Yes I was glad that they were the only office store that was open in the entire city on Labor Day. However to charge $2.29 for a single page black and white page is highway robbery. I asked one of the two clerks as to why their price to print out a single no -color page costs 8 times higher than anywhere else, and he suggested that I should go ahead and go there. I thought that was a very cocky and rood response. Both of the clerks acted extremely arrogant and I was the sole customer in the store. Then on top of that, it took them several minutes to get the printer to even work. Yet I still got robbed. The only reason why I am gifting this place 2 stars is because they were in fact open when nobody else was, and one of the employees gave me directions to U Street. read more

Worst possible service ever. Seriously. I went to pick up a package I sent there so that it would not get stolen from my porch. I was told by the idiot behind the counter that they sent it back and to please never have anything delivered there again. WTF. I literally had to check to make sure I was in a UPS store. This really is about as terrible a service as I could possible imagine. I mean they normally charge me 10 dollars to pick something up which fedex does not. And now they don't want my money or my loyalty. Well okay then. You all suck and I am done doing business with them. read more

Beware this store. I had a friend ship me some things when I was away on business, and they charged him 3x what they should have. They used a much larger box than was needed -- 16x16x16, when a small box a little larger than an old-school lunchbox would have sufficed -- which upped the bill from $32 or so to $97! My friend had no idea, so he paid the bill. Imagine my surprise when I received the box and it was 3/4 empty (with simply some packing paper thrown inside). I've complained to the corporate HQ, but since the stores are locally owned it's a long slog. I use UPS all the time to ship things. I have never had to pay anything like this for something so small and light. As background, I was shipping a windbreaker, a small empty cloth North Face bookbag like we used in the 1980s, some gummy bears, a small pair of scissors, and a small iphone battery - that's it!. It all fit inside a small Amazon box. As my friend didn't have a box, he asked them for one, and they chose a box that was huge and cost 3x more to ship than the smaller box in which everything fit fine (and it's not like these things were fragile). I have photos of the items I had shipped, the box they used, and then the box I was able to easily put everything in (once I received it). I also have photos showing how their box was when I received it. I calculated that 4 1/2 of the boxes I used fit inside the box they used, tripling the final price. The local manager refused to even consider the problem, seemed upset that I had even raised it with him, and also refused to tell me who his boss is, so I could elevate the complaint to them. There appears to be zero accountability at this store, and UPS corporate did nothing, claiming they have no say in what happens at their local stores. (Which seems odd, since the stores are still using the UPS name, surely there are some kind of rules.) I'm simply writing this as a public service. If you care about whether you're being cheated, I would seriously consider going to any other UPS store in town, or the nearby Fedex (two blocks up) or USPS (on the next corner up), than this one. read more

Just needed one page of an email printed out. To do this, I'm required to wait for the public computer, which charges $2 per minute and $ 0.15 per copy. Of course that also means logging into my email on a public computer and as you can imagine the computer is quite slow. Cost for one printed piece of paper $4.15 plus 15 minute wait and a pretty good chance my email is compromised. Meanwhile, I can just go to fedex down the street, email the one page I'd like printed and pay $0.15. read more

This UPS Store is closest to my home, so I've been there several times, and the same twit always has a bad attitude. On my most recent visit all I needed was to have an item bubble wrapped and boxed so I could drop it at the Amazon Hub. I asked him to bubble wrap and box a laptop (which was in its original box). After weighing the package and checking the dimensions, he asked me where I was shipping it. I said, "I'm not shipping it; I just need it bubble wrapped and boxed." He then said, "You want it now?" I said, "Yes." He said, "I don't have time to pack it now," as if he was annoyed at my request. So after paying to park and waiting for him to inspect and weigh the item, I left. From my car I called UPS Store customer service to identify a UPS Store location that would actually perform this simple task. Huge waste of time, money, and energy. And it wasn't the first time. How this location stays in business is beyond me! read more

