Their default shipping is media mail, so that can be slow, but just ask for faster shipping and they'll handle it. They're a good follow on FB or other social media as they announce live music, listening shows and specials there on a regular basis. I recently picked up a RSD Pink Floyd 1975 live in LA 4 disc set. He gave us info on the shop on the various treasures he would have available. There was a ton of neat things there. The first floor had a ton of records, beer memorabilia, NJ centric antiques, some toys, and animation cels. The 2nd floor was dedicated to anything to do with film or print. And holy crap do they have a lot of stuff. I quickly realized that each section or booth had a name and saw that it belonged to different sellers. And they all had their own deals but all the really worth it cool stuff was fairly priced so it made me not get it. I'm sure everyone has got their own budget and what they're willing to spend on used items. In the end I only walked away with a necklace. So i would probably recommend tot hose looking for new toys or testing your luck because they do have a lot of options.

Luckily for me, I live in the neighborhood west of here. I've always ignored this spot for years due to the insanely outdated and weathered posters (really horrible ones, too). However, I manned up and walked in about a year and a half ago and I must say: this place is great. It turns out that Zig Zag is quite historic. Back in the early 80s, heavy metal had its glory days here in Brooklyn. L'Amour's was the place to be and Zig Zag was the place to get records... and meet your favorite bands. It's hard to believe that bands like Metallica, Motorhead, and Venom all stepped through that door at one point. Stan, the guy who works there, has basically seen it all and has not given up his 80s days just yet. As for the actual selection of goods: it's just like any other used record store. You win some, and you lose some. Because this place has diminished into obscurity over the last 20 years, all of the super rare stuff is left untouched and hidden underneath everything else. The prices are a bit high ($12 average for a used record?) though the price is worth it for some records. How Stan manages to keep this place in business after all these years blows my mind. I know he does a lot of EBay-ing, but damn! He must kick ass at it. All in all, this place is filled with unexplored treasures and is definitely worth your time especially if you are a collector of classic rock, classic heavy metal, and everything else related to that from the 60s-80s. Oh, there are CDs too but who cares about that plastic crap?

Many times it would be cheaper at Zig Zag than some of the stores in the Village. Well, good music is officially dead. In the age of auto-tuned crap, the bell tolls for another fallen indie store. Found them through a FB post. I've past the store hundred of times and never knew they sold…read morerecords, always thought it was music instruments and equipment only. Anyway... They posted an ad for a sale on CDs. I responded back asking if they had any vinyl for sale and when they said yes, I decided to pay them a visit. Walking in you're greeted with exactly what I thought the store was. A musical equipment store. I saw a rack of records and as I walked to it, a rep came over to ask if I needed help. When I said I was interested in the records he said I was welcome to look at that rack but I probably wanted to look upstairs. He led the way upstairs and through a maze into a huge room with wall to wall racks of records!! Turns out I wasn't crazy, the record "store" is a new venture. They are just launching. But back to my visit. Wall to wall racks of records! I started at the far corner and worked my way through all the racks. Every genre was there! Even country which you never see. The bins were well marked and actually had what was listed. Everything was alphabetical! I worked my way around grabbing an album here and there. After a little over an hour of looking I headed to the register. While most of the records were priced, there were a few that weren't and the clerk quickly looked them up and gave me more than fair pricing on them. In just over an hour I added a couple of dozen records to the collection for a heck of a great price. Overall, very helpful and friendly staff. Very good selection of music (they have CDs, Dvds, and cassettes as well but I was there for vinyl so I didn't really look at those). Great prices. I found out after paying I came through the wrong door and their entrance door is actually in the back of the building. (I know for next time) I will definitely be back!
