absolute best. I've only ever interacted with Tamara (or is it Tamra?) but if the USPS is ever looking for a poster child for customer service, I would 100% vote for her. Super friendly, remembers you after one interaction, gets things done quickly, and not afraid to bring some laughter and chatter to what otherwise could be a mundane chore in our lives. Even though it's farther from my place than the other post office, it's totally worth coming here just to say hi to the postal workers. Note: remember to bring your own packing tape; they do not provide any but sometimes some people will donate the rest of their unused rolls so others can use it. read more

Just finished waiting in a line of easily 15 people to mail a package two weeks before Christmas. It is an unremarkable, dreary government-type building. Luckily fir the crowd waiting to be served, the one employee on duty was a chipper little lady named Sonja. She was extremely efficient, helping two customers at once, greeting everyone who came in the door and keeping everyone in good spirits. Brava Sonja!! read more

These cops wouldn't let me ship a package that was shaking violently? I'm not quite sure what the problem is, if they deliver packages as fast as they say they do? Mailing anything is always such a chore... you have to fill out forms, explain why the packages are soaking wet.... lie... it's just exhausting! (I'm kidding PETA) Regardless of that shortcoming, I think I have a thing for small postal centers, and this one in particular. It is probably an OK Post Office when open but I was in the area and needed to mail some packages and they were closed on a Monday between 11am and Noon. A hand-lettered sign in the window said Closed For Lunch. I don't know if they are closed every day for lunch or this was just an odd occurrence but I had to find another post office. I have never been to a post office that closed down over lunch before. So be warned. read more

Was called to come pick up a package. The person on the phone said they were open until 3pm. Took 2 busses and walked .5 mi only for it to be closed. Why lie to me? That makes no effing sense especially since it's the only time I can get over here due to my work hours. read more

Came in at 1:21pm on my lunch break to drop off some invites and there were people at the counter inside. The staff here really is amazing, especially Sonia, she is a piece of light in the world! But unfortunately this branch is treated like the red headed step child and multiple times I've come in and they were literally out of stamps. Since they're not a main branch there seems to be a lag in taking care of what is actually needed for this community. And this morning, Yelp has them open at 8:45 AM so I got here early because I have other appointments to get to you and the door says they now don't open till 9 AM. It would be helpful if as a business they cared enough to keep things like that updated so as not to waste everyone's time! Yelp also says they're open until 5:15 PM, but the door says 5 PM so be aware. I have actually contacted the main branch with a complaint but nothing ever seem to happen. And the staff here said once someone actually arrived to provide them with the stamps they needed and then got a phone call and left without actually giving them any stamps. WTF?!!! read more

It has limited hours and it is very small. It's also closer to my house than any UPS or Fedex. I feel like the employees try their best but it just isnt easy to ship anything. You have to select a box, write out a label (they should really get into the electronic labels like UPS has) and then pick out options. In the end it always works out but there's got to be a better way. read more
