I have never posted a negative review on Yelp, but today we had a terrible (unacceptable) experience with 'Rose' the the Wellesley UPS store. She was unhelpful, rude, and did not want to help my daughter use our UPS account for shipping, she was only interested in charging us the higher rates. The bad service provided byt this store reflect poorly on the excellent UPS customer service credentials. Please do not patronize this store. read more

I have never in my life left a 1 star review, but it appears there is a first for everything. Here Goes: A colleague dropped off a package at 12:30 pm on a Tuesday, to be shipped overnight with a label we generated. The package was not delivered on Wednesday. When we checked tracking it was never scanned. She went back to the store Wednesday afternoon and was told it was sent and it wasn't their fault it wasn't scanned. We also tried calling multiple times, and they never answered the phone and on Thursday morning, we filed a claim with UPS that it was missing. On Thursday afternoon, she went *back* to the store, they said "oh we found it", and sent it out...a full 48 hours after it was dropped off. in order to obtain any recompense from UPS, I need proof the package was dropped off on Tuesday. I called the store again to follow up, and was told since we didn't make the label with them, it was "our problem and our issue" and they did nothing wrong...despite the fact there was confirmation by them it was still sitting in their store on Thursday. I will never, ever, ever have anyone utilize this location for any shipping needs, and encourage others to go elsewhere. read more

Seems like I had a run in with the same rude lady.. I was carrying arms full of cable equipment to ship and the lady refused to help me. "UPS corporate accounts are down". She did not even bother to double check for me. I called UPS in Needham and confirmed there are no issues nor have there been issues with corporate accounts today. I'll make sure to bring my business to UPS in Needham exclusively from now on. read more

Pretty much what everyone else said. Worst customer service attitude anywhere. If you have an Amazon package and enjoy being insulted, given dirty looks, or scolded for no good reason then I highly recommend this place. NOT A DHL DROP OFF LOCATION! Trying to do business with this place is like entering the twilight zone. After buying a box, tape, and bubble wrap from the store I started to pack my box. The woman who works there says , "You're not packing that in the store are you?" Evidently they have a policy against packing in the store. So I go out to my car, pack my box, come back in the store and try to ship the package. They refuse to take it because it is DHL. Even though the first thing I said when I entered the store was I was shipping DHL and their being listed on the DHL website as a drop off location. read more

I had the absolute worst experience today at this store. I was denied service, turned away. I am a 36-year-old Chinese-American mom of 2, and Wellesley resident. I went to drop off two packages (Amazon returns). The gentleman behind the counter said, "Just so you know these packages won't go anywhere". I didn't understand, so I said, "sorry?" He repeated himself a few more times (and I said "sorry, what do you mean?" a few more times). Finally, he said that, because I had taped the return address label using scotch tape the label would tear off before the package could be delivered. He said that I could pay $1 per package for proper taping. I said that I didn't have any money on me, and before I could add that I would need to get my wallet from my car, he said, "Sure you do, you got a credit card". I went out to my car, and came back with my wallet and offered to pay for the taping. As I was doing so, I told him, "I just wanted to say, if you had said what the issue was upfront, rather than repeating that my "packages wouldn't go anywhere", we could have had a more productive conversation". He said, "Oh really?" I explained to him that I didn't know what he'd meant, I was trying to think whether he meant that planes were grounded (b/c of the Boeing crash) or there was bad weather somewhere. In response, he said, "we're done". I said, "you won't take customer feedback?" He said, "we're done" several more times, and "I'm not doing business with you; take your business somewhere else". This man is the owner/manager of this franchise. His name is Stuart Silbert, and I've since learned that he owns a Canton franchise also. I drove to the Needham UPS, where I was treated with kindness by both people working in the store, including the owner, John. There's a reason why the Wellesley store has 1.5 stars on Yelp and the Needham store has 4.5 stars. What a phenomenal and coveniently located resource right here in Wellesley! The customer service is not only fantastic, but always delivered with a smile. Rose and Darlene are knowledgeable, helpful, efficient, and focused on meeting all your shipping needs. They're dog friendly too and this just adds an extra special touch to my visit, especially when they come around the counter with a warm greeting and a treat. I experienced a horrible inequity as well and won't go here again. They charged the same amount for a 2 lb package and an 8 lb. package. The former was in a small box. Both items were bubble-wrapped. I just called and was hung up on, after being treated rudely. My local store is totally customer friendly. read more

Very expensive. There's this bearded guy that is extremely cranky, ill-educated and also overcharge EVERYTHING. I asked for a receipt for this drop in thing, the guy was on the phone for PERSONAL things and said that I would have to wait until he hang up. I do hope that UPS does something about it, because I will never go back there again, even if I have to walk 3 miles to the closest one at Newton. read more

