The front desk clerk left at 5 pm, so we were quite concerned our key would not let us back in the hotel after dinner. Thank goodness it did, because the keys didn't work the next mornin, and I would have been locked outa my room. Our room was not cleaned. We only had one towel. Sheets were stained. No toiletries. Not even soap! When I asked Audrey for soap, shampoo and conditioner and towels, I just got one towel, and no just conditioner. Audrey said they had no conditioner, and had no "bar" soap, and then she handed me a partially-used, already opened travel-size liquid facial cleanser. There were two rat/mouse traps positioned under my bedside table. Not a great feeling. The shelf in the shower was broken off and missing. The TV and continental breakfast were a complete waste of time. The leather sofas in the lobby were cracked and worn, and looked like they had sat outside in the sun all summer. Too bad. They made an effort to refurbish the place, but didn't hire the right people to look after it. Sad story and a waste of my money. BUYER BEWARE!

Had purchased a room for a friend to stay over this past weekend and he had trouble with the AC…read more When the issue was brought up to the front desk they let him know there was no solution other than a refund.. they could not put him in another room as the hotel was full. Rather than attempting to sleep in a room with no AC I picked him up and he stayed the night with us in our Airbnb. The following morning (Saturday) he went to his room showered and left the room. Long story short he never once slept in the hotel room which was purchased from Friday - Sunday. Per the Hotel manager since the shower was used there was no option for a refund.. pretty expensive shower $428 to be exact. Poor communication on managements part and pretty disappointed how the entire situation was handled.

Each room is unique and had all the creature comforts we could need. The grounds offer areas of individual respite or group gatherings. I spent quiet moments listening to the contented horses eating breakfast while watching the antics of a pair of cardinals (in addition to the many other beautiful birds all over the grounds). Did not use the pool or hammock but they looked inviting. The food! Sooo good! It's not easy to feed a large varied group such as ours but they did so with flying colors. Always delicious and plentiful and accommodating. We felt spoiled and loved it. The staff is down to earth and genuine and treated us all like royalty. The team of Ross and Lynee enhanced our experience at Kenyon even more. Ross matched each rider to the right horse and offered safe enjoyable riding through the beautiful desert and shared cowboy poetry in the evening. Lynee ensured every single guest had the most delightful experience. True professionals. The ranch is remote enough to feel and enjoy tranquility but very nearby there are opportunities to enjoy art, State and National parks/museums, dining and shopping. There is plenty to do if one chooses. The Kenyon Ranch is good for the soul and we will be back.

He was easygoing, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. We also contacted them at the last minute looking to book a ride. I'm sure squeezing us into the schedule wasn't the easiest thing to do, but they accommodated us anyway and were incredibly gracious about it. We really appreciated their flexibility. The scenery was beautiful and exactly what we were hoping for. The ride took us through some amazing country with great views and a peaceful atmosphere that you just don't get to experience any other way. The horses were calm and easy to ride, and the entire experience felt safe and relaxed. If you're on the fence because you've never ridden before, don't be. We had a great time and would absolutely do it again. It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended.

Positives: The mountain scenery was beautiful…read more The ceremony area with handmade benches and arch was breathtaking. The wedding coordinator, Michael, worked with our wedding planner from sun up to sun down for 3 days to make sure the day was perfect! We can't compliment Michael enough. Negatives: The Bunkhouse and Chalet had severe electrical problems. The home heater was not in working order. We were instructed to use the space heaters in each room. Only two heaters in each 12-bedroom bunkhouse could be plugged in or the breaker would short circuit. If the coffee pot (which overflowed and put grounds in the coffee) and toaster were plugged in, the breaker would short circuit. We made the owner aware of the issues in both houses. We were questioned over what we were plugging in. When we advised of the items being plugged in, we were told there was no way the breakers could have tripped and that there had never been a problem like this. After the event, I found a review from over a year ago, where another guest had advised of the same electrical problems. The Bunkhouse and Chalet floors were very dirty and also lacked a sufficient number of towels for the amount of people staying there. In the commercial kitchen the electrical breaker connected to the oven kept blowing a fuse. We used the grill in the commercial kitchen for the rehearsal dinner. My husband cleaned the grill in the kitchen including the grease trap that was not clean when we began cooking for over an hour. The next day he was told by the owner that he did not get it clean enough. Our food vendor for the wedding ceremony had difficulty cooking the meat due to the oven electrical issue as well. We washed all dishes used in the commercial kitchen even though within our package it stated staff would wash dishes. The banquet room was not cleaned and ready for us to use for the rehearsal dinner. Many things had to be moved and covered with linens. Our guests were asked to help spread gravel at the lodge as well as move a large grill which had caught on fire off the porch. Video was filmed and posted of guests including children, the wedding ceremony, the reception and décor without anyone's permission nor were vendors credited on the video. The Aspen Lodge has been asked to remove the video from their site. Due to a grill fire, there was not a grill available for our cookout at the lodge. We had to supply our own propane for the grill we used, which was located at the chalet far from the dinner space. None of the outdoor heaters had propane the first night we were there. Again, we had to hook up our own propane tank to one of the heaters. The owner finally brought one heater out for us to use that did have propane. He stated loudly in front of our 30 guests that we could use this heater tonight but if we wanted to use the heater at the wedding we would be paying more. We had already paid for use of the heaters in the $12,000 package. Heaters were provided at the wedding ceremony. TV and DVD do not work in either house. The decor that is provided within the package is very limited. Only rectangle tables are available. We were asked if we would donate our wedding light-up wands so the establishment could rent them to future customers.

I take my daughter there for the Sunny Studio art classes and we get to enjoy the Second Sky community space afterwards. The space is quite large as is still in the process of being developed with the help of volunteers and community donations. As of now, the space it like a large warehouse....that is air conditioned! There are tables to sit and hag out, a concessions/snack stand and various interactive indoor activities, such as scooters, a cozy corner that is like a little library with books and couches, digital art and S.T.E.A.M. interactive exhibits. Outside they have the adventure playground that is really incredible! It's also a non-profit with the goal to create a space that serves the whole community. Their big picture, long-term plan is amazing. I've copied/pasted this following information from their digital booklet: "A shaded outdoor adventure playground for hands-on S.T.E.A.M. learning across multiple ages. The setup is lodge-style, meaning that most of the rooms have several beds around the interior perimeter with a central gathering area a separate kitchen, separate bathrooms and at least one semi-private room. The lodge rooms are rented by the room. Not by the person, meaning that big parties receive tremendous value for the dollar. I'm a big fan! This is a huge improvement to the existing lodging facilities here in far western New Mexico.

I was denied a reimbursement for my personal items that were most likely infested according to the exterminator. Although they did offer to wash my clothes. That did not solve my luggage issue. Which i was advised to get rid of due to bug contamination. The employees there were great. They have a great costumer service attitude. I just cant speak much about management and the owners of the hotel. This was no probably the worst situation i have ever been in.
