The company I was dealing with sent me a UPS sticker to pay for the shipping so I thought I would just purchase a box and some bubble wrap from the UPS store. The UPS driver had not only delivered the package late, the UPS system indicated that the package had arrived when it was actually still on the truck. Not only that, the UPS driver had redirected the package by superimposing an entirely different name and address label on the package. The old long hair blonde woman with the Russian accent that works here is the laziest most customer service averse owner/employee that I have ever experienced. She has an absolute terrible attitude and cares not one wit about your business. There is no connection between your money being paid here and her paycheck. Disgusting. I just went there to send the iPhone back to Apple, this was the worst experience I ever had with customer service, The old man there didn't give any warm welcome and smile, just asked you to put it at the pile of other packages, he talked with his back to you, so rude. Like others who have left comments, I too had a very bad experience with this store. The woman was rude without provocation. I therefore, wanted to go elsewhere but my son was very tired and he didn't want to go anywhere else. We therefore, sent off the box (which was very costly) and the very next day it was delivered. It was delivered in a timely manner alright, but to us and not to the well stipulated receiver's address! The box was very heavy and this caused us a complete inconvenience to say the least. There was no reasonable way for her to blame us. She offered to reimburse the amount we paid for the service we never received but she insisted that if we wanted to have the box sent again (presumably properly on the second attempt ), we had to pay the full amount as if there never had been a first, foibled attempt. In other words, we would not receive any compensation for the various troubles that this had caused. Essentially, she breached our contract and yet she didn't think she had to bear any real responsibility despite the fact that the breach itself was completely the result of her incompetence. I am very disappointed in the incompetent way this store manages their (dis)- service and there is no excuse for the unprovoked rudeness. Victorians - there are lots of competent and friendly courier companies here that would appreciate and respect your business (and who can perform their services properly). This is review not only of the UPS stores, but the Victoria UPS Depot apparently located in Victoria, BC particularly the call centre. I had a horrific experience and have reported the flawed system to Apple in hopes they will try to rectify the communications errors. My iPhone needs repairs and once connected with Apple they had UPS in Victoria deliver a specific box that the iPhone must be shipped in along with very specific instructions on how to proceed preparing the shipment. Here's the clincher...very specifically Apply does NOT recommend leaving the return package in a drop box or mailbox for pickup, but rather a hand-off directly to the UPS courier person. Also a receipt for the pickup is required as Apple will not hold themselves responsible for missing products. ANYWAY...great service UPS guy delivers the box and asks if I can pack the phone and give him the package. I can't because I have to do all the steps required to back up the data on the phone first, blah, blah and so I ask if I can call the service to arrange a pick up. YES he says, no problem!! Having no replacement for the phone immediately, I find some communications alternative and call UPS' toll free number to arrange the pickup. The call centre person is very pleasant telling me the details when pickup is available and we agree to a time frame between 9 am and 12 noon the next day. I arrange to make sure I'm home to have the iPhone return box ready. At about 11:45 am I get a call coming in on the replacement phone from a No Caller ID so I let the voice mail pick up. The message is from the local UPS depot telling me no delivery person is coming and that I will have the box picked up "sometime in the afternoon" with no phone number left for me to call and acknowledge. So, I call the 1-800 UPS line and chat with the operator about how I've been waiting for the UPS pickup and what can they do to help. I'm told to wait and a message is being sent to Victoria to tell them to call me. A few minutes later...a call from the No Caller ID again which I now answer beleiving this is the local business explaining what's happened. It is a very nasty call where the caller tells me no such arrangement for pick up exists and that 'they' don't do pick ups in the morning, only afternoons. I asked specifically why UPS would make such an arrangement if they did not intend to pick up the parcel and her response was that if I could not be at the location for pick up, I could leave it on my doorstep or in a mailbox. I explained that Apple specifically asks that this not be done and to get the UPS pickup person to take it personally and provide a receipt. Also these iPhones are very expensive and will not be replaced by them should they go missing. After more nasty responses from her and a refusal to provide a specific time, she told me she would put me on hold while she took a call from a driver. The phone call was ended and I had to call back UPS again! More apologies and that they would call Victoria to see what could be done. Aaaargggh!!! I finally called Apple Customer Service and finally got a call from UPS in Victoria at 2:30 pm with more apologies but the person who called me had left for the day. He did not have any clue what could be done except maybe I could leave the parcel with a neighbour!! Duh!! I said here's my suggestion...get a driver on the phone and see if they could send someone within the next half hour. He called back a few minutes later and could not accommodate the request and maybe I should drive to the nearest UPS store to drop it off!!! I did and got more rotten service from the same store on Hillside and more bad attitude even thought there was a UPS pick up person right there in the store!!! I handed her the parcel and asked for a receipt and the owner of the store then told me she would give me one. She handed me a blank form that asked for the tracking code and the date dropped off. I asked her to initial it showing UPS authorization and she said no she would not. I missed the better part of the day and got extremely bad service just because I bought an iPhone and Apple chose to use this insanity. I just hope my phone gets delivered to me and not dropped off at the front door. read more

