The only reason this place deserves 2 stars is because they served chicken nuggets for our 6 year old daughter at our friends wedding. The venue is beautiful but there are so many reviews about how bad the service is, and tons of responses saying they are reading the reviews and trying to get better, and yet the service remains terrible. The wait to get something to drink is ridiculous, and good luck having them get your drink order right. Also, don't bother buying tickets to any event because the smart people just show up and partake without paying. No one is monitoring that, apparently. We felt like we overpayed for everything without getting much value. There are much more efficient wineries you can go to without dealing with the bad service and management attitudes when you do bring something to their attention that needs improvement. read more

This vineyard is absolutely stunning! Love the Mediterranean style! Aside from the main house, there are several houses in the back that people can rent out. They have a delicious selection of red wines, white wines, only 1 dessert white wine, & sangria. They also have a café that serves pizzas, cheese boards, & more. We made a reservation for dinner for our 10 yr anniversary, we arrived 20 min early and had our two children with us, they did not have a table that would allow for a highchair for us but that was ok we should have mentioned that in the reservation I guess so we sat at a booth and made it work. The staff were all friendly and very pleasant. We ordered the Truffle whipped ricotta and fried green tomatoes for starters and the fried green tomatoes were very good, however the ricotta bread had so much garlic and truffle or something on it that was so strong it made my eyes water and was just not edible. My daughter (6yr old) ordered a burger and fries, my husband ordered the burger and fries, I ordered the rack of lamb. The rack of lamb was good it was a little tough but it tasted very good and well cooked We also had dessert coconut cream pie, my husband and daughter had the chocolate cake and chocolate mousse. It all seemed box made or factory made not made on site for certain the pie was thick overly cornstarch. I didn't try the chocolate so I can't say what it was like. When we arrived home our daughter was throwing up and not feeling well at all, before midnight my husband was throwing up so hard he pulled a muscle in his throat or something it was awful. They both had the burger and chocolate desserts so I am assuming one or the other was bad. They also had the fries so could have been that not certain what it was but the food was not what it could or should have been. read more

Was skeptical after reading some of the bad reviews but still decided to go and see for ourselves. We're from out of town and I found this place after doing some research and being a little surprise that such place existed in Texas. Fell in love with the photos on the website. Of course the place did not look the same since we came in December but honestly, we don't think we would have had the same experience in the summer/peak season. The entire property is gorgeous. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon so it was pretty quiet but the weather was perfect. The staff was friendly and personable yet professional. The food was great. We had the Brie, the burger and the ribeye (some kind of steak). Everything was delicious. We spent the night in room 16 and it had everything we needed. We woke the next day and walked to the gym and spa. Didn't use either but enjoyed the walk. I would highly recommend this property for a weekend getaway or just to check it out for the experience. I'm so glad I found this place while visiting the San Antonio area. read more

Beautiful property and friendly staff but do not go until the renovations are completed. You will be disappointed in the limited menu and seating. Also, if you are a first timer, NEVER order wine by the glass. We did and at $14/glass for their cab, the pour looked light. We ended up buying a bottle, taking it back to the room and pouring each glass exactly to the fill line they use. We got just barely shy of 6 glasses out of one bottle!! It is ridiculous that they are charging $14/glass and pouring under 5 ounces. If you end up drinking a full bottle by the glass, you are paying about $80/bottle. As nice as the property and staff are, we will not be back because of how they are cheating guests without their knowledge. If you want to make it right, either change the glasses or put the exact pour on the menu. read more

We tasted a flight of white wines, which were all delicious. They substituted one wine and they were not in the same order as the info sheet. So they crossed out the info sheet and rewrote the wines, which is weird because they could just bring the wines out in the order on the sheet. A little confusing. We then moved to the restaurant for lunch, which was delicious! We shared a large summer salad, margarita pizza, and strawberry peach cake. I would order all of them again. read more

I would encourage any of the vineyards in Central Texas to go there and see how it's done. The Vineyard at Florence was such a great experience! It was a beautiful early October day when my group of sorority sisters weaved our way to the Vineyard. We sampled wines at the counter at the entrance and enjoyed each and every one! The prices are very reasonable. I think a 75L bottle was 23.00. I enjoyed both the whites, the chard and the pinot grigio. The strong port was delicious and I got two bottles for Christmas gifts. The staff are friendly and it's so peaceful and relaxing to hang out here! We enjoyed a charcuterie board with the most delicious fig jam I've ever tasted and shared some small plates on the beautiful back patio area overlooking the vineyard itself. They also offer lodging and I believe corporate/social event hosting. They sell bathrobes and bath accessories, too. Do try the Vineyard at Florence! I can't wait to return to Georgetown to experience it again! I actually wish I had bought a case of that pinot grigio to bring home with me. Oh well, it gives me a solid excuse to return! read more

My wife and I met family at the Florence Winery. We've been to this establishment on a few occasions and enjoyed the experience each time. If you have a private venue or would like a different experience then this winery may just be the place for you. Upon our arrival, James and his crew greeted us upon entry into the establishment. Kim offered her services to our nieces and Teasia serviced us. The girls sampled one of their wine tasting venues. My wife and I sampled the reds. While sampling the wine we noticed there was a Shrimp Boil occurring this evening! Well, my wife loves seafood so we thought, why not? We purchased two dinners. However, much to our dismay, when we received our plates, we had an issue with the portions of shrimp on each of our plates. Nevertheless, the party must continue and so I further indulged in the variety of wines. As James took my order, he inquired about the shrimp boil. I informed him that the food was good but we were expecting a few more shrimp. James spoke with Chef Jason and he quickly remedied the situation. Hats off to James for taking care of us! James and his team are great! We also had the luxury of meeting Stacey, I believe she is the Sales manager but I am unsure at this time because of the wines. Lol! Anyway, we had a wonderful conversation about the lotions, the villas, and a variety events hosted here. James spoke with us about the quarterly membership options. We told James and Stacey that an exclusive cigar bar would be phenomenal. In the end we ended up eating, drinking, and being merry with a small load of hand and body lotions. Go figure! read more

