The Catamaran Sailing and Snorkel Adventure was hands down the best part of our trip to St. Thomas! The crew made the trip so enjoyable and catered to everything we needed. It was probably about a 20 minute boat ride each way. They had bathrooms on the catamaran and if you were standing you needed to wear a mask but they had plenty of spots to sit and you wouldn't need one then. We were able to see turtles and all kinds of cool fish while snorkeling. They take you around and show you the best spots to go so you don't miss anything. After snorkeling we were served drinks the entire ride home and they had snacks. I never had to ask to have my drink refilled they constantly came around checking. They made sure we had the best time and it was truly a great experience! read more

We've been to many catamaran tours but by far this was the worst experience and actually the only bad experience. Took the turtle cove tour, didn't see any turtles. Generally one of the crew guides the guests while in the sea to show areas where fish and turtles or any other sea creatures are but not on this one. No one guided the guests. The captain was the rudest captain we've ever seen. They made you wait under the sun and give the information before you got in the boat, captain thinks he is in army or something. And if you are expecting the average boat food , don't because they will just give you some Doritos kind of chips and raw broccoli & carrots . So sad we spent our time & money to this bad experience. read more

I loved the laid back atmosphere on the boat. Fernando, Brian, Katie, and Captain Joe were all great, they explained all the equipment thoroughly. We saw a sea turtle and Fernando found us a starfish to look at and hold. I would recommend this company for snorkeling. The temp tattoos are a great touch too. read more

We looked at tons of yelp reviews and this one had the best so we opted to give it a try on our first night. They remembered our names, offered to take our pictures, and kept our drinks full. My husband and I went out on a limb and tried taco Tuesday on the cat. We were not disappointed at all! We were surprised to see how many people were also doing the sunset cruise, but we were all able to find a seat and get a good meal. Captain Joe and the team made sure we all had a great time and never had an empty cup in my hand! My wife and I were looking forward to the two-stop excursion and had our reservation paid for and confirmed 3 weeks in advance. Within the week of our tour date, VI Cat called and cancelled our reservation so that they could service an incoming Cruise Ship group. Feels like poor customer service to drop paying customers for the next best thing and proves that their reservation system is anything but a reservation. Easily located at the Marriott and under $70 for 4 hours out on the water, swimming with sea turtles at Buck Island, and including alcoholic beverages and snacks. Total bargain! The staff is very attentive, helpful, and knowledgable about the underwater life. They also offer sunset sails in the evening that provides a casual dinner. Went on their sunset cruise, which had drinks and food served. Staff was fun, friendly, and helpful. Had a great vibe to it and just taking the island in from the boat was stunning. We recommended this to others while we were there. ALso, we went on the 1-4pm turtle snorkeling trip and that was a ton of fun. Again, great staff and there to answer questions and assist you. Went out and snorkled and got to see beautiful turtles. Nice way to be out on the water and it's right on the dock of Frenchman's Reef Marriott, so very conveniently located if you are staying there. read more

Where do I begin? The location of the meet up is hard to get to and confusing. They offered no directions or address. After finding the place - parking was a joke. We almost missed the dinner sail looking for somewhere to park as the garage was completely full. The hike to the dock was comical. 6 flights of stairs and two steep hills, elevator, EIGHT more flights of stairs. We get there to check in and there's SO many people. I thought it would have been a bit more private and romantic. Nope. They serve you copious amounts of "pain killers" which is just rum punch. Which I guess is a good thing? Because the food is ATROCIOUS. they pulled out all these crock pots of random food. I watched as one of the waiters pulled out an already opened bag of tortilla chips - you guessed it - they were STALE. The only decent item was Hawaiian rolls straight from the orange bag. It was a bad pot luck. Lettuce, carrots and broccoli. Rolls. Chicken and BBQ sauce, spare ribs, minute rice, macaroni and cheese (with no cheese), stale chips and canned nacho cheese, and pineapple, nasty meatballs with marinara. They sailed us out maybe 1 mile and turned around where we bobbled in the ocean next to the hotel we boarded the cat from. They turned on music and gave us all temporary tattoos. The night was so bad it caused me and my gf to argue and get into a bad fight. The night was just awful. I was silently crying. We left upset and 140$ (plus tip) poorer. read more

Snorkeling in Turtle Cove was great; lots of turtles to see, just going about their day, and then the fish and coral are an added treat. The sail on the way back is perfect with their deceptively strong rum punch in hand :) Don't miss this opportunity -- it's a great afternoon and helps set the stage for all of the fun to be had in the USVIs. We also spent Christmas evening with the crew for dinner. It was a great traditional Christmas meal, but boy, was the setting better than the family dining room! The snorkel trip left at a reasonable time and the all female crew was very impressive .... You don't travel far from the resort and end up at a cove that was very crowded with other boats and visitors... This review is for the Turtle Cove Snorkel and Sail Adventure at Buck Island National Wildlife Refuge tour. Departing from the dock at the Marriott resort, this is a great way to spend the afternoon. After the required safety briefing you'll be on your way Turtle Cove. The trip out affords great views of the islands and the crew took care of us the whole time. The snorkeling portion was great with plenty of sea turtles, stingrays, and varieties of fish. The time in the water vs the travel time wasn't optimal as you spend about 75% traveling. The sites are beautiful, of course, but more time in the water would be welcome. The crew was outstanding and really made the trip fun for the entire group. read more

