One of their employees wearing a cheetah mask tried to fight me and 3 of my friends. Gave us bad looks all night and told us to leave "his place as of work". Food and drinks were great but customer service was definitely below par. Would not recommend. The Veil is killer. Different from other breweries in a really nice way. Three stories with three bars (there might be more) and very comfortable. I never had to wait for a drink on a pretty busy Friday night. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The beer is different but everything I had was flavorful and not just kick you in the face strong. Haven't tried the food but can't wait for next time. read more

So fun! Love the options and unique variety. It's 3 levels and the very top has a great view of the railroad district.

Street parking wasn't too bad and fortunately it wasn't very crowded during the week so we had no wait to get in. All of the beers were really good, nothing super traditional and a lot of added fruits and things but I was a big fan. We went for the first time last week and we were impressed. Great selection of beers and sort of non beers that suited both of us. Big inside. No trouble getting a table but the tables are big so there will be others sitting near you. Upper levels are available but there is no elevator. The real winner was the food from Codex which is right next to the area to order beer. There is counter service only for food and drinks but they did pick up our tray when we were done eating. Had heard of Codex food but never tried it. The burgers and the pickle bowl were great. I'm still thinking about that burger. So good. Helpful staff. Oh yes it was COLD inside. So excited to see the Veil come to Norfolk! My roommates and I love trying out breweries in the area. I am not a huge beer fan, but I really appreciate their variety of beers! Great brewery with long list of beers and and the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. 3 story industrial looking building with casual seating throughout. Came here on a rainy Saturday afternoon, great place to hang out. Lots of space - it's a three storied building that was completely renovated. They have bars on all 3 floors which is very convenient. I had one of their berry smoothie beers, very tasty! Large selection of beers, also had ciders and wine. They partner with Codex for food, the menu looked awesome, will definitely try it next time. We love fruity beer so when we saw the options we were very excited. They had a bunch of choices to select from. Each better than the other. They also have a cider that is very good and apple of you are afraid of glutens or have sealyacks disease. Veil brewery gives you 12 Oz pours and charge Harbor Park prices. This place used to be good back in Richmond. But eventually it got too trendy and the consumer now gets less fluid ounces per beer and pays more. The trend of breweries or beer places charging more per beer to cover for the overhead costs of the ambience is not preferred. read more

First time here. The restaurant has a hipster theme to it but it doesn't dissuade people beyond the target age group to enjoy the food and atmosphere. Menu board very easy to read regarding drinks and employees are especially helpful. Food was prepared in a timely manner and highly recommend their Codex Burger and fries. Only criticism is newcomers don't know how the restaurant works exactly regarding seating and ordering food. They're helpful when asked but my friends and I stood around for a few minutes and in the wrong line when trying to order food and be seated. read more
