I'm surprised the rating for the Omni isn't higher! I've been to this location a few times over the years, from a staycation to my most recent visit to check out their pop-up tiki bar and this place never disappoints. The views throughout the property are incredible. You really feel far removed from Austin, even though downtown is only about a 15-20 minute drive away. It's also a golfer's paradise, with state-of-the-art courses and a history of hosting legends like Willie Nelson. I could go on and on about the resort itself but let's talk about the dining options! Tiki Social is their summer pop-up bar at Nápoles, serving up some excellent tiki drinks with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area overlooks the pool so it can be a little loud if you're hoping for a more relaxed island vibe. We opted for the Zombie and Mai Tai, both classic tiki cocktails. We didn't dine here, but they had plenty of food options from smaller plates like coconut shrimp and wings to larger dishes like the mahi mahi sandwich and Tiki Burger. Instead, we headed to the main restaurant on-site Blind Salamander, to take advantage of their happy hour. They had a couple of red and white wines discounted along with $2 East Coast oysters, which we paired with a side of fries. If you're looking for a full meal, the menu has a robust selection with plenty of options to please just about everyone. One of the best things about this resort is the free parking, which makes it much more accessible and allows you to enjoy a high-end resort experience without having to pay extra fees, especially if you're not staying overnight. I could easily keep going but I'll just say this: Omni Barton Creek is absolutely worth experiencing at least once, even if you live in the Austin area! read more

We celebrated a friend's milestone birthday at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa. There was no nearby parking due to three functions being held at the same time. We were taken via golf cart to the venue. Needless to say, my hair was windblown when we arrived. We immediately greeted by a woman with a champagne skirt, which was unique and different. The space was very tight for the number of guests present. Folks passing by my table kept knocking purse off my chair until I put on our table. There was a small bar and mingling area. Gifts sat on the floor as there was no space anywhere else to put them. There were two musical artists - a DJ and a jazz band. The DJ was not skilled in the art of DJing. He did not have seamless connections between songs with abrupt stops. The jazz band, conversely, was amazing. My hubby who is not a big dancer, danced the entire night. We were served plated meals (filet mignon and salmon), which were aesthetically pleasing and deliciously prepared. Overall, the food was very good. If the birthday party was held in a larger space, the experience would likely have been better. read more

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. All of the staff was very kind throughout check-in poolside, and restaurants. We attended a wedding on site and it was a beautiful event. The cocktails were pricey at the pool so just be mindful of that. Poolside I had a chicken Caesar salad and french fries everything tasted good and I would order it again. There was also a coffee bar in the lobby that had snacks and quick breakfast bites. There was a fantastic all you can eat buffet at one of the on-site restaurants. It was about $40 per person before tax and tip. While we traveled as a couple, there were a lot of families there and it looked like there were family, friendly events happening. read more

My company has hosted its annual company kickoff event at the Omni Barton Creek Resort since 2023, and I don't see that changing! We've become accustomed to the hospitality the event staff has to offer and if you don't know, the Omni Barton Creek Resort is the only hotel in Austin that can accommodate a large headcount. If you're wondering, they have 493 rooms! Every early February, you'll find our team sprawled out across the resort. If you're looking for a nightcap, don't bother coming to Jim Bob's-- we'll be there every night until closing time! The venue is massive and I'm always amazed to find new areas I haven't seen before. If you're at the Omni Barton Creek for a conference, I highly suggest requesting a room on the conference center side-- you'll save more time. If you have an opportunity to be assigned to a room with a view, the views are stunning. I'm not into golf, but I do appreciate nature and the Omni Barton Creek Resort showcases this beautifully. The hotel itself is clean and beautifully designed. It blends modern, country, and classy elements with its parquet floors and crisp white wall fixtures. Unfortunately, if you're here for more than three days, the food gets repetitive... especially the banquet / buffet menu. For those with dietary restrictions, I find it disappointing there aren't any à la carte options for guests. Salads are meals, but when you're suggesting salads for every meal, it's a bit thoughtless. Also, the pricing on boxed sandwiches is insane ($25/box). read more

