Once, I got a pair of Nike running shorts in perfect condition for a fraction of the original price. Another time, I got some unused/new condition Starbucks double walled flasks for under $5, no jokes. Among the chaos, there is organization, but even then, be prepared to sift through the items. Enjoy this place whenever you're in Squamish, it's a great thrift shop that donates its proceeds to the Howe Sound Women's Shelter.

Like most thrift shops they offer new items weekly, and some of the items are still new with tags. Shopping here allows for products to have a second life, rather than just ending up within a landfill. This location especially can be helpful for those who have just moved to whistler, and need to get house hold necessities like pots and pans and such. With whistler having such a high cost of living this offers a sustainable and affordable option to buying everyday products.

For example, I found an *amazing* fuschia wool dress and jacket combo. It was just a tich too small, sadly. I did find a nice 70's dress that fit amazingly and is virtually brand new, and two books - for the low low low price of $2.70 total! As I was checking out, the lovely lady (who let me stay a good 20 minutes after they closed) told me that tomorrow is their $5/bag day... so I might have to grab that dress after all.

Vancouver's vintage and consignment is already notoriously expensive and caters almost exclusively to a small dress size. Community, a Vintage and Consignment that is run by a non-profit Downtown Eastside housing and resource society not only engages with the neighbourhood it lives in, but also works to diversify its size range to engage with shoppers of many sizes. It hires women from the neighbourhood to work in the business and portions of the proceeds go back into the neighbourhood, which feels great while you shop! The space is small but well utilized and well decorated. Great jewelry by local designers is on display and the clothes have a very consistent and curated turnover rate. And the prices!! Compared to Vancouvers vintage scene, Community is absolutely the fairest price I've found yet. These days even Value Village is getting pricey so to go to a shop where the selection is so well picked out and find something affordable feels great. Again, I'm a plus size shopper who finds an amazing score here 90% of the time. Pieces from Community make up probably 50% of my wardrobe. See you there this weekend!

I usually prefer thrift stores over curated vintage shops like this one, mainly because the prices are definitely on the higher end. However, I feel like you can find cool items much more quickly at stores like this, so there are pros and cons to each type of thrift shop.
