Great food, very friendly staff, cute small little cafe with highchair and books which was amazing with a baby!

The service was really bad. Exceptionally bad. and the wait-time was really long, extremely long for the level of business.

Thought I would try this place out because it's convenient from work. * Burger ordered "medium" was raw in the middle. * Bacon was kinda limp. * Fries were pretty good. * Coffee was ok. WAY overpriced even if the burger had been cooked right. I will not be returning. read more

The review below was a mistake . It was supposed to be for the Valley Pub . Actually have gone to Valley cafe which was pretty good . The waitress was the owner and first impression was that she was a rude b*tch but she came and spoke with us and she was nice . I went in there today for some breakfast. The tap water tasted and smelled like strong chemicals. I'm not sure how they served it without smelling the wafting chemicals. I wanted to call afterwards but they had already closed. I had to check Yelp to see if anyone else had complained (my husband smelled the cup and couldn't believe how bad it smelled in the coffee! He thinks we should get it tested!) I'm not sure if the water company treated the public water supply and added way too much of something? I'm seriously worried that I actually drank some. If you go here do NOT order tap water or coffee. I'm telling you something is wrong! read more

Food is excellent. Fresh ingredients made to order. Not a packaged or processed item in sight. Excellent hollandaise on the benedict. Thick sliced ham versus deli Canadian bacon. Country omelette with plentiful chunks of kielbasa and thick cut sourdough bread. Well seasoned home fries. Tea bread and other baked goods sourced from local bakeries. We had grilled peach cobbler bread that was out of this world delicious. Yum. Service is excellent. Place is spotlessly clean. Staff is attentive and passionate about their restaurant. Small crew so can see it getting tough during high traffic times but they clearly care and give their best. Family owned and operated for the last ten years. We will be back for some fresh roasted turkey sandwiches! read more

One of my favorite places. Charming atmosphere. Love the paninis and the onion rings were amazing... although, that was a while ago. They've been updating the menu so I'm not sure if they still have them. Breakfast is good too. Breads are delicious and the ham is so tasty (and I never order ham out for breakfast). Only complaint is the potatoes. Not a fan of the spice/herb blend for the homefries and they apparently don't know what "well done" hash browns are. See pic. The food was decent. The omelette was stuffed but the portion of potatoes were small. When I asked the server about what kind of toast he so politely referred me to the top on the menu.( truly felt like I bother him.) Signs posted in the restaurant where odd. One sign stated the most important thing is me. And one stated cant please everyone and today is not your day and tomorrow probably isn't either. Horrible - rude waitress who laughed in our faces at the fact that we couldn't eat certain things the meal came with and said the kitchen wouldn't be happy with the edit to our orders. My husband and I went there for breakfast today and were the only ones in the restaurant. There was no butter at my table, so I took one from another table and the owner/server yelled from across the restaurant that now she would have to throw everything from the dish away because I touched it. By that logic, she would have to throw everything from our table away as well? She claims that she sanitizes everything from tables that have been used by customers but for some strange reason the dish I touched from the table next to me needed to be thrown out?? I stopped in after an appointment to pick up coffee and a pastry. It was close to lunchtime, so I ordered a quiche and home fries to go as well. The coffee was hot and the pastry was fresh and tasty. There were several different kinds of quiche offered, but I opted for the crab one. That was delicious and had lots of crabmeat. The home fries were plentiful and made well. The service was quick and pleasant. I will definitely stop by again. read more

When I go to a breakfast place - I automatically assume that it will be a badly lit, dirty joint with grumpy waitresses and greasy every thing. The valley cafe is everything that you don't expect from a hometown breakfast place. The decor was quite lovely. The lightwood chairs were high quality, clean, and really comfortable. The photos on the walls are all by local artists - and they are AMAZING. The photos are for sale, too! The waitstaff were total pros - our coffee never even reached half-empty before someone was there to refresh it, but they weren't overbearing either. When they came to the table, they were pleasant and helpful, but they didn't stand there chat needlessly. Now for the food - my homefries were incredible. They were nice and crispy, the portion wasn't too large or small, and they were seasoned with more than just pepper and paprika. Excellent. I think that the best part of my meal, oddly enough, was the toast. The cafe is just two store-fronts down from The Daily Bread, so I'm fairly certain they get their bread from their neighbors. It tasted like it was baked just a few hours earlier, it was perfectly toasted, AND they had peanut butter for the toast. That counts for double bonus points in my book. Good breakfast. Cute place. Just like the first reviewer, my friends and I stumbled across this place by accident and were more than happily surprised with not only the service but more importantly the food. Everything is made in house including muffins, soup, and the salads. The waitress said that the paninis are what they are known for in terms of lunch, so the majority of us ordered those. The nice surprise came with the home cooked turkey (instead of lunch meat), even if it meant that there were some bones to be picked out along the way. The fries were very good, and they also have an option of sweet potato fries (not listed on the menu). With a cute diner feel and some yummy food, this place is definitely a surprise find. read more

