From Broadway to the Symphony. you can find an opportunity to discover this theater firsthand. I really enjoy seeing the marquee lit up and welcoming you inside. There is a main bar in the lobby area and I really like the setup of the bathrooms on the basement floor with lounge seating. Acoustics and sounds is great and I really like how they're securing more and more opportunities for El Pasoans to enjoy. An absolute must if you ever have the chance.

It's a little tricky going uphill in the structure. But once you get to the floor where you want to park, there is plenty of parking space without feeling crammed ! The Plaza Theater itself is an old building. But it has really interesting architecture, exterior design and interior design that make it very nostalgic ! The ceiling is very celestial , with a heavenly aura :) ! It was my first time seeing a show there :D ! I watched "Mean Girls" the musical on Sat (4/6) for the matinee showing and absolutely it :D ! It really brought back wonderful memories of the original 2004 movie starring Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams :) ! The Broadway cast was absolutely spectacular :D ! I purchased an orchestra seat for myself since I went solo and got to meet and chat with a super nice family sitting next to me who have season tickets to the Plaza :) ! I didn't really try any of the speciality drinks or snacks. But a lot of people were in line for these! I may try these on a future outing to the Plaza because they have some exciting shows and concerts coming up later this year :D ! I had first heard about them through a menu tasting on the Eastside, but after visiting multiple locations, the Westside is where I've spent the most time--and where this experience really stood out. You can tell they've put a lot of effort into rebuilding after taking over the former Alamo locations. But what really surprised me was the food quality. This is not typical movie theater food. The pizza dough is made fresh daily, sauces are scratch-made, and the menu feels like an actual restaurant, not just concessions. Even their beers are award-winning, and it's clear they care about quality and consistency. I ended up hosting my son's birthday here for about 14 people, and honestly, it was one of the easiest group outings I've done. We ordered everything from our seats, the kids shared refillable popcorn, and everyone had great food the entire time while watching the movie. No lines, no waiting, no juggling trays, and no missing parts of the film. They also have a private room we used for cake, plus games like foosball, which made it really easy to manage a group. Pricing was another surprise. Tickets here were actually cheaper than comparable theaters, even though it may not look like it at first because fees are shown upfront. When I compared the full experience--tickets plus food--it ended up being a better overall value than going somewhere else and just buying snacks. They also honored old Alamo gift cards, which was a really nice touch. As for the 18% service charge, after seeing how hard the servers work, it makes sense. They are constantly moving up and down stairs in a dark theater delivering food so you don't have to leave your seat. That level of service is part of the experience. Overall, between the food quality, service, and convenience, this has easily become one of my go-to spots. Also want to recognize Melissa, the GM, and her team. The concession stand line was longggggg and we waited about 25 mins. We barely made it to the start of the movie and we quickly found our seats. The seats were comfy and clean. We enjoyed the 4D experience and thought it gave the movie an extra kick.

Had an opportunity to see the El Paso Symphony Orchestra this month at the Plaza Theatre and it was…read moresuch a great date night. The symphony had about 80 members who made up the orchestra from harpists to cellists. It was so refreshing to see El Paso and so many El Pasoans really lean into the arts. They did a themed night highlighting Space Odyssey featuring scores from different movies. My fave part was the live music in conjunction with the video visuals and it was just so neat to see it come to life. For this particular experience, they had the UTEP choir there and they sang live within a certain section which really made it immersive. It was just such a moment that I will treasure. I'll definitely be back to see them in action!

His approach to the clavier was magical with gentle and floating fingers. The Piano Concerto No. 3 was absolutely amazing. Beethoven's Symphony No. 3, Op. 55, E-flat Major, posed a hefty second half of the concert. Nathan Black explained ahead of time the connection the piece had to Napoleon Bonaparte - Beethoven was a political fan of the man until he proclaimed himself emperor of France. Audiences could hear the triumph and victory in the piece, particularly with the return of the initial theme. We were here for Xmas and have returned for the turn of the new year to spend together as a family outing. This place is actually super popular with the kids, who love this theaterbecause they say, it's like the other brand theaters they have been to. This place doesn't miss a beat. You can purchase tickets here online through various vendors, or in person. They have adult aged beverages, Icees, 3D video and surround sound. They have a party room and since it's Santikos, I bet it has the summer time movies series that I remember from When we lived in San Antonio. This facility promises the Grand Premiun Experiences which immerses you in surround sound and 4K level, and reclining seats...the only thing that's missing is the button for hearing or silent massage. NDMF is an annual festival held in the city of El Paso currently in the downtown plaza. They shut…read moredown various streets and thousands, I mean thousands, of folks attend the 2-day festival. It's an all ages event but they do focus themselves towards the 21+ crowd. I was a big fan of the VIP area where they had open bar and complimentary food. This year they featured Dos XX, Tito's, Orange Cow Burgers, and a few other options. Personally thought it was cool they had the rehydration tent with IVs and the hair/makeup touches. The teepees had a nice added touch and it was nice to layout on the grass without having to worry being congested like a herd in the general area. There were four stages were 1 was for local artists and the other three featured artists from indie/hip hob/r&b/electronic genres. Some of the featured artists were Nelly, J Balvin, Alesso, Hardwell, Ghostland Observatory, and Foster The People. Honestly being at a festival like this you're bound to get hungry so I was quite pleased to see the wide vary of food available from local spots including Crave. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and had a fun time.

