I go to this store very frequently and have only once had one problem. But he apologized when I called him on it, and made a big effort to be nice. I also have a PO Box that I've never used and one day I walked in and had forgotten the PO Box number. He was very kind and eager to figure it out for me. So, I'm good with this place and hope the person in charge has learned to be nicer. You never know what someone has gone through in their life to make them misbehave. Avoid!!! Would give zero stars if could. A family member went to ship some inexpensive holidays gifts (worth less than $200) today from MA to CT. This location charged them $550 for a shipment that should have been $150 or so! The store purposefully sold them too large a box and then on top inaccurately measured the dimensions of that box to make it exactly 1 inch over a 130 inch "large package" threshold leading to extreme fees. It's all just a scam. When I called 45 minutes later to inquire how the charge got so large and to attempt to reverse by canceling the whole shipment, the owner became verbally abusive and then personally threatening. These people are crooks. Avoid at all costs. UPS Corporate should not allow franchisees like this to sully their name. There is a reason why this location has so many terrible reviews. I wish I would have checked these reviews before today's events. I guess there are much better franchisees in Needham and Newton. read more

Worst customer service at this location. Charging me to return damaged package from UPS.

I have maintained a UPS Store mailbox at this location for four years without issue, mainly because I didn't use it much. Over the past four months, I began using it more frequently to receive packages for my work. Recently, five boxes arrived over a holiday weekend. When I came to pick them up, I found a sign taped to them that read, "Do not give to customer. Call Stuart." The employees called the owner, Stuart Silbert, and handed me the phone. Within seconds, he began shouting, calling me a liar, and telling me to "shut up." I was stunned -- especially as my 13-year-old daughter stood beside me. He accused me of violating UPS policy by "shipping and storing excessive packages," a claim I can easily disprove. The last time I had multiple boxes shipped to this store was in July -- nearly three months earlier -- and each time, I picked them up within a few days. In fact, when I was on vacation for a week in July, I even had my sister-in-law pick them up so they wouldn't sit there all week. Stuart spoke over me whenever I tried to respond, yelled, screamed, threatened to cancel my mailbox and withhold my packages or destroy them. His behavior was hostile, demeaning, and abusive. I currently have an active mailbox at this store and, after this encounter, I'm genuinely afraid to return. The employees on site appeared unsurprised, suggesting this was not an isolated incident. Afterward, I discovered multiple dozens of similar reviews from customers at this and his other UPS Store locations describing the same pattern of verbal abuse, disrespect, and retaliation. No customer should ever be treated this way, and I sincerely hope UPS Corporate takes these repeated complaints seriously and re-evaluates his continued authorization to operate under the UPS brand. read more

Terrible experience. I opened a box to use temporarily after moving to the state. When it was about to expire, I called the store and spoke to someone who told me they could collect any mail that came after it expired and mail it to me at my new home a couple hours away. They took my credit card to pay for the postage.Turns out, they never did anything with It and the box was simply closed and set to return items to sender. Their response to my concern that my card number was mishandled was to deny everything and insist I never called. I contacted their corporate office, and the local store told them that I came in person to close the box, which I never did - I even still have the key. I brought a printed return code with me to drop off some items, but the staff member at the store was unable to scan it. He complained that the label was either too large or too dark. I've used the exact same method to return items at other UPS locations without any issues, so I couldn't understand why it was suddenly a problem here. After multiple failed attempts, the staff member said, "I'll try again later," and started assisting a new customer who had just walked in. While I was waiting, I looked around the store, hoping to find some tape I could use to seal one of my boxes. Then, the staff member suddenly got angry and said, "Why are you invading my workspace? Why aren't you standing where you're supposed to be?" I was surprised by his tone, and although I didn't realize I had entered his workspace, I immediately apologized. Still, his reaction felt unnecessarily hostile. Later, he asked me to hand him my phone so he could scan the return code directly. I told him I didn't have it with me; my phone was in my car. He then tried a different scanner, and although it worked briefly, it failed again soon after. I assumed the problem was with their equipment and told him I'd go grab my phone in the car. At that point, he snapped at me, saying, "I told you to bring your phone from the beginning!" in a very irritated tone. When I returned with my phone and was searching for the return code, he said, "Look at me! Make the screen as bright as possible and show me the code." The way he said "Look at me!" was incredibly rude, like he was scolding a disobedient child, and that's when I really started feeling upset. I did exactly as he asked--adjusted the size and brightness of the code--but then he demanded that I place my phone on the table so it would be easier for him to scan. Even after placing it on the table, he complained that it was too far or angled poorly and kept ordering me to reposition it. I couldn't understand why he wouldn't simply lean forward or move his scanner instead of commanding me around like I was his servant. He insisted I cooperate to make it easier for him to scan. One of the return boxes I brought wasn't sealed with tape. After scanning the return code of it, he told me I'd have to pay $1 for packaging. I asked if he could just lend me some tape so that I could tape it by myself. He snapped, "No! That's my tape!" I was shocked, but said I would return another day with the box properly sealed. I then asked him if I could at least take the return label he had already printed. He refused again, saying, "No! That's my paper," and tore the label in front of me and threw it away. I was stunned by how immature and petty this behavior was--especially since that printed label was of no use to him, and he could've simply handed it to me. But instead, he chose to destroy it out of what seemed like spite. Worst of all, because the return code had already been scanned, the return was marked as processed--even though the item was never actually shipped. This staff member's rude, unprofessional, and immature behavior is damaging the reputation of this UPS store in Wellesley. I am deeply disappointed by the way I was treated. read more

