Looks like they may have cable internet. The Arris modems used by cable companies all have issues with too many MAC addresses causing problems. Easy fix. Put a timer on it. Cycle power at 2-3 AM. No more "cannot connect". Sucked because I had work to do. Overall nice, but if you need connectivity, look elsewhere.

I understand it can be a very dusty town from the mining, but upkeep is important. Online pictures are from when the restoration was first completed 7-ish years ago and don't reflect the aging since. Our bed was the most uncomfortable we've slept in since our young partying college days. You immediately fell into a hole in the bed's center, and mattress is covered by a thick piece of foam to hide the poor condition but made you roast all night. It was beyond bad. But the Hotel in general has got a lot of old historic character which I like. A newer mattress & box spring, and freshened up walls & woodwork would have made our stay much more enjoyable. In its current state the hotel is much more rustic than indicated in AZ Highways and online.

I enjoyed the picnic benches and relaxing scenery/atmosphere, in the back of the hotel. Some mornings, I would see one of the office personnel, rake the rocks/gravel of the entire parking lot. Due to my work related experiences, I asked if it was therapeutic. She informed me, it was to spread the rocks and pick up any potential hazards(screws/etc.., accidentally dropped by workers[guests], etc...). I praised the appearance of the entire parking lot, but mostly the service provided by the office and housekeeping personnel.

What went well: - safe location right off highway 70 - adequate and free parking - breakfast starts before 6 am, and it includes healthy options like fruit and oatmeal - bed in room was comfortable and there was a good desk with lighting What needs to improve: - water pressure is inconsistent, so toilets don't flush properly and showers have a mind of their own - please clean the room properly: there were muddy boot marks on the ottoman - please add a safe to the room - please add teabags to the coffee service in the room Pro tip: If you're here at the recommendation of a client, call the hotel directly and make your booking. You'll save a lot of money. In my case, I paid $369 per night for two nights when I could have paid $179 per night. Total bill was over $840 after taxes and fees. I've paid less for good properties in large metros on both coasts! Will likely be back as they seem to be the best option in town (for now, at least).

I contacted them to inform them that I have a service dog and was flatly denied the ability to bring her. The reason. . . they are more concerned about guests with potential allergies. As picturesque and historical as the town of Mogollon, NM is, it appears that service animal friendly they are not. If you have a service dog and can live without their services then staying at the Silver Creek Inn, will be a fun experience. If you cannot be without your service dog then know, at least one group of Inn owners, considers their guests with potential allergies far more important than breaking ADA and Civilc Rights laws. Before my need of a service dog I visited the Inn and was taken on a tour, by the owners of the establishment. It looks clean, well maintained and the hosts were gracious. I am sad to say that I am not one that will be without my service animal and will not be staying there.

Mogollon is a treasure-trove for people who like history and beautiful scenery and the jewel of Mogollon is the Silver Creek Inn. We stayed there two nights (October 17 & 18) and the experience was wonderful. This old and very historic building was built around 1885 and originally served as a store. It eventually became vacated and sat empty for a number of years until the new owner (Stan) bought it and with the help of a few compadres, restored and converted it into an inn. I can't even imagine the amount of work it took, but they did an outstanding job. My wife and I stayed upstairs in a large and very comfortable room on the northeast corner. The adjoining bathroom was beautifully done and offered me a shower that was easy to step into and out of. The bed was very comfortable and the room quiet offering a great view off of a balcony having a second set of stairs if one wanted to go to the ground floor. Adjoining our room was a library having a lot of shelves and books and a very cool moving ladder that can travel across the front of the selves. The library also has a very beautiful coffee table and more books are kept there having stories about the people who came to Mogollon years ago to find their fortunes in or earn a living in the mines that are in the surrounding area. Our host, Susie was the highlight of our trip up here and worth the long drive just for the pleasure to visit with her. She runs a tight ship and i am glad that after all these years and trips of visiting Mogollon, that I was finally able to spend several nights in this interesting ghost town and this really nice inn.

I explained it wasn't working. she then advised me there was a quick trip gas station just a short distance away that sells ice. then the floor in our room was filthy so being barefooted was definitely not an option. then, did I mention the bugs? daylight was coming in under our door. being an Arizona native,we we were taught never to leave your boots, shoes on the floor, and not your pants or anything. didnt matter. 3) the refrigerator was so iced over it was totally worthless. we'll never ever book a stay there again. used to be notch. now it's a cheap dive.

That's quite disconcerting and probably the sole reason I would never stay here again. I'll just go back over to the Best Western a few blocks to the west because their room keys always work. FYI: If the room keys actually work, this could easily be a four-star budget hotel!