Strikingly rude and unhelpful staff, they would not take a shipment of many large packages we were trying to just drop off. What do they do on the holidays? I have experienced very good service at UPS stores in other towns. By their own description this is a Mailboxes Etc. Store that they decided to put a UPS sign on. Avoid if possible. read more

Terrible experience! We walked into the store and this twenty year old threw his arms in the air in anger for interrupting his lunch. Then he was a complete prick the entire time. If that weren't bad enough, this store has a ridiculous policy. Customers are not allowed to pack boxes in the store. Yes, you heard me right, no packing in a packing store. There's even a sign on the counter that says they only ship ready-to-go boxes. That is unless you want to pay an insane amount to have them do it. Customers are forbidden to do it themselves on store premises. They will literally make you go out onto the sidewalk to pack it if you don't pay for their "service". I even got a picture of the sign to post online. Bill was $140 for 2 ground shipped packages. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would! They are the only franchise that charges a dollar to receive an Amazon return box. Previously , they said that the dollar charge was to tape a box. When I attempted to send a box that was already taped I was told that the Dollar was the charge to send the box to Amazon. This is the only UPS store to charge for a pre-labeled Amazon return. The owner apparently instructs the employees to upsell whenever possible. Avoid this UPS store at all costs. I travel 5 miles out of my way to avoid this store even though it's in my neighborhood! read more

I cannot believe the way I was treated in this UPS store. Believe all of the negative reviews. I went to drop off an Amazon package, to which Amazon says I can drop off without a label for $0.00, the lady working says "it's a dollar" and says that the $1.00 is for "labor and materials to tape the package" ok, so I went and taped the package in my car (btw where my mother and newborn were waiting for me). I come back in and the man that was working tells me again it's $1 to ship. I explain that I don't understand because Amazon said it will not cost me to drop off at UPS and I just taped my package to avoid their "labor and materials". He started a full on rant about how he doesn't go to the meetings where Amazon decides what to charge and that Amazon doesn't pay for their business (yikes- displaced anger at Amazon??). I said "I'm not sure why you are being so rude, you're telling me what your screen says and I'm telling you what mine says". He then screams "I WILL NOT TAKE YOUR PACKAGE" (I already paid and he printed label) "AND IF YOU COME BACK HERE AGAIN I WILL CALL THE POLICE AND PRESS CHARGES". Needless to say, I will never return to this store, for any reason, even before he threatened to call the police. And what is he going to press charges for- me being a woman who speaks her mind? Even better, I go to the Newtonville UPS store, who always has the NICEST person, and there WAS NO CHARGE. On top of harassing their customers, are they also running a scam? It had a minimal amount of dust on it and Stuart refused to touch it and then refused to mail it and called me a dirty person for even brining it in the store. Asked me to leave. My husband was denied service today by "Carly" a white female employee. When I called to find out why, she told me she can deny service to anyone for "any reason." When I asked why she denied service to my husband, Carly said she "didn't like his attitude." My husband is a very mild-mannered, Harvard-educated professional. He was in the store with our two African American daughters. I think he was denied service based on race. These people are beyond rude -- they are truly despicable. read more

After another disappointing experience in this Wellesley UPS Store, I drove to the Newton Store on 321 Walnut Street. What a stark difference. Whereas the Wellesley store was a dump, the Newton store was clean and sleek. Whereas Justin Savage was rude and unhelpful, Tom in the Newton store was gracious and most helpful. I'll leave to others here to opine on Justin's fee practices. But in the category of "life is too short", I'd rather go out of my way to find "real" customer service than to suffer what Mr. Savage has to offer as Office Manager in the Wellesley UPS Store. read more

This is my least favorite UPS store. They overcharge and charge for an extra piece of tape, s drop off, etc. they are taking advantage of the zip code and that is disgusting. Not to mention the staff is not that friendly. Go to the UPS store in Natick on RT 9. The owner is lovely and very helpful! Worth the extra 5-10 minute drive! read more

This place is awful. Be wary of hidden fees. The last time I was there they charged me $1 for tape PER package (granted I was dropping off prepaid packages so I was kind of okay with this) and a $3 "service" fee. When I asked what the fee was for I was told it was for having to "handle the oversize box." When I pointed out that it was a prepaid shipping and no handling needed (and weighed about 5 lbs.) he quickly changed his mind and told me that the fee was for assembling the box I had just purchased. He clearly had no clue what he was charging me for, but had no problem with NOT mentioning it when I was paying. I suppose I wouldn't even have minded paying the fee if he A) could explain what it was for and B) didn't try to sneak it in without telling me. Just downright thievery. I did give them 2 stars though because in the end he did refund my money (I think I just exhausted him with all of the questions). read more