Very rude staff, please pick any other UPS over this one. I mailed an Apple return from this location, and when dropping it off I asked the lady working there whether they did the carrier acceptance scan at the Victoria store or in Vancouver, because it's a critical part of the return process and is time sensitive. She refused to answer, and spoke considerably poor English. She repeatedly told me she wasn't "a customer service employee" and that any questions I had I needed to "call the number". She kept repeating "call the number" over and over as I tried to elaborate and explain to her why I needed to know what I was asking. I eventually gave up and asked what the number was, and she responded "it's the 1-800 number." I left and googled the number myself, called it, and was told to ask at the shipping center (go figure). The box never did end up getting scanned, and I had to call Apple to have the return window extended. Avoid this UPS like the plague unless you enjoy being treated like garbage. read more

Well, when you go into this store you can choose. There is a completely disinterested guy who hangs around the back and only comes out from time to time to do something unhelpful. OR... You can try and try and try to get some service from the woman in the store who acts as if she is doing you a favour by saying hello, and is curt and sometimes just plain disinterested. I had enough and started using the UPS store on Oak Bay Avenue. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Why does UPS let these two keep the store? Isn't there some kind of minimum standard? I have been a customer at this store since it opened, around 15 years. We have a P.O. box here, and we also use the store to ship and to receive everything from mail to large very heavy boxes and freight. Mara goes out of her way and runs a very efficient store considering the volume of traffic that comes through. Over the years I have seen during the peak hours, impatient people coming in to this busy store already upset at UPS and begin to bark orders at her, demanding that UPS fix their "problem". These people invariably end up being told politely that this is an independent shipping outlet, and not the actual UPS company, and she cannot provide instant UPS Canada customer service for everyone with a random question. You have to call the main Canada-wide number and you get your answer really fast. Even if Mara wanted to, she couldn't provide customer service for random shipments. Other people don't have ID, then they become angry when they cannot pick up a package. These explanations (facts, really) just aren't good enough for some, so they flock to these web sites and write scathing reviews about her. Really quite sad, because she is an outstanding and highly conscientious vendor and provides excellent service for hundreds of grateful customers and other small business owners every day. The hateful reviews on the other hand, speak volumes about their authors. read more

Retuned Apple product to this store. I asked him is this is everything I need and he took the package and literally threw it on top of a pile of other packages. Didn't ask me for anything and was super rude and awkward. I left the store and walked back in to ask if the package needs to be scanned in and he told me that the driver will scan it in later at 4pm when they come to pick up the packages. Never got a email from anyone and called Apple. They said that that package was never accepted and that I should have got an email within 24 hours from the UPS store. If there was an option to provide negative stars, I would give it the maximum the other way. I am normally not a person to write reviews in general but this type of service is needed to be shared with the world. Ive been to this store a couple of times and they were all filled with terrible service. However this most recent time was the worse of them all. It shouldnt even be called customer service... there is no service...This would be ranked as #1 Customer Disservice. It will forever be an experience that I use when providing examples of what NOT to do. Detailed interaction below but make sure you read to the end...best part. The store closes at 5.30pm and I arrived at 5.15pm - i got there as fast as i could from work as I needed to urgently mail a package back to the vendor. The older male employee probably in his 60s+ (i was so mad I forgot to get his name) was using the computer and did not acknowledge me until after what seemed like a long time, then proceeded to look at his watch and ask 'what do you want'. I told him I needed to mail this out and i had a UPS label and proceeded to give him all the documents I printed. He rudely said its not there and to come back tomorrow when I have it. In light that i must have forgot to print it, I ask if I can use the computer there to print which will take 2 minutes at most. He initially said he is closing and to come back tomorrow when I have it. This is still 15 minutes to closing....... Eventually he said fine but he will charge to use and print - I said fine. Afterwards, he asked if I wanted to pay 17 dollars for their wrapping service. In light that there was 10 minutes left to closing, I said okay even though Its in the original box and I had the original shipping box in great condition and brought one giant roll of bubble wrap to do it myself - the only thing missing was the tape. He then asked me what the package was (it was in front of him with a picture and the word clearly spelled out). Then asked if it was in the original box which clearly it was. Then after several minute of him in deep consideration, he said this was bigger than normal and I needed to pay $45 dollars... to wrap. Keep in mind this was all in a very very rude manner. I respectfully declined and said I have everything i need to wrap other than tape and asked if he has tape. The first thing he says is for me to come back tomorrow as he is closing...there is still 5 minutes... I informed him everyday I can only come around the same time because I have to work and will get this done before he closes... after a bit of back and forth, he said 'you've got two minutes' and said you can buy the tape - i said fine. So I wrapped it into a little snowman and used half the roll of tape to secure the package. He takes it and shakes it violently and asked condescendingly, 'you sure you wrapped it securely?' - i said yes while getting furiated. He proceeds to condescendingly say, 'if I throw it to the ground it wont break?' - i honestly thought he was joking at that point while he proceeded to AGGRESSIVELY THROW MY PACKAGE TO THE GROUND. I was dumbfounded but swallowed my immediate anger, paid 4 dollars for literally 2 minutes of computer use amongst paying for a roll of tape and half a page of paper; took pictures of the package for some insurance and walked out. As the package was not leaving to the next morning, I could not risk expressing my utter dissatisfaction then and there in fear he would destroy it in my absence. Seriously unbelievable. That the best word to describe it. After explaining the situation to all my friends in the last day, I've now heard at least 4-5 different negative experience at this store by people who have been here. He's an older guy who should be staying at home but prob the government forces him to work. He took forever to open and when he finally did it was way past opening time.
