This is a gift shop. A straightforward, "You are tourists" gift shop. Are the goods made by the…read moretribe selling them? No. Is the tribe selling them honest about that? Yes. Most of the goods stocked in Native Faces were made in Alaska or western Canada by Native American or First Nation craftspeople so the money is going to the right places. Check labels if you want something from a specific place. The store has lots of interesting things, but I wasn't feeling super charitable because the tour leading up to the store made me grumpy. The chocolate I bought made me feel better. It was good chocolate, too. I'm fairly certain you have to take a tour to shop here; it doesn't seem like the residents of Saxman keep the store open just because. Still, it's less than half a block from the bus stop if you catch a ride from Ketchican. Accessibility notes: Ramp access for mobility devices. Store is crowded with racks for mobility devices. Some items may be out of reach for seated shoppers. No braille signage.

One of the salespeople here knew that they had only one left of the item, on their clearance rack and that all their other locations (they have a few throughout town) were all sold out. They located the item for me and I saved 25%. Total cost of my souvenir, $3.18, including tax. OK, so I'm not a big spender but I'm a very happy customer. And that special item? An Alaskan yo-yo. Look it up. It requires some amount of skill to play with. I'm still working on it.

This is a small store that sells the same regular stuff I've seen at other places in Ketchikan with some added beachy items. There wasn't anything I couldn't live without, like chocolate candy called bear poop or a glass shell Christmas ornament. It's a cute shop that's clean, with some whimsy. If I lived here, I'd visit on occasion to see what was new.

Yes this store is tailored to tourists. We came here on a cruise ship and they are located about 3 mins walk from the cruise ship or basically on the port.