The pool is great, but the wait staff are slow and seem annoyed whenever you try to place an order. The food at the pool also isn't as good as it used to be. The frozen drinks were especially disappointing. I had the worst daiquiri I've ever tasted and ended up sending it back. We stayed here for a little under one week and this is one of the nicest hotels we've stayed at. Even better than many 5 stars. The checkin was seamless and staff was incredibly nice, answering questions about the gym, hotel etc. it was a little busy for us due to a golf tournament going on which is the only caveat. They seem to host many events so it can get busy. The grounds are beautiful, free parking garage and tons of food options in the hotel. You're about 20 minutes from downtown Austin but this is a quiet oasis away from it. The rooms itself are beautiful, comfortable bed, spacious and very quiet. There was a dog staying next to us which we could hear barking but they insulated the walls well enough to once the owners were in the room we couldn't hear one thing! Shout out to everyone at Velvet Joes, great coffee downstairs. We hope to come back and take advantage of the facility more. read more

I'm not much of a golfer so the fact that the place is partially (maybe mostly?) a golf resort was sort of lost on me, but I will admit the views of the rolling greens from sweet 6th floor room were damn fine. Other than that, it's a fairly well-appointed resort and conference center set upon a good chunk of acreage in a private setting. It's pretty big -- several main buildings, a couple of outbuildings and event spaces, meeting rooms, an indoor and outdoor pool, a separate fully equipped gym, a spa and ....golf carts everywhere. There are a couple of restaurants too, and of the two we tried Crenshaw's was my pick, with its casual vibe, chatty bartenders and decent but not huge menu, along with a good tap list and wine selection. A relaxed setting with a couple of tables outside overlooking the golf course is my idea of a good evening spot. The other spot, Bobs Steak and Chop House, was a bit more swank, with a lounge atmosphere of dark wood and leather, but honestly? A bit claustrophobic -- I didn't see one window in the joint. That said, the service is all pro, with unbelievably polished and attentive staff for each course, and the food, simply outstanding --- in presentation and flavor, down to every plate. Calamari appetizers, grilled salmon, German chocolate cake = all were to die for. Fine dining in a clubby ambience. I was on a business trip so I didn't pay for that meal but if you have expense account, go for it. It's a lovely spot, but don't get the idea you're all that close to Austin proper - you're not. read more

Barton Creek is well situated and enjoyable. This easily accessible property, just minutes from many points of town, maintains a refined Hill Country charm while not trying too hard. It is tasteful and enjoyable. The location's accommodations with an in-suite formal dining room are pleasant. The property is well-placed and exudes a refined Hill Country character and is easily reachable from town. We did have a rocky start, however. There was a major booking error upon arrival - a one star situation. Thankfully, they did their very best to resolve the matter, immediately correct the issue, and send us on our anticipated way without major consequential delay. Turnaround included, it could be graded four stars, but staff competencies to correctly and completely maneuver from an outsized hiccup deserve stars representing a full recovery. All told everything fell in to place without need for noteworthy insistence on my part. Not everyone can resolve problems quickly and sufficiently. Unfortunately, that is rare. Barton Creek Resort and Spa has my endorsement. read more