The two guys running this location are incompetent and can be rude as well. After filing a claim and attempting to have UPS the company address their mishandling of the items I shipped, the guys were uninterested in helping me, much less providing me me current information on who to speak to in regards to the last package. After 7 month of dealing with them and their head quarter, the reimbursements from the store is some bare minimum that barely covers the cost of one of the items shipped. Not not only will I never use this location, but UPS in general! Don't expect customer service from this branch. read more

These guys go above and beyond the call of duty every time I am in here. They are by far the most friendly, hardest working people I've ever encountered in a postal store. On my last visit, I accidentally had a package that was supposed to be sent USPS by a pre-printed return label. While they couldn't take back the package, they did fully and securely tape up the box for me, which was greatly appreciated. read more

I walked over here to make a bad Lux Living at Sonnet, sadly, even worse --GreyStar, StayFar!... UPS can't be bothered to accept my return to sender UPS delivered box to SONNET apartments. So to print one page for a label i have to wait to use a public computer then pay 4$ for the printed label. I've been to this UPS store three times. The first time was a great experience--it is the closest place offering notary services near me, I walked in on a random afternoon and everything went smoothly and painlessly. The second time, I was not so pleased. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and had the most painful human interaction in my life only to be turned away. I told them that I had some forms I had to get notarized and the awkward guy behind the counter responds curtly, "You can't." Ok... so I asked "Why?" He says "Because he's not here." And then I asked "Well, when will he be here?" He responds "Monday." Ok... "Does he work any other days? It would just help with future scheduling." "Tuesday." Do you know what really helps customers? Answering questions with more than one word at a time when you have to explain why you can't provide a service that is clearly being advertised. At this point I give up talking to this guy and leave after resolving to come back Monday when the notary would be around. I left work early to make it back to the store in order to make the deadline on some employment forms that I had to mail. I thought that it would be so convenient to get my documents notarized and shipped all in one place! NOT SO. I asked for the notary again and he was there! Hooray! Except my forms had somewhat long winded instructions for the notary, and after I told him that, he told me "well I'll do them if they're not that complicated, I have to leave soon and don't have much time." Um, I'm sorry? You are standing in front of me working at a place that doesn't close for another 3 hours and you are talking about leaving before you even look at my forms? I then showed him my I-9 forms and he immediately told me that these were "too complicated" and they "don't do them here" and suggested that I go to Maryland to get them notarized because he wasn't sure that anywhere in DC could. Um, hell no I'm not driving to Maryland!! I drove down to VisaHQ in Dupont Circle (btw, still in DC) instead and got them notarized and came back. Lo and behold, Mr. "I gotta go soon" was still there 1 hour later and helped me ship my documents. Side thought: I'm pretty sure Mr. "can't notarize documents with instructions" was also working when I went in the first time and was turned away. I have no idea what's going on around here. Anyway, for notary services, I recommend just going somewhere else. I wasted my time on two occasions for something they couldn't even help me with. UPS is clearly unreliable in this department and on top of that I was given bad information. Would not come back unless I had a simple shipment to deal with. Anything more complicated might just be too much. read more

Reading the reviews it seems that my experience parallels many others! They are like Jekyll and Hyde. My first two times were fine then today happened( reason for two rather than one star). First, they were rude to my manager and then after she came out and told me about it, I went in and got the same treatment from the guy with the shiny head like mine. All we were trying to do was send a package back to amazon. The person we spoke with would not even explain why he kept asking me for a credit card?? It was not needed before or today for an amazon return! The other person working did at least eventually answer my question and resolve the issue. I would never return to this place. Only reason I went was for an amazon return! Check out Base Camp for shipping packages amongst other things. It is just a couple blocks down 18th street and is full of the nicest and most helpful people ever! Ask for Raj and tell him Kevin from Dupont Market recommended you! We can in with a bulky, protruding package and (for free!) they taped it all up in ways we would have had to pay at least $10 for at other shipping facilities!