I paid to ship a box from this store. I got a call a few days later that the package was damaged somewhere in Connecticut and had been returned. The store was asking me to pick it up, repackage it, and pay again for shipping. My claim to investigate was denied. This was 100% their mistake, their damage, yet they are able to pin it on me because they know I have no recourse. Shame on you, UPS franchise, UPS carrier, UPS in general. I called them to get assistance with finding their location and was told they have been in the same location for 21 years. When I called concerned, she admitted to using an old shipping label (legal?) and taking the box from recycling bin and HANDING it to a driver to bring to my house! And my return is missing. Conveniently, Rose offered to sell me the tape in exchange for taking my packages. I think I'll be switching my business to a UPS that doesn't teach its employees to make money through coercion... This place is a total scam. I asked for a box and they charged me $23 and wouldn't even tell me what for until the receipt printed. I was very clear I wanted to ship as inexpensively as possible. They refused to tell me what they were selling me when I asked. Complete scam. $8 "fee" to stick my stuff in a box! I even brought my own materials so I wouldn't have to pay for anything besides a box. Even the box charge was ridiculous - nearly $10 for a small box. Some of the employees are fine (the younger ones), but there is one older lady who is on the bigger side and she is about as rude as they come. Don't even get me started with the older gentleman with glasses. He is rude, resentful, and outright mean to his customers. If they hate life so much, they need to find a job that doesn't have them interacting with customers. More importantly, they are not competent and lose packages all the time. True story. I needed to get a document notarized. So I looked on-line at places that offer notarization services, and this one came up along wit ha few others in Waltham. Seeing that this was closest to work, I figured I could swing by and get the document notarized - but then the official website mentioned you need to 'make an appointment'. No big deal! I just chose the time that worked the best, had the papers together and figured "sweet! I can get it notarized AND sent out at the same time." Makes sense, right? Yeah - too much sense. I walked in for my 9:00 appointment, the folks there greeted me. THen I mentioned my appointment, to which they said they do not offer notary services. Which was pretty strange considering the official website not only stated they offered it, but also that you have to schedule an appointment for it! Confused, I looked at the two people, who have clearly done this multiple times yet for some unknown reason refuse to address it on the website, turned and walked out the door. So why do they even get 2 stars instead of one? They at least pointed me next door to a nice bank that was very helpful with the needed notarization. So - they at least did that. But they really need to change the services they offer since... you know... they don't offer it. read more

Visited the UPS on Washington St in Wellesley MA to drop off Amazon return packages. The woman at the front desk asked if I were a personal or business account; when I said it was personal, she scowled and her tone turned negative and she started ignoring me. When I asked for shipping sleeves - standard for all other UPS locations - she said they would not provide sleeves and I would have to purchase tape specifically from them. She was rude about it, wouldn't explain why their policy is different from every other UPS, and when I suggested sleeves are standard in other UPS locations, she said flatly, "You can take your business elsewhere." I am taking her advice and would not recommend this location EVER. I never leave negative reviews but this was such a terrible experience I simply had to share. read more

I cannot say enough great things about the Wellesley UPS store and Stuart and Jake in particular. They have always been friendly and professional, and my Golden always loves to go with me because she gets biscuits. I needed Stuart's help recently with two projects, and he was amazing.  First, I was sending my clients holiday gifts and talked to Stuart about mailing cost and logistics. He ordered the right size envelopes for the gifts, and he made it so easy for me by packing everything up, saving me so much time. A week later, I had printer problems, and Stuart came in an opened the store early to help me with making multiple copies of a time-sensitive report. He saved the day. He did so with a sense of humor and smile. I am so impressed with their service. They care. That matters. read more

I experienced a similar scam to a prior reviewer, wherein the counter person tried to charge me to provide a mailer for a pre-printed UPS labeled package. Of course, these are free, everywhere in the universe, at both Fed Ex AND UPS Stores. I left in a huff and took my package to the nearby Boylston Store, having (of course) no issues whatsoever. Afterward, I called UPS corporate to complain and to get this unfair and deceptive business practice rectified. The representative at UPS (corporate) assured me that he had never heard of this before, and he took down my information and said that he'd take care of the issue. So, my advice is that is you need this service and get a similar line of garbage from the counter person, that you call UPS corporate right from there and address the issue while in store. Despite the fact that each UPS Store is franchised, they are subject to certain standards. If they don't meet them (as this shenanigans of an activity certainly does not), they are at risk of losing their right to use the UPS name. That's exactly what I intend to do. read more

This UPS store is honestly the best one I have done service with. I ship a lot of packages for clients and so I am always at a UPS. The staff here is so friendly and are very speedy. I don't think I have ever waited in a long line at this location. They are super easy to work with and have always provided solutions to some unique shipping requests. Who wants to spend their Saturday morning going to a UPS store only to find that the services advertised AND that one has made an appointment for, are actually not offered? I needed to get a document notarized. The store's website notes that it offers this service and allows one to make an appointment for the service. I did this. Then I trekked all the way to the store on the day of my appointment, to find that no, they do not offer the service at all. I was given some sorry story about how they couldn't update their website to accurately reflect their services. Really? DON'T fall for the lies. Just like the review 10/29/2014, they continue to tell people they have to buy supplies even when they have the prepaid label. I came in with my label, tape and what I needed to send. When I asked for a UPS envelope so that I could send it, he stated over and over they do not offer free shipping supplies. There was no misunderstanding- I even described the envelope. I showed him my label and he still told me I had to buy an envelope. He said "in all his 20 years UPS has never given out free shipping supplies." I left thinking I was crazy, until I googled it when I got into my car.