This review is based on Mokara spa experience. The massage itself was very good. To give some context...annual girls spa day. 3 mammas who were neighbors and raised kids together. We are in the next phase of life and 2/3 have moved away from austin. It is a cherished time to get this 1 day/yr together. First hiccup - booked resort pass 3+wks in advance. Selected 3 massages for 2PM. Called the spa about 1wk later to give names and choose services. Left a msg on Friday but didn't receive a call back until Monday. 2nd, when speaking with the spa rep, no record in their system of my booking. At this point, there is only 1, 2pm appt available and they want to stagger our treatments 2PM, 2:30, and 3:30. No. That defeats the purpose of our visit. I told him I was going to cancel w resort pass. He put me on hold then came back to offer 3 appts at 4PM. Great. We'll make that work. 3rd, arrived 12:30 to utilize the amenities and pool. Went to the pool to lounge and grab lunch and drinks. 1 server for 15-20ppl. Sweet boy but zero urgency and no attention to detail. Never came to us (or anyone else) to offer service. You'd have to yell across the pool to get his attention before he'd leave. After placing an order, at least 4 other ppl would try to get an order in as well before he'd disappear for 20+min. He must have had to walk 1/4 mile each way to the kitchen/bar. Took approx 30 min to get anything after placing order. When he'd deliver, it was never the complete order. We'd finish our drinks before he ever returned to bring what he forgot. My friend never got the salad she ordered. After waiting 1hr20min she canceled it because there'd be no way for her to eat it before our treatments. Another group of ladies left (I assume to go to the restaurant) then came back more than an hour later and we were still waiting on items. 4th, when checking out, my friend who never got her salad, had items on her bill that she did not order. Where my other friend and myself didn't have anything that we ordered on our tab!! What should've been a relaxing afternoon became irritating and a little stressful. Omni has completely missed the mark and did not provide the service that one expects with the brand. Not to mention, they could make thousands of dollars/day more if they had at least two pool attendants who hustled. Bottom line, nice facility and great treatments. This was a gorgeous resort and hotel but caught me off guard how tucked into the hills it was. First time in Austin and if I had to drive the pathway each time I wouldn't love it, but we did have the most beautiful views from the hotel. They had a great list of activities for the little ones and my kids loved the arcade room. Unfortunately we didn't check out the outdoor pools due to the time of year but didn't realize they did have an indoor pool as well. We loved the lobby bar and overall ambiance. We didn't eat meals onsite but I bet they would have been great and the size of the resort was impressive especially since it feels smaller upon arrival. Overall it was a great stay and I appreciated how well kept the hotel was--definitely lived up to our expectations and also appreciated that the room felt oversized and spacious. read more

A stunning Resort & Spa. The moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, and accommodating. The check-in process was smooth and efficient. I was a little upset that our room wasn't ready until about 4:15pm, after the "check-in" time. We booked the Champions suite and the room was spacious and very clean. I appreciated all the complimentary water. The room comes with a huge bathroom, and small shampoo, conditioner, body wash & hand lotion. Smelled great. The hotel's on-site dining was actually very good. They offer a variety of restaurants and our favorite was Bob's Steakhouse. It was absolutely delicious! Some of the best steak! I was surprised at the array of breakfast options at Texas Spice too. They have 3 pools, 2 kid/family friendly and one adult pool. Since we booked a massage, we were able to enjoy the spa pool too. I do wish they had a cold plunge available, but overall, the experience was awesome. I booked a 50-minute massage, and it exceeded my expectations. I was initially hesitant because of some mixed reviews, but it ended up being one of the best massages I've ever had. I left feeling relaxed and refreshed. I also took some time to unwind in the steam room and sauna. I love that they offer free smores at 6pm. That was a fun experience by the fire outside. While we were there, we got to see an outdoor wedding. Absolutely stunning and beautiful weather. Our husbands loved the golf course at Omni. They definitely would come back. Beautiful setting and rather easy to get to. Facility and staff are great, but you are paying for it. Conference space and food was very good along with the coffee. Wi-Fi is terrible- very spotty. We overall enjoyed our experience. Parker with the Valet service was great, the gentleman who bartended at Nopales (also bar backed at Jim Bobs) was fantastic, fun, and very friendly. We did have two negatives: 1) we were sitting by the splash pad because we have a toddler and we were passed several times before being helped (first day at the resort). By the second day, we decided to try again and I had to go track someone down to ask for a menu. He said he would tell the server. After watching all the servers make several laps to take orders, bring drinks, etc we were finally waited on. Once we were waited on (both days) things were fine but getting waited on to start was NOT GOOD. 2) the sink in our hotel room was slow draining. Totally able to work around this, especially since we weren't planning to spend lots of time in the room. But we noticed on our last night that the sink would fill back up from the drain if the shower was running. This brought up some particles from the drain pipe as well. Maintenance was told that evening (we did not have them come fix it that night because our toddler was asleep already). read more

