The property is open to anyone it's not gated at all. Its a lot of nice cars in the community! and please don't drive a Hyundai Toyota Kia they will steal your tires off your car or just steal your car! Get a air tag!!!! The neighbor downstairs is known for getting people kicked out! She is really close with the property manager! if you have a child around the ages 1 to 5 please don't move there! The walls are very thin! They complain about any type of noise! The property is smoke-free so if they do get a complaint (it could be a bold face a lie) they will run through your crib while you're at work! It's almost like section 8 without having section 8! I have never owned a ring camera, but after living here, I definitely have one! The people who work in the leasing office are very rude! Each and every last one of them! They act as if you owe them something! Some of them don't even live on the property because they can't even afford to live on the property! Even the maintenance men that work there are overworked underpaid! (They are nice) but they treated them like pooh too! Keep your money & move else where because this place is not it!

I am very particular about many things and let me say they check the box in everything when it comes to an ideal community..probably even better than ideal. Let me start with the office staff--Luther, Daryl and Josh are some of the most genuine people. They are very good at addressing any questions or requests I have in prompt manner. The property manager, Luther Crawford, really lives up to all of the amazing reviews-- I'm so impressed with how well he runs this community and goes above and beyond. Always with a smile on his face asking how you or your family are doing...he isn't just asking to sound nice, he truly means it! He really cares about his residents and it shows! He has even brought packages right to my doorstep for me!! The maintenance crew, Daryl and Josh, are very friendly and courteous when coming into my apartment for any maintenance & always care to make sure we are comfortable in our home at all times. They respond to maintenance requests practically immediately and always do an exceptional job! Next, the community..anyone I have encountered here is so friendly and easy to spark up a conversation with. It makes me super thankful to live in a place full of so many warm personalities! Additionally, there are beautiful amenities, which include a wonderful swimming pool (complete with a kiddie pool area for the little ones), a beautiful gym and a clubhouse that holds frequent events for families! Bottom line, I have lived in many apartments, but Luther and his staff go above and beyond to set themselves apart from all the rest. They know just how to care for their residents all while maintaining an extraordinary amount of professionalism & ensuring all move in & administrative processes go as smooth as possible. I'm so happy we chose to move into this community. I hope this review is a reason for you to want to save your time looking anywhere else. You won't regret choosing to live here. Quite frankly, you'll never want to leave!

Unfortunately, everything else has been a terrible experience due to property management. The first red flag came two days before move-in, when we were suddenly told our apartment wouldn't be ready for another two weeks. After almost a year with no issues, things got worse when a roach infestation began due to overcrowded apartments nearby. Instead of handling it promptly, management delayed inspections and extermination over and over, forcing residents to live with pests. On top of that, despite months of documented requests, no lease renewal or transfer options were ever provided as my lease end date approached. The manager avoids calls, emails, and any direct contact, showing no accountability for residents' concerns. This community could be fine if not for management's negligence. The poor communication, failure to address habitability, and disregard for residents make it impossible to recommend.

I will update with more details later, but for now, suffice it to say...our leasing agent (Chantel) and the manager (Ashley) were both very helpful and personable. We already feel more welcome in 2 days than I felt at my old place in over 2 years. The only reason for the 4 star review is for the hot water heater not being the greatest and the steps up to garden apartment landing are VERY steep and slightly sloped so you have to be really careful if you're carrying a bunch of stuff or you have any stability/clumsiness issues. Overall though, I'm thrilled to be here!

Danielle (who is no longer here) made us feel really welcomed here, and Chris was very pleasant and welcoming as well. Now, management has changed and fun living and feeling welcomed here is no longer a feeling for us. The amenities here are supposed to be a part of living and paying for a luxury apartment, but here that isn't the case anymore. We used the Community Room for a friendly and fun gathering for the holiday. We were given permission to use the room. After using the room we were first charged $1,000. After retaining an attorney, he advised us that there is nothing in our lease stating that they can charge us for using the room. After receiving the letter from our attorney Christy and Jasimon changed the $1,000 to $500. Which we haven't paid, because it's not valid or fair. I feel like we were targeted for them to get extra money from us for the activities that they have here. People use that room all the time, even the night before we did and they were not charged. A fact that I know! It seems like since management changed, everything has changed for the worst. Why live in a luxury apartment if you can't utilize the amenities that you're paying for? I have had two packages stolen that has still not showed up. Thankfully, the two companies resent my orders to me. This week has been the fourth or fifth time that we had to put in a work order for the microwave. It keeps cutting out, and tripping the breaker. The last time we smelled smoke. I have asked the last maintenance guy to put in an order for a new microwave. We'll see what happens or how long this will take. I pray that living here gets better and back to fun the way it used to be.

If she's not working everyone is goofing off or just laughing in the one girls office. I used to call and get a message to people but not any more. In short they do not have the same standards as before and it starts in that office. I don't know if it's poor management or what but they need to rethink who they hire and how they work. They are nice. I will say that. But really just goofing off in suits most days. My lease isn't over until December but I am not renewing. Not here.