I've gone here a handful of times this past year and I really tried to like this place but the bottom line here is that the food is just not very good. No, I haven't tried anything from the breakfast side of the menu, which I have only heard is very nice. I've had two different kinds of paninis here and both were not great. The turkey meat they used in one of the sandwiches was basically inedible. The soups are fine but not fantastic. Weirdly enough the best food in this joint are the pickles. I really should figure out what kind they are. The upside is the waitresses are super friendly, almost to the point where I feel a little bad giving this place such a low review. The Valley Cafe is a great breakfeast, lunch and Friday only dinner restraunt that has awesome food; but the best part of the place are the warm and friendly staff that treat you like good family. Our family enjoys Friday fish nights when they are open til 8 PM. We have not had any bad experiences and visit at least 3 times a week. Your average breakfast place. They ave the best toast ever, I believe it is homemade there. They have a great menu and usually have specials on the weekend, which always look great. This is a great looking little restaurant with a lot of charm and a decent menu. It had a lot of potential... The Good: I had a veggie omelette with cheese. It wasn't pretty looking bit it was loaded with fresh veggies and tasted very good. The Bad: Cold home fries (and maybe 8 of them on the plate) and one slice of toast. Disappointing. The Ugly: The place wasn't busy yet the service was slow and inattentive. When I asked for a coffee refill I got a "yup" and an eye roll. Not a good first impression whatsoever. read more

I recently moved to Northbridge and newly discovered the Valley Café. It's a great little place for a weekend brunch. There are the usual suspects on the breakfast menu but I opted for the pancake special (pumpkin) and was not disappointed. They were served with a side of maple butter that was tasty. The service is friendly - made us feel like regulars even though it was our first time. The dining room was clean, well-kept and everything seemed relatively new. We'll definitely be back! read more

They close at 2:00 and I got there a little before 1:40, I was waited on immediately. The place was a good temperature with some cute outdoor seating too. I ordered takeout and it came very quickly. I paid and left before 1:45. I got the turkey pesto panini and it was just good, I wish they had spread the pesto out more. But I liked the wheat bread with the grains on the side, and I liked the mix of white and dark meat. could have been more tomatoes but that's alright. I got a turkey pesto panini with fries ($9.06), and a 99 cent dessert because it has to be $10 for debit card use. Great waitress, quick food. read more

It's kind of funny... I feel like you need to be in the mood to not be the most important person in the world when you visit this place because you will not be treated like the most important person in the world. Honestly, I'm good with that. The food has always been solid, reasonably priced, and flavorful. The service? That seems to be the complaint of most people and honestly, I find their service to be fine. The owner(s) are friendly but honest and down to earth. You can kind of understand (her) plight if you just talk to her a bit. It's a really tough business to be in and I've seen quite a bit of entitlement walk through the door over the years. MOST guests are courteous and friendly, but some.... oy. They just are not. People seem put out by the min requirement for credit/debit (which there is a sign for... and it's actually reasonable b/c there are significant fees involved with credit/debit purchases, never mind the paperwork/reconciling that is involved - and yes, it's all part of doing business but it's A LOT of work for a small business like this one). They are doing more work/same work with less people due to the cost of employing folks. It's just a hard business to be in. So I find her to be very "real" and actually, very personable if you get her chatting. ANYWAY... the food is good and the atmosphere is nothing more/less than I expect from a quaint downtown cafe. I'm quite happy coming here! Oh, and the muffins are delicious! Come down to this part of Northbridge and enjoy the small shops and a nice breakfast or lunch! read more