Beautiful hotel, location, awesome amenities! The views are gorgeous, the rooms are clean and spacious and the staff is super friendly. The restaurants on-site are delicious and the portions are huge (even the kids meals). I love that this is a kid-friendly resort as our toddler is having a blast, as are we! There's an astroturf area she likes to crawl on and stuff for bigger kids (bounce houses, putt-putt). The pool area is super nice too- a lot of seating options with and without umbrellas as well as a poolside bar and food. The splash pad is tiny but perfect for toddlers and younger. The adults only pool is so serene and beautiful. The gym is pretty large and made me happy with all of the equipment. There's a women's only exercise area, an indoor track, indoor pool (all ages), locker rooms and group classes. There is even a water bottle fill station that lets you pick still or sparkling water (extra fancy!). The thing I don't like is the provided shampoo, etc. as they do not lather worth anything so I don't ever feel clean after a shower. The resort is clean, open and has quite a few delicious restaurants to choose from. A few are on the higher end while others aren't as expensive as you'd expect and the portions are huge! We are loving this staycation even though no one in our party is a golfer. Breathtaking views of valley abound. One of my favorite things to do is drop by the bar prior to dinner & sit on the balcony. With martini in hand, I love to watch the golfers at one of the courses trickiest holes - seriously entertaining. The espresso martini is one of the best I've had. The outdoor pool area is also lovely overlooking a bucolic scene of the valley. The day we went to the pool, I embarrassingly bobbled my drink as I was getting into the pool. The waiter was amazing and brought me another drink on the house - and to be clear, it was my clumsiness that was the issue. We went to the pool on an overcast afternoon and as dusk approached, some No See Ums unpleasantly came out to interrupt the time. The person I was with said, he'd never encountered them before so I think it was a combination of the time (near dusk). The event area & fire-pits are beautiful as well. This was my first time at the Mokara Spa and it was a lovely day, for the most part. Ambrosia and Nate (both at the front desk) were friendly and helpful. The check-in area is fresh and bright. There is a little gift shop with candles and jewelry etc. Why I'm not giving it five stars was the amount of people that were in the spa and the loud talking throughout the spa. Part of that is on me for not checking that there were (two) weddings on site. The spa was booked all day and all of the waiting/lounge rooms were overcrowded. It was a rainy overcast day so that probably had something to do with it since you couldn't really be at the private spa pool. The women's changing room is a large u-shaped area with bright lights and very little privacy. There is a private changing room but the lock didn't work. I have been to many spas and this one was the loudest!!! All spas that I have ever been to have been quiet...almost eerily. ;) Everyone that was in the hot tub thought this was the place to chit chat. I wish someone would have asked people to quiet down. You could plainly hear their conversations in the women's waiting lounge. I had an amazing massage with Ramona ?...she's from Czech Republic and could even pronounce my name correctly! If you want a strong massage...book with her. After that, I hopped in the sauna. It was a perfect combination to the massage. Following the sauna, I went in the hot tub. It's a hard surfaced space which bounces sound all around. I was quietly sitting by myself and was then joined by three young ladies, probably in their 30's. They start chatting loudly which made me leave as I was not enjoying myself. I didn't come to the spa to listen to girly talk. When not overcrowded, the waiting area was soothing and calm. I was lucky enough to have a corner spot and could bring the curtains around me; making it extra cozy. The robes are plush and the spa shoes are comfortable. The lockers are easy to lock/unlock. They provide you with two towels in your locker but there are many around if you need them. The same chatty girls were showering and getting ready in the spa locker room for the wedding. Again, making it not very chill. Note: check if there are weddings or events as it will affect the crowd at the spa. *The spa is open from 9-7. You can use all of the amenities and come and go as needed. I'll plan for that next time. read more