I initially moved in during a period of personal transition, and The Vine provided stability, comfort, and a strong sense of community. I moved out not because of any dissatisfaction, but simply because it was time for the next chapter and to move into a house. One of the defining strengths of The Vine is the staff. The building is consistently clean and well maintained, thanks in large part to Sammy and his wife in the janitorial department, who are kind, attentive, and always willing to help. Nick and Jaycee in the management office are professional, responsive, and easy to work with. Cynthia deserves special recognition. She truly elevates the experience of living here. Her warm, welcoming presence makes a real difference; she is consistently courteous, friendly, and genuinely makes residents feel at home. In my view, she is the heart of the building, and The Vine would not feel the same without her. The building itself has a polished, almost hotel like feel. Amenities include a pool, a 24 hour gym, dedicated meeting rooms, and a resident activity space with a pool table and bar. There are multiple outdoor kitchens that are great to use when the weather is nice. A trail directly behind the building leads to Maple Lawn, and the location offers very convenient access to Routes 29 and 32, with easy connections to I 95. Community building is clearly a priority here. The Vine regularly hosts resident events such as resident nights, game nights, Halloween and Christmas parties, National Donut Day celebrations, and more. They also bring food trucks on a routine basis, which makes it easy to grab something different on a weeknight without leaving the building. As a small but meaningful detail, the building almost always smells great, which adds to the overall experience. Parking is another highlight. The garage has five levels, and as an electric vehicle owner, I appreciated the availability of eight EV chargers. Over the years, the number of electric vehicles in the building increased significantly, and residents were consistently respectful about communicating and sharing access. That cooperative dynamic reflects the broader sense of community. The apartments offer a range of layouts, from smaller units to three bedroom options. I lived in a three bedroom apartment that was just over 1,400 square feet, which felt like a comfortable and reasonable amount of space for me and my two kids. What stood out most over the four years I lived here was the diversity of residents. The community includes young professionals, retirees, small families, and people and families in the early stages of building their lives, as well as others in different transitions. That mix contributes to a welcoming, inclusive environment. Overall, The Vine is a well run community where people look out for one another and where the staff makes a genuine effort to create a warm, supportive place to live. It served an important role in my life, and I look back on my time there very positively.

Unfortunately, this theft has directly impacted our community with Hyundai's and Kia's having been vandalized or stolen from The Emerson. We are working closely with The Laurel Police Department and they are fully aware of the theft and have advised our team that this theft has been happening throughout the DMV. We are extremely concerned about this situation and will continue actively working with the Laurel Police, detectives and officers to aid in any way possible to prevent this from happening in the future. We encourage you to advise authorities if you have any information regarding these incidents. In addition, we have been advised that there is a recent Tiktok challenge providing step by step instructions on how to steal these vehicle models. Per Laurel Police, it is teenagers or young adults that appear to be breaking into the vehicles. The Laurel Police Department is also advising that you can purchase a pedal or wheel lock which can deter thieves from steeling the vehicle. Laurel Police has actively increased their security throughout the community and the Laurel area. Our team is doing the same and has increased the hours of private security at the community. In addition, effective immediately, we will be shutting down all of our gates throughout the day for entry. I have been holding off on writing this review until after I moved out because I wanted to be as…read morefair and objective as possible. After living at Emerson at Cherry Lane for almost three years, I can honestly say this was one of the worst apartment experiences I've ever had. For the amount they charge in rent, the condition of this property is completely unacceptable. Throughout my time here, I dealt with: * Mice and roaches. * Weevils in my kitchen cabinets, which required an exterminator. Ironically, residents pay a pest control fee, but extermination services were only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. * Trash, leftover food, and old furniture constantly sitting in the hallways. * Dog urine and feces in the hallways and walkways that would often sit for days without being cleaned. * A water leak in my apartment that caused damage to the molding and paint. Although the leak was addressed, the cosmetic damage was never repaired. * Teenagers frequently hanging out inside the stairwells smoking, causing the smell to travel throughout the building. Since I lived next to the stairwell, I often had to ask them myself to stop because management was nowhere to be found. * Broken exterior doors that compromised building security. In nearly three years of living here, the side entrance was rarely secured properly. * Homeless individuals sleeping in the hallways and stairwells. One morning around 5:00 a.m., I walked in and found someone sleeping directly in front of the elevator. * Broken glass left in common areas over weekends because the cleaning crew only works during the week, meaning messes often sat until Monday. * An elevator that was out of service multiple times, with no freight elevator available for moving furniture or large items. * Numerous nights where police responded to domestic disputes, waking residents in the middle of the night. * Guest parking fees that are outrageous, while numerous vehicles appeared to remain parked on the property for extended periods without moving. * My own vehicle was towed while I was waiting for my permanent license plates and using a visitor's pass. It cost me $175 to retrieve it, and my boyfriend waited over two hours at the tow lot because no one was available at the front desk. * Package theft was a recurring issue. The mailroom was constantly overcrowded because lockers weren't cleared promptly, and there were even local news reports about people repeatedly stealing packages from the property. * Office management was rarely friendly or welcoming, and interactions often felt like an inconvenience. Also don't forget the trash bags in the hallway left out after pickup. Makes the hallway smell like sh*t, and funk. Perhaps the most frustrating part was that I was an ideal tenant. I paid my rent on time every single month, never had complaints against me, and took care of my apartment. Yet every lease renewal came with another rent increase--even when similar units were advertised online for less than what I was being offered. This property has so much potential, but the lack of maintenance, poor security, cleanliness issues, and overall management make it impossible for me to recommend it. I genuinely could not wait for my lease to end. Moving out was a huge relief. If you're considering Emerson at Cherry Lane, I strongly encourage you to tour carefully, ask current residents about their experiences, and read reviews before signing a lease. In my experience, the rent simply does not reflect the quality of living here. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere. I literally wish I could give this place ZERO stars. ****PHOTOS ATTACHED ON GOOGLE REVIEWS****