This was our first trip to St. Thomas and all I can say is I absolutely loved it!! We didn't get a chance to eat before we boarded the Cat and Joe and Katie gave us the directions before setting sail, and we headed for Buck Island under motor power. We arrived there and they were very hospitable after giving out the snorkel and buoyant vests and fins and were very helpful if we had any problems. We ended up seeing several sea turtles, vast array of colorful fish that were very "finding Nemo Dori" like. and my wife saw one sting ray, the water was so clear and only like 15' deep. They gave us about an hour to snorkel and enjoy the gorgeous day and take all the sights in. Once back on board we received some snacks as we were very hungry and began serving the painkillers(rum and pineapple) that was delicious. We returned back to the Marriott under sail in a very leisurely fashion. The views were just fantastic and the service was nothing short of Amazing!! This was by far the best time we had the whole time in St. Thomas!!! 10 star rating!!! For the money I completely got every pennies worth!! read more

We had a great time on the VI Cat Turtle Cove Snorkeling trip. The dock location at the Marriott has parking and is easy to find. Our captain and snorkeling tour guide were funny and exceptional hosts. We had a great time and saw several turtles and lots of fish. The 1pm boat tour was perfectly timed; as we arrived, the only other boat there was leaving and as we were leaving, five huge tour boats arrived! We had the cove to ourselves for the hour. Only bad thing is that 3 hours flies by!! read more

These guys are the BEST. We booked a sunset sail on our very first night in STT and it was truly the perfect way to kick off our week! Captain Joe, Brian and Mike went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time aboard the Cat. Drinks were constantly being topped off, the taco bar was delicious and we spent two full hours cruising around the Charlotte Amalie harbor to watch the breathtaking sunset. We have already booked round 2, a day trip to St. John for snorkeling (and have talked about booking another sunset sail, as well!). Highly recommend! read more

We took the VI Cat for a snorkeling tour in Turtle Cove while we were here. The island was just opening and this Katamaran tour was the absolute BEST!!! The boat ride on the Cat was great as we made our way to the cove. The staff helped and assisted us with our snorkel gear and provided great guidance. We saw sea turtles, a sting ray, and we had plenty of time in the water to see all the beautiful sea life- the coral and fish were great!!! We also were treated to much attention by the crew- they made sure we had great snacks and plenty to drink. This tour is greAt for kids and adults like. Catie has an awesome personality and Fernando can bust a move. This was such a great trip and we can't wait to come back and do this again! Thanks Captain Joe! LOVED it!!! read more

Where do I begin. This review is in reference to the dinner cruise that takes place in the evening . I'll begin with the good : The crew : nice guys . No issues here. They were accommodating to the guests . ... That's about it . Now the bad : Location :Good luck finding the dock. It's a maze to get to it and you get no instruction from the confirmation email. The boat: fairly small for the amount of people they load it up with. I don't even think there were enough seats for everyone. You won't have any privacy. It's definitely not a romantic evening for 2 if that's what your hoping it will be. The food: they bring out 5 slow cookers with plain American food . We didn't even eat the food but I did not see anyone enjoying it . If home cooked food is your thing that's great but I doubt your happy paying $135 for it . The drinks: it's all well booze and they serve some kind of rum punch. It wasn't strong and frankly seemed like it was 95% pineapple juice. The route: they go about 1 mile off the coast , float around for an hour and a half, do a small semi circle near the hotel and dock afterwards. There's no tour or commentary during the boat ride. The price: $135 for a couple is a lot of money for most People. You can have a top notch dinner on the island for that amount.. Instead your cramped up on a route-less cruise with extremely average food. Maybe the snorkling is solid which we didn't do but this dinner excursion was a waste of a night . Don't waste an evening on this rip off. The name of the boat should be changed from The Cat to The Hustled because your definitely going to get hustled and ripped off . read more

First, I'd recommend, if possible on STT, a private tour for snorkeling. We had 50+ people on ours, and since it's a GUIDED snorkel, every time I tried to see a turtle I was running into someone or vice versa. It was too crowded and would of rather gone off on my own. You only get 15 minutes of free time. There are also a bunch of other boats around from other companies in the cove. The crew is really nice though and accommodating. Second, it took SO LONG TO GET BACK. It was incredibly hot, which I expect, but because of so many people we couldn't sit in the shade. It took about 90 minutes to get back because if you aren't on a cruise, they take those people back first and it took FOREVER to get to that dock. I am honestly surprised no one fainted. Third, they tell you it's "open bar" on the way back. What open bar means is that you get like unlimited painkillers and they do make sure to refill your drink, but I honestly felt soooo sick from it because it was so sweet. They only provide chips and salsa so bring snacks unless you want to share a bowl of chips with strangers. read more

My good friend got married in St. Thomas and booked the Sunset Cruise for the wedding reception. We all had such a good time. The crew was great, funny and personable. The food was delicious and the cruise memorable. The boat was intimate and clean. The waters were so peaceful and calm.