This review is mostly for the restaurant Crenshaw's. Although the lobby and common areas of the hotel are modern and beautiful. We did not stay at the hotel. Only came for the day. Crenshaw's restaurant is inside located in the Omni Hotel @ Barton Creek. Nice views of the golf course, however the day we went it was raining so we didn't venture outside. Service was good. I had the Field of Greens Salad, which was delicious and a very decent portion for a meal. It had tender boston bibb lettuce, tangy grapefruit, crumbled goat cheese, crispy prosciutto & toasted pecan w/ citrus vinaigrette. And I added the chopped chicken breast. So many things to say about this place that I'm not sure where to begin! From the moment we arrived, hotel staff ensured that every bit of our stay was enjoyable. The guy at the front desk even gave us a room with a view! I've been to Omni hotels in other cities, and I must admit that NONE of them even come close to this place. From lazing around in the sun enjoying refreshing cocktails by the pool or getting an incredible massage at the spa, this place really knows how to provide a luxury Hill Country experience. 10/10 recommend this place for a weekend getaway, retreat, family vacay, golf trip, or special event. I used to stay downtown for work trips, but after trying out Omni Barton Creek - I am converted! The staff is so kind and hospitable, they truly make your stay wonderful. Everyone I've interacted with has been welcoming - from the valet, to the front desk, to the bartenders. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. I'm giving them a 3 star rating because it isn't very clean in the women's part of the spa. The hit tub is missing tile and had a huge crack in it. The dark quite area has blackest on the chairs but just folds them and puts them back after they have been used. The power tripped in the hair blow out area as we were half way done but they had to wait for engineers to fix it. The spa needs updating. read more

This is a well-run hotel. What stood out most was the service. The front desk staff are professional and accommodating, and the housekeeping team is remarkably efficient, keeping our room and the common areas spotless. The true mark of a great hotel is how they handle the unexpected. We had one minor issue, and the staff's response was so immediate and generous that it became a positive reflection on their commitment to guests. The property is well maintained--we even saw staff doing touch-up painting. They seem adept at managing large events; we saw several groups that were clearly having a great time, yet it was all handled so smoothly that it never interfered with our stay. Our friends who were also visiting had a great experience on the golf courses and said it was very easy to get tee times. The rooms are comfortable and very quiet at night. While we didn't eat on property much, the couple of times we did the food was good and came quickly. And the gym is truly incredible. They say it's the largest hotel gym in the country, and it's the only one I've ever seen with proper barbells. A few final thoughts to help set expectations. The resort is vibrant and busy, which is part of its appeal. It's more of a family and group-friendly place than a quiet boutique hotel, but there are still a few spots to relax by the pool or in a rocking chair. Regarding cost, we felt it was entirely appropriate for the calibre of the hotel and the service provided. We did notice the valet and parking area seemed chaotic, so that's something to be aware of. Also, a tip: if you want to use the spa, book well in advance. We couldn't get a spot on Friday or Saturday, which just speaks to its high demand. My friends and I had a great time at the Omni pool! We booked a day pass through Resort Pass. For those who may require accessibility accommodations, it is a bit go a walk to the pool and not much signage to get there form the garage. But the staff is very friendly and will guide you in your way! Came here on a Sunday. I appreciate the covered parking that is included at the resort. They have 3 different pool options, one of which is adults only. Also you can get poolside food and drink. I tried the crab cake burger which was delicious and a great portion size! It was a great day, not too crowded. We were able to find a few chairs with umbrellas as well. They can bring your drinks to you in the pool which I loved. (shoutout to our kind server Sara!) This is a sprawling facility located outside of Austin. There are several swimming pools, nearby golf, a gym, plenty of places to relax and enjoy the beautiful views. My room was nice and included the usual amenities (shampoo/lotion/body wash, hair dryer) as well as in-room coffee and tea, two bottles of water (to make the coffee and tea) and a mini-fridge. There was a small desk, a big flat screen TV, and a balcony. The staff was friendly. So why only three stars? It reflects my view on the value. With taxes and fees -- and a group rate discount -- my room was $420 a night. And there was nothing special about it. I could have been in a Marriott or a Hilton and paid half as much. And for $420 a night, I expect more. And because I didn't have a car, I didn't even pay the extra $40 a night to park! Did I have an unpleasant experience checking in? I did. Did they solve the problem? They did. Here's a tip: if you have a problem, the people linked to the text line are much more responsive than calling the front desk. And if you really want something done, have the housekeeping staff help you out. They have clout! read more

This place is beautiful! Rooms are nice and clean, restaurants and bar are great with good food and drinks, people are all friendly! Overall great place to stay and relax! Not to mention adult pool was a great time! read more

I'd recommend the Omni for their awesome staff and hospitality. The country club (separate from the resort) wasn't great. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience at Omni, but not at the country club. read more
