I had a terrible experience at this UPS location. I was preparing to ship a product and briefly moved a stapler on the counter so I could take a clear photo of the small item before sending it. This employee immediately told me, in a rude and dismissive way, that "his counter was not a photoshoot set" and that I could not rearrange it. The comment was unnecessary and insulting. I was not causing a disruption, damaging anything, or holding up the line. I was the only customer in the shop at that moment. The interaction was so unpleasant that I walked out and took my shipment to FedEx instead. Customers should be treated with basic courtesy, especially for something this minor. This UPS Store is near my house, so I often visit it for various mailing needs. It seems grossly understaffed (usually 1 person serving, 5 people waiting in line for help). It is a small shopfront located within the High Ridge Shopping Centre, a place that is notoriously hard to find parking within. They are not good at answering the phone and tend to be a bit curt if you do get an answer (probably because they have a line of customers waiting to be helped and are feeling overworked). They do have some good workarounds (e.g. if you are dropping off an Amazon package you can leave it in the corner without needing to wait in line but then you need to do it at your own risk because if you don't physically hand over the package you don't get a confirmation receipt that you initiated the return process by depositing the item at a UPS location). Overall, the parking is a nightmare and when combined with the understaffing, it is a place I don't particularly enjoy visiting. read more

This UPS does not require face masks in their tiny store. I've been in there with both customers and employees sans masks. This is the closest UPS to my home. I now drive an extra couple of miles to go to a further UPS and will continue to do so after the pandemic. read more

They are shameless and on the phone watching videos while customers are waiting in the store. I asked the person taking my shipment in about the dimensions that were already on the original sticker (when it was sent to me). The dimensions were 20x15x6. She pulls out her tape and rounds up counting her finger which made the dimensions 21x16x8. I asked about why the dimensions would change to give her the chance to correct herself. But no. She tries it again and still adds her finger to the measurement. Ok then. I just won't come back here. Kinda shady or incompetent. Either way. One star. read more

I use a lot of shippers in my line of work, and also do a lot of shipping firsthand myself. So, I know the ins and outs of proper packaging and the costs of materials, as well as that of UPS, FedEx, USPS and other carriers/couriers. It's getting harder and harder to find reliable shipping where items are packed well, service is good and at a fair price. My first experience with this shipper was mediocre (even after asking for a tracking number I had to hound them for it), and when I asked for another quote for the same service for a smaller, less expensive item I was met with unfriendliness and a higher price. (and this is a mere 2-3 weeks since the last shipment) When I inquired why I was being asked to pay a higher price for an item being insured for less I was met with - a rude reply asking me for my credit card number, and no answer to my question. When I asked a second time - I received no reply at all. Completely unprofessional. I have a choice who to work with and I will choose a business that cares about courtesy, transparency and actually following through on their promises. And non-gouging, reasonable prices. Everyone here was nice and friendly, even offering me the use of their tape gun to secure the envelope I purchased from them. My only complaint about this place is that it smells like the inside of an ashtray, a really really heavy cigarette smoke smell. read more

Young kid with the "sweeping hair" across his face found a way to piss me off first thing in the morning!!! I should have known to walk out when he had to revise the order of the customer before me, which meant double charging her card to "make his manager happy". I was given one price. I ok'd it. Credit card out and already placed in machine. He then says "oh, I forgot to charge you for the box", which was $5.99. But why was the total $9 more? That aside, he had already given me "the total" and without even an apology just tacks in $9. It's a matter of customer service, as is the case with most of my negative reviews. Even after I canceled the transaction he never looked my way. He simply said "next customer". When there's one person (kid) working the store and he has no idea what he's doing, it makes for a bad situation.m All that to say, watch what you are charged for! read more