Beyond being one of the largest (if not THEE largest), NDMF is executed pretty well and there's a range of things to do while there. I only have two gripes with the whole thing and that's the food/drinks and kids, but we'll get to that later. The lineup is usually pretty good and always has a mix of genres. The silent disco is where it's at. You throw on some head phones and you can click between two DJs. Then you dance the night away. It's actually kind of funny to see if you don't know what you're looking at since everyone is dancing and laughing, but you can't hear anything. Oh and the silent disco is usually under an open tent so you can get out of the sun for awhile without missing out on the actual festival. I wasn't able to check out each and every single vendor this past NDMF, but some of my favorites were the Henna Tattoos by Lu-E Fresh (they look good and they last a long time), the Mattress Firm tent (just lined with a ridiculous amount of mattresses that you can hang out on), the Southwest University mobile photobooth (also where you can get free paletas), the El Paso Electric Tent (charging ports galore, but you'll get out of there faster if you have your own cord), the Malibu House (drinks and flash tattoos), and the Tidal booth (where you feel like you're connected to Beyoncé). The food is where I get a little hung up. It's always overpriced, but I think that has to do with the businesses needing to recoup their cost after paying for a space at NDMF. I try to eat before I go so that way I'm only getting a couple of things here and there. I also think there could be a bigger selection of food with more vendors because they definitely have the space. If the food is overpriced, the drinks are unaffordable. My biggest recommendation is stick to the big names when it comes to drinks. There are tents that sell NDMF's drinks and can utilize any number of sponsored liquors/beer, but if those sponsors have an actual booth go to their booth instead. I bought some kind of adult lemonade from a NDMF tent and it tasted like straight lemon water... no alcohol, no sweet, just lemon water. And I even told the bartender no ice because when I found out it was over $8 for a regular cup of a mixed drink, it was a little disappointing when the cup was loaded to the brim with ice. For the same amount I spent at that tent I bought a frozen Piña Colada at the Malibu House that was not only big, but also delicious! Know where you're going to get the most bang for your buck. I just want to touch on the kiddo thing. While you are allowed to bring your kids to this festival, don't do it. It's like taking your kid to a bar... like yeah, you can do it, but the other patrons will give you that look. And actually I'll give you a list of reasons you shouldn't bring your kids: - Almost all of the crowd is 21+. - Booze, cussing, and possibly some other things that you might not want your kids around. - No kids areas... nope, you will not find a bounce house. - It's loud. - As an adult this is a wonderland so you'll probably want to walk around the whole festival, your kid will not. Just don't bring your kids. And if your kid begs you to take them because they're twelve and want to see JUST one of the performers, but they need you to take them... DON'T DO IT. They can wait until they're eighteen and they can go by themselves. This is the place to be during Memorial Day weekend if you're in EP. There's so much going on there like the skate park, live art, food, drinks, and of course music. They usually come out with the lineup a few months before the event, but you can score the best price on tickets if you buy them before then.

Movies on the Fly isn't the first car cinema to pop up during Covid, but the first one at the Coliseum had a crappy movie lineup and insane prices that kept us away. There's a lot to like about Movies on the Fly: solid movie lineup, nice location, reasonable price ($30/car) and my favorite part, you can bring your own food and drinks. We went to see Ghostbusters with the kids and it was a fun experience: getting in and out was easy, we got a good spot, and the projection & audio were great! The only drawback were idiots constantly turning on their headlights or beeping their vehicles, luckily the staff was on it. Pretty cool event, highly recommend if you miss going to the movies or have never experienced drive-ins.
