VERY PREDATORY at this location. I went there with 4 large boxes from Home Depot I needed to ship to Las Vegas. I called UPS directly and also used the online UPS shipping calculator so I was prepared and knew what size and weight and approximately what I will paying to my destination. Package dimensions plus weight including originating shipping location to destination with taxes for ground shipping I was given online was $105 per box. I show up to this store and after getting through the door by ourselves (son and I) and then placing the first box on the counter when it came to our turn which weighed 43 pounds. The lady at the counter quoted me $197 to ship it which was the lightest box we had. So we went from an online quote of roughly $450 to over $800+ to ship 4 boxes meticulously and purposefully picked, packed and weighed to make sure we met their package and weight limits to get the right pricing. I called out the price difference and she said well it's the insurance on the package in case of loss or damage since it has a $100 value I provided. I responded I did all that also using the UPS shipping calculator and it still was $105. Ok let's remove the insurance I said she came back with well it will be $195 for this one box a $2 difference. My son and I looked at each other without saying words but flabbergasted at this insanity. Clearly I was buying it. She then threw out that well did you calculate taxes too? I was shocked. My response again was yes I used your online calculator which asked for all details including origination and destination calculating taxes. Also let's assume it did not add taxes online by some weird reason are you saying taxes are almost 90%? Her response to that one was well this is the UPS Store we are a franchise, we are a family owned local business and we are different from UPS. That one shocked me the most. I was like I used your website, your shipping calculator, I even called UPS directly to confirm a few things. Why prey on people with the UPS store only to cheat and lie to rip customers off. At this point I was gutted and knackered from these scammers and it was getting late on a Saturday. So I decided to collect all 4 boxes and head somewhere else. Ended up going to FedEx which mind you was the second highest option when I priced this out online for all major carriers using all their shipping calculators online only second to UPSP which was vastly expensive, but I digress. Shockingly, when I got to FedEx they were close to spot on, with their online quotes. All 4 boxes with a total weight of 182 pounds about 44 pounds on average for each box came to a total of $586 shipped from Minnesota to Las Vegas using ground arriving in 6 days. FedEx's online quote was about $125 per box so pretty close to estimation. Mind you when I quoted all 3 carriers - UPS, FedEx and USPS online there was roughly a $25 difference per box going from cheapest to highest with USPS almost doubling that online. Long story short this UPS Store is scamming customers and is extremely predatory. I have been a UPS Choice for a long time and I frequently pay for their yearly choice $19.99 package but I am very disappointed in this store and UPS should take notice. Because even though this store is clearly scamming customers they are also using the UPS name to lure customers in for the slaughter and scam. Or maybe this is a UPS practice and they condone these types of scams and predatory acts by their so called franchisees. To think that many customers go there, have gone there, get scammed and are none the wiser. They get a Big O Zero from me. UPS if you are reading this take note. The RUDEST employees I think I have ever met. I have been in here multiples times, smiling and asking how their days are going understanding this probably isn't the best job but I recently had to pick up a package here that wasn't left at my home (driver didn't ring the doorbell so I missed it) it was re-routed here which I had to pay for them holding it for a few hours. This store infuriates me to no end and i would encourage you all to go elsewhere for printing and shipping needs. read more

I have had the same luck here as others. I wanted to ship a small package (about 5x5x10", under 2 lbs) and their basic ground shipping was over $30? Needless to say, I left and shipped the package through the USPS. They were about $10 with insurance. Also, we tried to do an Amazon return here and normally Amazon says to just drop if off, the store will take care of everythign. We had everything ready to go, except the top of the box wasn't taped closed. They wanted to charge $2 to literally tape the top of the box closed? read more