They sent me a timely reply as well as a very competitive quote which I decided to accept. They packed my fragile item with great care, shipping time was very reasonable & basically everything from start to finish was EXCEPTIONAL. They are nice, helpful, alert. When there are people in line waiting, the person in the back stops what they're doing and comes up front to help out. When you walk in they say 'hey'. When you ask a question they actually answer it. They say, thanks, and odd things like "there you go!" "you're all set!" and even stranger - "no problem!". I like not feeling like I did something horrible to my package before I creep up to the counter and "present it" to the scale. $ 3 just to print a single black and white page. Actual cost is supposed to 9 cents! That is 30 times the actual cost. Called the store and asked if I could email them a pdf file I had to print as I thought it would be easier for them to print from an email instead of having to download it from the site upload feature online. When I went there, it was over $ 3 for a single page ... because they said "they had to print it from a computer" (?!). Well, it is what it is, but I think they should tell you that they are going to charge you 30x the cost if you try to help them by emailing instead of making them work and logon to a website (using a computer), etc etc. They never even mentioned this when I called them. Second - I was mailing some extremely important documents. I had the label and asked them to put it in the usual UPS pouch. He "REFUSED" to put it in a pouch and instead put a "TAPE" over the label and attached it to the UPS packet (that I also provided). I was very nervous that the label might get damaged as it was exposed. Extremely Unprofessional, Rude and Ultimately Unethical Practices which I intend to inform corporate about as well. Go to Fedex or the other UPS Store, these guys are out to get every cent in whichever shape or form no matter how unethical it would be. read more

The owner/manager of this location is the rudest human being who ever provided a service to a customer. He yelled at my mother when she went to have something notarized. She had to notarize a copy of my father's passport and not only did he question the original document, he asked to have my father present. And by asked, I mean demanded. This is no way to deal with a customer and then charge for your signature. No thanks. I don't appreciate when my very polite and respectful mother feels humiliated. Will not return. read more

They are very helpful people. I have three huge boxes( 70 LB each) and need to ship overseas. I called to find out the price and they tried to accommodate me by looking into better options. because of the weight and size of the box, and it goes to overseas, the quote is very expensive. but George reached out UPS connections a few times for me and helped me get a really good rate by Ocean freight. I'd like to share my experience yesterday, 12/4/12, at the UPS Store on High Ridge Rd., Stamford, CT. I arrived at the store at approximately 4:15 p.m. after work to pick up a package that required my signature. I walk into the small store to the cashier counters/customer service area and there's no one there. I observe to my right that there are a few workers in the back presumably packing an item. I can easily see them so I assumed they would see me as well and provide help. After a few minutes of waiting I decided to walk closer towards the workers and ask for some assistance. I see a middle-aged woman & man, and a younger woman there. I politely say "excuse me, hello I'm here to pick up a--" and before a can finish, the middle-aged woman spun her head à la the exorcist and with a grunt, raspy, loud voice shouts "she'll be right out!" The look on this woman's face with her words can only be described precisely as the farmer in the first installment of the film "Men in Black" after the alien enters his body. The faces, the movement, even the voice was an absolute near perfect match. Her eyes piercing with pure evil destroying all that is good in her path and her voice was so strikingly wicked like that of an individual possessed by satan that even poltergeist would be frightened. Her rudeness, that attitude & tone as she spoke made her grotesque. In astonishment of this woman's actions all I can do is finish my sentence "...a uh a pack--age?" I walk back to the counter & just thought to myself did that just happen? After the incident with the gargoyle, the young woman came out to help me...she barely said 3 words to me. "ID, sign here." A zombie. Flabbergasted--a customer walks into a store, is polite & seeking help and this is they way to treat them? Not to be courteous, kind? I'm sorry but this is your job & if a customer is going to be respectful then you should without a doubt treat them properly. I remained polite & respectful wishing her a good day and happy holidays as she walked away to the back without taking the initiative to make an appropriate valediction which I believe along with greeting, is a notable aspect of customer service. May not seem like a big deal, but it truly was a disturbing experience of ill-mannered behavior I did not warrant or expect. How would they feel if they or a loved one were treated that way in a store? It's not only a matter of treating a customer, but also treating any regular person. A common sense rule of life--treat others as you would like to be treated. This experience was an appalling display on how NOT to treat an undeserving customer.
