It has been almost one week since I've had my wedding at this wonderful venue. Don't let the outside fool you, this venue is so spacious! The high ceilings, natural wood floors and amazing brick wall is the perfect backdrop for pictures! I got to work with Ariell & Katie which were the most amazing woman I have worked with during this entire wedding planning process (3 years of planning) After our first view couldn't hold our wedding due to not surviving the covid pandemic, I was stressed and panicking. My now husband mentioned the speakeasy so I looked it up and emailed Ariell, she responded that same day and proposed several dates for us to meet. We made 3 other appointments for after our appointment at the speakeasy and cancelled them mid meeting. It was love at first site. We said Yes to the venue right then and there. There is something magical about this place, and the staff make it their number 1 priority to make sure all your visions come true and exceed it! I hope all our friends and family choose to get married here cause I love this venue that much! The most important thing is their pricing is so affordable & flexible! If I could keep gushing about this venue this review would never end! This is the best place to hold your event!!! My wedding was held here on March 4, 2017 and it came out absolutely perfect thanks in part to the staff at Speakeasy. Back in October my fiance and I decided to move our wedding forward from July to March for career-related reasons, and our original venue wasn't available. I assumed that the Speakeasy would not be affordable to us because it is absolutely gorgeous and in a desirable location, but my fiancé did all the leg work on his own, and found out how affordable it was and how great and accommodating the staff was. Ariel helped us get everything for our wedding, including an excellent-priced package deal set up, and was very professional and efficient with answering all of our questions and emails. She helped me nail down so many details before I had my coordinator in place. Wedding planning can be very stressful, but I never felt stressed out in any way regarding our venue and package. The space is absolutely beautiful and so rich in history and uniqueness. Our guests continue to contact us and rave about it. The space was everything I asked for. They let us use some of their glass ware as decor and offer very nice cocktail tables for rent at an affordable rate. I am so glad that we chose this venue for our wedding! read more

My husband and I just got married here a couple of weeks ago and we could not have been more happy with our choice in venue. The Speakeasy on State was the perfect venue for us! It was affordable which was extremely appealing, but I fell in love with the charm of the space. We got married in the Colombia room and moved into the Ballroom for the reception (we placed some cocktail tables and the photobooth in the Colombia room afterwards). We had just under 150 guests so it was a little tight in the Colombia room (I really wanted to get married in a half moon underneath their gorgeous chandelier so some guests had to stand). But there was definitely plenty of room once we opened up the ballroom for cocktail hour/reception. The wedding package (which I thought was well-priced) we chose included a number of vendors and a specific number of items we could get from each vendor. I met with each vendor early on and it felt like they were in constant communication with each other and the Speakeasy. Dawn and Ariell were wonderful and attentive - addressing my questions via e-mail within 24 hours (which I think is a reasonable amount of time). We visited the space a handful of times before the wedding including for our wedding rehearsal and each time, they made sure that our questions were answered or that they would follow up with us in a timely manner (which they did). The only con to using this venue is that parking can be difficult. There is the Redlands Mall by CVS, an underground parking structure that no one really knows where it is, and a parking structure across from Martha Greens. I made maps available on our wedding website to our guests prior and made sure they knew ahead of time and encouraged them to carpool. If you do this, parking shouldn't be that big of an issue (although be careful on Thursdays becasue Market Night happens on State St. and they close that street down). Oh, and I should mention that it is upstairs but there is a lift in case anyone needs assistance. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with hosting an event at the Speakeasy on State. Dawn and Ariell were fantastic to work with and while this event space is relatively young, they are professional, efficient, and there's just something about these ladies that make you feel like they know what they're doing! It's definitely worth checking out in person, because the pictures aren't enough to show you how beautiful and unique this space is. read more

