I had the fried tenderloin filet sandwich with Cole slaw, and the owner threw in a few pieces of fried catfish, since I was a first-time customer. Both were superb! The tenderloin was very tasty. For me, catfish is either a hit or a miss. This was a home run. If I'm ever passing through Petersburg again, I'll be back!

I had a "small" double cheeseburger (supposed to be 1/4 lb, I would venture to say they're closer to 1/3 and thick) and they were both done throughout for such a thick patty, yet juicy and not burnt in the edges. My Mac and Cheese bites were a little underdone but still had flavor and were good. Overall yes, there was a wait but the amount of food reflected the price we paid and was good. Nice little diner here in Petersburg and we are happy to have it so close to home!

I would've given a five star review but the service was very slow and 2 stars at best. It could have been more prompt and efficient. We waited for seven minutes before our first acknowledgement by our waiter/ server. It was just my girlfriend and myself. Once the waiter finally came to the table and took our order a lot time had lapse. Never once did come to ask how the food was once our main entrée was delivered. He asked how everything was when he presented the check. During the wait for him to return to the table to take our dessert order, there was a bus boy at the nearby table clearing another table. I asked him to take a plate that was left on our table and he said that the servers job I don't do that. I told him no you need to take it now and he gave me a rather rude look and stare. The intervals from which the waiter came back to the table was very long. It would've helped if the chairs had been padded but they were hard with like school room chairs. The dining room was decorated very nice and the decor and artwork is very tasteful. Music was a little loud. The food was exceptionally good from the appetizer to the main course to our dessert. It was exceptional. That is five stars ONLY - The service really was a lot to be desired for a good tip and review.

Having grown up in PA, I'm very familiar with "Pennsylvania Dutch" or Amish and Mennonite cooking. I would characterize this style of cooking as hearty, simple, and high-calorie comfort food. The buffet included three main sections. The first included two soups (chicken noodle and vegetable), salad bar items, prepared salads (such as coleslaws and broccoli salad), and some gelatin molds. The second station was hot items (meats, gravies, vegetables). Finally, there was a dessert station with an assortment of cobblers, cookies, cupcakes, soft serve ice cream, and more. I noticed other patrons with homemade white bread but I somehow missed it on the buffet. Overall, there was a good selection of items available. I most enjoyed the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, broccoli salad, and berry and peach cobblers. The biggest misses were the chicken noodle soup (which didn't seem to contain any chicken pieces, was only lukewarm, and very over-salted) and the chocolate ice cream, which was runny. My husband and I found the food to be generally bland. (Granted, Amish food isn't known to have a spicy profile). In addition, they didn't offer some foods and desserts that I generally associate with Amish cooking -- pickled eggs, Harvard beets, macaroni and cheese, cinnamon apples. shoo fly pie, apple dumplings, fry pies, Whoopie pies, etc. (Admittedly, the traditional Amish foods in the Midwest may differ from those in Pennsylvania). The restaurant had a lot of seating and was clean, and had a cute gift shop that you passed through on the way in and out. Our server was sufficiently attentive. Parking was free and plentiful. The all-you-can-eat lunch buffet was $16.99 per person; drinks not included.
