We stumbled across the tasting room on a Sunday afternoon after finishing our bike ride on the High Bridge Trail. It seems that most of Farmville is closed on Sundays so we were delighted to find them open! My husband and I both ordered a tasting flight. You could choose from "sweet" or "dry" so we got one of each with the addition of a charcuterie board. We headed to sit outside on the covered porch and our flights were brought out about 15 minutes later. We began enjoying our wine tasting and taking in the view of the woods and creek. It is a lovely setting and very peaceful. After about 30 minutes we moved inside to cool down a bit as we were still waiting on our charcuterie board. After close to 45 minutes we inquired and the new staff member said it was still coming. It finally arrived a few minutes later and was delicious; we just wish that it hadn't take so long. Fortunately we had time on our hands and we were relaxed enough to just enjoy our afternoon. The wine was great and it was nice to taste wines from several Virginia Vineyards. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and glad that we stopped in. There were only 2 women working so I think they were just a bit understaffed for the afternoon. I wouldn't let that keep us from returning and it shouldn't keep you from stopping in. Pros: The employees were friendly and hard working plus the environment was relaxing and clean. The wine was tasty! Charcuterie board was plentiful! My only con: The long wait for the charcuterie board.

5 Stars+!!! Small town hospitality at its finest! Special shout-out to: Susan, Shannon, Hannah and Jessie! Our family can not stop raving at how wonderful of an experience we had this past weekend at The Virginia Tasting Cellar. I had originally emailed about hours with it being the day after Christmas. I had looked all around FarmVille for something our large family could do while we waited for our Air BNB to be ready. Megan, the manager, was eager to assist and help, letting me know that they would be open and that they would be able to accommodate our family of 6 plus a toddler. I then proceeded to see if we could bring some games in to kill time and to my pleasant surprise she said "of course" and they had games of their own in the establishment. When we got there we were greeted with smiling faces from all the girls! They were so genuinely excited to see us and seat us! I thought their enthusiasm was so charming, like we belonged right there in that town with our old friends eager to see us! My father-in-law, who has gluten sensitivity, was in touch with Susan over the phone earlier in the week and she reassured him that due to her sons nut allergy they would definitely be able to accommodate him so we could all eat lunch together. Eating a meal all together is near impossible, but the staff made a wonderful selection for him and he never got ill which was wonderful considering we were all about to spend our weekend together away! They also thoroughly enjoyed joking with "Ricky Martin" about getting a song or two out of him! Lol While The Cellar wasn't doing tastings due to covid we were offered so many samples before we actually purchased our drinks. This is greatly appreciated when we all like different things! They had a wonderful selection with a wide range of wines and ciders. We left with a bottle of Horton- nice and sweet if you like that type- but they also had drier selections that my father in law enjoyed. The cider they make in house was also good. The food was just as awesome, as we all had something different and everyone left overly full because we didn't want any to go to waste. We tried the caramel cheesecake and it was also yummy! The prices were very reasonable and portions were good. For the 5 of us to eat and drink it coast a little over a hundred which I thought was a steal! At the end of our meal we asked Susan to take a photo for us on their beautiful deck! It had an amazing view! The stream behind this place is magical and our toddler loved the pallet swing! Susan went above and beyond taking memorable photos for us and got some great lasting shots! Everything from the friendly service, to the drinks, photos and space made our trip more than imaginable. We seriously think stopping at The Cellar will become a new family tradition! I want to also mention that the space was extremely clean, the bathrooms were kept up and nice and everyone was wearing masks due to covid! This place is truly a gem and there is no doubt we will be in again when we get this way! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for making our trip a little more magical!

Wine? In Farmville?? Absolutely. Tucked behind Charley's you'll find this pretty gem. $10 to taste 10 varieties of your choice (with a complimentary glass). I love how knowledgeable our hostess was. From dry to sweet. Cider to red and white ~ it's in the cellar.

This is a unique wine tasting venue . You won't find one grape vine anywhere . They host 8 different wineries and some breweries. The atmosphere is nothing to WINE about . It's down below Charlie's here in Farmville . This gives it that wine cellar feel . We actually did not do a wine tasting but tasted the ciders . They offer some small plate menu options. Their large patio area is warm and inviting . 2 fireplaces burning to keep you toasty on colder days and fans to cool you when it gets warm. You can gather some friends order your favorite wine and sit back and relax . Also a stream that runs near the patio . Very charming relaxing view .