Apparently "the UPS store" is not affiliated with UPS! That is what we were told by Taylor the Manager of the UPS Store in Shakopee. The UPS QR Code we were sent didn't pull up on our phone. We told Taylor that the error (i wish I could upload a picture to show you all) says it is supported by UPS. She said quote "WE ARE NOT UPS" That's weird we went into a store that has a UPS logo, talking to a manager (who BTW has the worst customer service skills in the world) that has a UPS shirt on, with the UPS logo on her nametag, and it looks like UPS threw up all over the store, but they are NOT UPS! When the QR Code didn't pull up, we asked if we could email her the printable version of the mailing label, so she could print it for us. She said quote "no, that is not my responsibility" , and wanted us to rent one of their computers for $4 to print the label. Just so everyone knows, FedEx in the Shakopee Walmart is AWESOME, they print the $.05 label for you as a courtesy, and don't ask you to pay $4 to do so. Its called good customer service Taylor...I'll pause here so you can write it down for future reference. We tried "The UPS Store" (which apparently is NOT UPS according to Taylor) and now we know we have to just keep going to FedEx in Walmart from now on, even though they are farther away from our home. I recommend everyone else going there too if they wanted to be treated with respect. So fair warning to anyone who wants to do business with UPS. Sadly I had to give one star for it to let me write this review. I owned a home based firearms business and needed them to receive packages I couldn't be home for. For the majority of my one year time everything was fine. Then about 10 months in I was to receive a rifle shipped from CA. I called and was told it hadn't arrived. I then got a hold of the shipper who told me he has documentation stating it arrived three days prior. I called again and was told the same thing it hadn't arrived. The shipper then called with the information and tracking number showing it was delivered and who signed for it. He explained that since now it is lost we need to notify the police. The employee working told him he should call the President also and hung up on him. We had to get Shakopee PD involved to start an investigation into where it went. Turns out they gave it to another mail box holder who had it for over a week. I then received a call stating they found it and it's in their possession. I went in and said I was there to pick up the rifle. They didn't even ask who I was or make me show ID they just gave me the rifle a firearm!!!! Nothing was offered to make it better or an apology given to myself or the shipper. When I signed my cancellation for the mail box it asked why. You lost a firearm!!!!!! read more

Went to fax literally 2 pages cost over $5.00 absolutely RIDICULOUS . AND they are not in the least bit friendly!! I rather drive to the facility and hand deliver the papers! I would give zero stars if I could. STAY AWAY FROM IT. They lie, steal your money, you pay for 3 day delivery and your package gets lost, and they will not take any accountability whatsoever. Talk about a saga...tried to ship some girl scout cookies from MN to OR during a winter snow storm. Totally expected late delivery, completely acceptable from UPS. BUT, this locally owner store was horrible at notifying me that the box was shipped BACK to MN due to 'damage'. Which both I and person working at this location saw that there was absolutely no damage. Again, that part is not a reflection on this store but a reflection of UPS. This store, as stated earlier, no notification. When we inspected the returned box, I asked to have it reshipped, but I was not willing to pay another $20 for shipping. The women behind the counter said she'll contact UPS and get it straightened out. No WORD for weeks, called weekly and left a message, no return call. Finally a returned call saying UPS won't reshipp unless I pay AGAIN for shipping. Again, same women behind the counter said she would work with UPS to get this straigthened out. NOTHING. That has been going on for about 3 months. Find another shipping store. Not worth the hassle. Sadly, a huge ding against UPS, as well. FEDEX will be getting my $$. read more

Dealing with this store has been a complete nightmare. To begin, I cannot use my UPS account in their store, because they are individually owned and operated? They are UPS STORE. How do you not accept a UPS account for shipping?!!! Second, their customer service is nothing short of TERRIBLE. Don't expect any exceptional help from this store. If what you are trying to do is at all complicated, expect it to take FOREVER and that it will most likely not be done right the first time. I asked for some shipping receipts to be reprinted and asked that they make sure they have them all printed by confirming the total. I was specifically told, "I will print what I find but I will not do the math." I cannot express the amount of frustration caused by this store. I was charged for a service that was never delivered and the owner refused to refund my money. In fact, I asked for the owner to call me 3 times each of which were ignored. I paid for a laptop computer to be delivered to me in Canada. We paid $58 for delivery time of one week. UPS Canada called me and told me there were significant other charges I was required to pay and NONE of these charges were disclosed to me when they took my order. I didn't want to pay more money so I refused to accept those charges and my computer was returned to the original location. When I explained this situation to the employees at the store, they all agreed I shouldn't have to pay, however the owner refused to refund my money - for a service that I paid for that was NEVER delivered upon.