My visit to The Vineyard was rather quite serendipitous . Decided to drive down one of the roads in Jarrell and saw a winery on the left with my wife. We were looking to do something fun for the evening anyways so decided to check it out. We pull in and speak with the coolest representative of the place Tejada. We had no idea what this place was and she did an amazing job showing us what this place is all about. So after we check out the memberships and said we were interested she invited us to a wine trivia event they were having in the back, and it was a really fun experience. We went in June to celebrate an anniversary. Stayed in one of their 12 or 16 rooms. Here's the review: Wine: very good. Expensive though... but buying on the special night of the week (BOGO or 50% off) makes it much more reasonable. The tasting price is good too! The tasting servers were great as well! Rooms: great! Cozy. Up-to-date. Awesome walk in shower. Nice patios overlooking the vineyard. Pool and work out room are a hike (long walk, medium run, or short drive), but very nice. Restaurant: wow! Surprisingly good. If you rent a room, you get a complimentary, excellent breakfast. Dinner (not free) also very, very good and reasonably priced considering where you are at. Grounds: NICE! Relaxing. Quiet. Winery: the lady who just started working there when we stayed was a delight. She showed us around and was very personable and informative. Explained the vision of the winery going forward and talked about various aspects of the place. Make the trip... it's totally worth it. read more

I have long loved this place, the wine is nice, the outdoor area is nice, and in the past, they had a totally lust-worthy cheese and meat tray that made us happy-happy EVERY visit. The last couple of visits, the cheese tray has become smaller. Less interesting g, and 100% skimpy. Today's wine tray, now on a much smaller board, was a sincere rip off at $20. Wine club free glass of wine each visit perk has now dwindled to a glass of wine (simplified selection) at $5/glass. They are clearly having financial problems or simply greedy, and do not value their guest experience. No more will I recommend. Asked hubby to cancel the wine club: I gave sour grapes. There are WAY too many wineries to choose from. read more

The Vineyard at Florence is the perfect location to escape without leaving the state of Texas. It's like you've literally traveled to a Vineyard in Florence...Italy that is! This was me and my wife's second stop on our Anniversary getaway. It was the perfect location for us on our way back to Dallas from Austin. A little off of the beaten path, but not by much. This is a gem hidden right along the I 35 corridor that should definitely be kept in mind for a quick trip. We arrived, got our key and headed back to our Villa. We stayed in the Botticelli suite. This villa stands alone. There are other villas that have more than one suite per building but not this one. I had arranged for a bottle of their sparkling wine to help with our celebration. It was fantastic! The suite had a huge bedroom that had a scenic view of the vineyard, there was an outdoor shower (they had one indoors as well), a nice patio with a fireplace (if it were colder, we would have definitely used this), and it has a lot of glass doors so you can get a outdoor view from most places inside. If you plan on coming down for a couple of days, they also have a nice fridge/microwave as well if you want to make some bites to go along with your wine. You can go to the main building at the entrance for meals. We also got one of their wine flights. They have a great sample of the different varieties that they create on site. Great place for a weekend getaway! We're definitely going back sometimes soon! read more

Went out with two other couples to celebrate a birthday event. The grounds and facilities are beautiful and very impressive. Before dinner we wanted to have a glass of wine in the atrium, but they weren't willing to sell them, as management "didn't want big crowds gathering at the bar". After moving into the dining room we asked for some wine flights, but were told they couldn't serve them in the dining room, so they missed out on sales of four flights and 6 glasses of wine at this point. The meal service was exceptional from beginning to end - Alondra was extremely engaging, friendly, and understands the sweet spot for checking back on tables without interrupting a meal. As for the food, I was disappointed. Given the price point I expected much more. We had two fish dishes - blackened snapper and salmon with mango pico chutney. They were prepared sufficiently, but the portion sizes were surprisingly small. The sides were crab and shrimp Mac and Cheese and Elotes corn. The Mac was horrible - lacked flavor, couldn't find the crab, was served at room temperature, and not worth a $20 price tag. They had a limited selection of wines available by the glass to pair with meals, but I was surprised at how few options there were, given that it is a winery. On October 7 at 4:30 pm, we were invited to the winery for our dearest friends when visiting Austin! They used to visit that place very often! What a surprise when our friend was denied to have a beer( he brought it before with the staff permission). Manager and waiter approached us in louder voice. Our friend decided to leave and when passed along the waiter, he said our friend spitted on him! I doubted! He suffers from aphasia and is unable to speak! The waiter acted in the most unprofessional manner and told us to leave the place! He was rude, and humiliated us in front of other visitors! It was my worst life experience ever! Please, be careful when you choose to have a beautiful day at this winery! It is a very unpleasant place! read more

They have very friendly service from the wine hostess/ host, the hotel room was beautiful and very clean , beautiful view of nature on your patio, so peaceful. This is a gorgeous place with beautiful scenery and decor. It was so comfortable there and they had great wine. There is also a restaurant but we didn't eat there. It felt like we were at a resort in Mexico while visiting Vineyard at Florence. We sat and enjoyed our wine and stayed for about 3 hours. The Hostess was very confused and keep trying to seat my party outside on a picnic table in the hot sun. It was not crowded therefore I was confused on why they would not work with me.