Pretty cool little place! We went on a Sunday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised to find they were hosting a "sip and shop" event where local vendors were set up on their patio. The patio is GORGEOUS - a view unlike anything else in FarmVille. They offer a wine flight that they say is equivalent to two glasses of wine, but i think it's closer to three. Every wine I tried was delicious and unique. Minus one star for service... the staff was so focused on the event that no one even came to take our order. Had to ask multiple people before we were helped. And when we went to pay before we left, the girl asked what we were waiting for. We could've easily left without paying.... Better organization is clearly needed during these events. But we still enjoyed it and would absolutely visit again, just knowing you have to be a bit forward to be helped.

I'm just passing through the area for a hike and decided to stop here afterwards and was so happy I did. Immediately I was created and attended to, they offered me several free samples of different wines until I settled on a glass, and then sat me outside on their cute HEATED patio with a view!

By far one of the best local wine tasting spots in VA. All local Vineyards only. Which gives it the most unique taste of Virginia. The display and atmosphere of this establishment was very inviting clean. Great service and very friendly hosts. I will definitely come back again.

They have 8 different wineries that you can try with like 3-6 wines from the winery. A tasting was $12 a person and you can try 10 different wines with it. I wish the pours were bigger but it might be due to ABC laws or something. We were slow getting set up and were confused what to do for a bit. Though when we checked out farmville after this it was even slower so it must have been a Sunday thing. I know smaller towns can be less busy on Sundays. If you tell them what you like you can sample just that. Like we like sweet wine so we mostly sampled that. They also have drys and reds so if you like that then you can sample those from each wineries. Our bartender person was very friendly. They had a nice chocolate based beer too. Their patio with the river was great. They have food from next door available. I think this was the coolest part in visiting farmville.

This is a very lovely location with a wonderful variety of local wines. They offer a tasting experience that includes a nice glass as a souvenir. Be sure to go to the back deck. There is a lovely and relaxing deck with an amazing view. Be sure to try the Thistle Gate Sangria.

Most relaxing glass of wine a girl could ask for!!

This place is a hidden treasure. The best wine tasting I've ever experienced and the best part of my trip to Farmville. Susan was a wonderful host-very knowledgeable, laid back, and funny. From the moment we walked in she was very welcoming and made sure we had a good time. She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The cellar has wines, cider, and beer from all over VA that customers are able to try. The inside of this place is very nice but the outside patio would keep me coming back every night if I lived closer. Live music, multiple fire pits, a giant porch swing, and a gorgeous view of the Appomattox River (not to mention a delicious steaming mug of mulled wine) will create a state of relaxation you will not want to leave. Highly recommended!

The swing porch sold me !

We were hoping to find a vineyard and found Spring Run on one of our searches. We were unable to reach anyone by telephone at first but it was already kind of late in the day so we just drove over there and unfortunately for us, we happened to go when it was closed. We called while we were in the parking lot and the super friendly owner answered and apologized that she was closed that day but talked us into visiting them the next day. We almost didn't make it the next day but we managed it and I'm so happy that we did! The owners are super friendly and explained the history of the vineyard and it was so beautiful and peaceful to just sit there and enjoy some wine and cheese and talk to the owners. We did wine flights and my favorite was their blackberry wine which we both ended up taking bottles of home with us. I thought the blackberry wine would be too sweet as I'm not a fan of sweet wine but it was more fruity than sweet and had the perfect taste. We also tried the Goot Essa Cheese and Rip Rap crackers and I can honestly say that it was some of the best cheese I had ever tasted! It's a 3 year sharp cheddar and it went perfectly with our wine flights! We also ended up taking a couple souvenir shirts with us as a memory to our awesome experience. I have family in Virginia and will definitely be making time to visit this vineyard again when I make it back!

The 2024 Petit Manseng was good, but a bit tart, and the Artist White blend was too dry for my liking. This is a great winery that you should visit when in the area, that's both kid and dog friendly.

After the tasting (accompanied with crackers, chicken salad, and grapes), the four of us split a bottle of Chambourcin Rosé. Lovely wine, dry with a hint of sweetness. What we purchased for consumption back at the Old North State was a bottle of this Rosé, and my favorite - Indulgence. Indulgence is a blend of Bordeaux varietals which is tweaked each year to reflect the perfect balance between these Bordeaux varietals.