We fell in love with the Speakeasy the second we found it. We did not have our reception there due to COVID, but they were super flexible and supportive during everything. Having a wedding during a pandemic was not what anyone wanted, but they helped make it memorable and beautiful. They are seriously one of the best venues around and super affordable. My daughter's wedding and reception were at this AMAZING venue in historic, downtown Redlands. Beautifully restored rooms, vintage chandeliers and wall sconces, pristine hardwood floors, and authentic sliding pocket doors (complete with shotgun openings!) make this site a true Speakeasy. Arielle and Dawn are kind, attentive and cooperative. The do require that specific vendors are used, and if you go crazy with decór like we did, you will need extra time for setting up. Because there is no fully equipped kitchen, serving a full buffet meal like we did was challenging. All I can say is CORBETT'S CATERING--look no further! And CUCAMONGA CAKERY--the best tasting, the most stunning cakes ever!!! (Both of these are recommended vendors!!!) We chose NOVELTY EVENTS from the approved vendor list--having a separate coordinator is also required. We did our own design, hiring and set-up, but Melissa and Tanya ran the show, fixed all the glitches, and kept this mother-of-the-bride from FREAKING OUT! Highly, highly recommend. My husband and I were looking for a place in Redlands to get married. We had an idea of what we wanted and what our budget was. We came across the Speakeasy and emailed Dawn. I was so surprised that she responded so quickly and had an appointment to view the venue within days! We met with Dawn at the Speakeasy and fell in love. Dawn is so sweet and professional and the venue to beautiful. We were fortunate enough to do the all inclusive package and we are so happy we did. When I spoke with other people about our venue and vendors they would say "You have a dream team!" And they couldn't have been more right. This venue is absolutely stunning and the support staff made the whole thing so easy! You can't ask for more! The lighting and flooring and ambiance almost eliminates the need for any actual decor. My husband and I were married here last summer and we are so glad we went with the speakeasy over anywhere else. This place is new to town this year and the wife and I love it. Probably the best location in downtown Redlands with a building very rich in history. We attended the Halloween party and we had a blast. The food was awesome along with the festive decor. The bar and bartender were awesome and the drinks were perfect. We painted the dance floor all night long and even had two instructors from a local dance company teach us Thriller step by step! Can't wait to attend another party here!!! read more

The Speakeasy on State was a dream come true for us. We had been searching for a unique venue space for our wedding that had both character and history, but without the crazy price tag. It was a tall order and we were much more particular than we had imagined! We were running out of options. By a stroke of luck (or fate), we came across the Speakeasy on State before it had officially opened. Even before stepping into the space, we were sold just on the way Dawn treated us alone: she was kind, accommodating, and always got back to us immediately. This, we realized, is extremely important when planning a big event like a wedding. The last thing you want is stress when it comes to the logistics of the big day. At Speakeasy, you don't have to worry about the little things. You can rest assured they will get back to you right away and ensure all is settled. Once we walked into the venue... it was all over. The historic space is beautiful, has charm, and is completely unique. We fell in love with the venue's location in downtown Redlands, which mirrored the look and feel of our own hometown (not to mention it made for fantastic pictures!) The open floor plan of the Speakeasy allows you to get creative when it comes to the style of your event, and Dawn and Ariel will do everything they can to make your vision come to life. From the little pastries Ariel brought us when were getting ready in the morning, to support throughout the day and help with cleanup, I really can't thank Dawn and Ariel enough. The Speakeasy staff is wonderful, their preferred vendors are fantastic, and I really can't recommend this venue enough! Thank you to the Speakeasy for playing such a special part in our wedding day! My wife worked with this venue for my birthday party. Paid a lot of money with only the building being rented she had to get her own tables chairs ect. Great location but the owners of the business have a lack of common sense when it comes to dealing with pricing and customer service. I would only recommend this location of new owners that understand how to deal with the public took over. There lack of experience in this area has put them in a situation that expect unreasonable pricing and poor customer service! The word is out on this business. read more

When my wife and I set out about 10 months ago to find a place for our wedding, we knew we wanted it in Redlands and in early September. We had just about found a place, which we both loved, except it was all outdoors. And in September in Southern California, you're pretty much guaranteed unbearable heat. So, we thought we would try looking at a few more places, hopefully with an indoor option, before making a decision. As soon as we walked into the Speakeasy on State we knew we had found the perfect setting for our BIG day. Downtown Redlands newest event space, located above Seed, is a gorgeous, perfectly restored two room setting. We loved the history of it being a functioning speakeasy from 1922-1933. As if that weren't enough, the owners have worked to preserve the magical details of the past including the peep hole in the ballroom pocket door, the red light in the ceiling and the exposed brick walls. We felt the authentic details would only add to our wedding atmosphere. Nine months after saying yes to the Speakeasy, on September 10th, we had the wedding the we could have only dreamed of. We rented out the entire space, using the front room for our ceremony, which was later transformed into the buffet and bar, and the larger ballroom for the reception. The rooms are both beautiful on their own and very versatile and accommodated our theme of a formal garden party very well. As you can see from the pictures attached, we had a somewhat large party of 180 guests in attendance. From the very beginning Ariell, co-owner of the Speakeasy on State, and her husband Chris were extremely generous and accommodating, making a point to check in with us, asking us if we needed anything, and going above and beyond to help out anywhere needed the day of the wedding. They are a very creative team with great attention to detail and offered many helpful suggestions. We would without a doubt recommend the Speakeasy on State to anyone looking for a venue for any event, be it a wedding or formal dinner party in the front room.
