Hamachi roll
Mia B.

The views are really the main attraction here- we sat indoors but the patio is right on the water and so nice. We arrived around 2PM and were able to sit immediately. But the food took a while, about 20 minutes. The hamachi in the roll was fresh, but the sauce tasted a little bit like cleaner fluid. The burger was decent, but $26. So if you go, be ready to be paying for the ambience, not really for the food.

A few girlfriends and I met here for happy hour and had a great time. Happy hour is Mon-Fri 3p-6p. We had a lovely table outside with views of the lake. Their happy menu rocks with lots of good choices and variety. We had a lot of food and some great cocktails. Some of the delicious dishes we tried were, Rock Shrimp Tempura in Spicy Aioli, Truffle fries, Char-Grilled Octopus, Beef Yakimeshi Bowl and the Hamachi Frida Roll. All so yummy and we got completely filled. For dessert we had the Blueberry cobbler - so good! Perfect for romantic dates or a girl's night out with a beautiful ambiance.

In town from Chicago and a few of us decided to check this out. We had a reservation and they called us 30 minutes before it to tell us we would have to sit outside. It was cold and rainy. We were sat on the patio next to the water. We were shivering and after we let them manager know they finally sat us inside. Jasmine, our server, was the only bright spot here. She was great! But the food was overpriced and just ok. The dumplings were the only thing worth ordering in my opinion.

The view, bright and open to nature atmosphere, service are all great. We had a great time meeting friends for a brunch. Unfortunately, the food could be better. I had avocado toast that was basically an avocado spread on thick baguette, not toasted and not too exciting flavor profile.

An amazing experience! we visited Quince on a Tuesday right before HH ended and Jasmine (and Miles!) took great care of us! the ambiance of this restaurant is unmatched. We sat on the patio and walking through the restaurant the pops of color and the way the decor is such a clean aesthetic was breath taking. We ordered a little of everything... best were the Surf and Turf Roll, the Peruvian Brisket Fries, but also the Tuna Roll, the Dynamite Shrimp and everything else was TOP NOTCH! Will definitely be back!

Aji Pepper Risotto

This was our second time at Quince and we will keep coming back! The atmosphere, the service, and the food were all wonderful. You can never go wrong with the hummus appetizers here. Last year they had a short rib & hummus appetizers that I loved, this year they had hummus & crispy brussels that was just as tasty. I tend to go for things I don't see all over review pages and today that was the Aji Pepper Risotto. It was PHENOMENAL!!! The flavors throughout the entire dish were perfect, nothing was overly spicy or salty, just rich and filling in the best way. I was able to finish about 3/4 before I was full and passed the rest to my husband who also looooved it. Carlitos was a great server, attentive and prompt and orchestrated a great night. I love this place, I think it's exactly where you want to be to enjoy Austin in the spring, celebrate events, and take visitors to enjoy a great meal.

Food. Ceviche and verde roll, vegan and dip.

Mia took care of us and the service was good. No issues helping to accommodate vegan options for my daughter. The view and area was really nice. Not crowded and easy pace in an otherwise busy city. Good was great. Got the mahumarra (sp). Was really tasty. Also the ceviche was exceptional. Fresh fish. Great lime but not overpowering.

What a cute place to celebrate any phase of life or just enjoy a great meal with a beautiful view! we made a reservation ahead of time for a birthday celebration. each dish we ordered averaged about 20$ each (nigiri was 10$ for 2 pieces) drinks were average of 15$ each. everything we had was packed with flavor. portions were a bit small but we ordered quite a few things and shared it all. Fish seemed fresh, only thing that was missing was some type of spice (we like spicy) but other then that , no complaints! my personal favorites were the torched salmon pressed sushi, and the tuna tower! our waiter was pretty attentive but didn't seem too excited to be there. overall we enjoyed the beautiful setting and had a wonderful evening dining with Quince! Pro tip: download the inkind App, we got 30$ off 90$ and 20% back!

The place is so beautiful, there's so much space inside and the lakeside view is gorgeous. My friends and I came here for brunch and devoured our meals. Everything was so so yummy. We could taste the authentic Mexican flavors in the food and ingredients. Our waiter was great, though it looked like he was juggling 5+ tables so service was a bit slower than I'd like but still attentive.

5 stars for the ambience and view 2 stars for the food . Sushi / fish was not fresh. The taco sushi we had, the shelf was half stale Maybe the brunch food is better... but nothing sushi related....

Lamb dumpling

Quince Lakehouse is nestled along the shores of Lake Austin, next door to Hula Hut and Mozart's (across the street from the LCRA). Quince Lakehouse is a summer vibe with a spectacular panoramic view of Lake Austin, fresh air wafting in from the lake and warm sun rays kissing your skin. The multi-tiered decks give the feeling of being on a boat (not sure if this was intentional). This is the ultimate relaxing and chill environment. Quince creates a lake house ambience with stringy light fixtures, life size figurines at entry and homey feel with bookshelves like you might see in a home. This restaurant has changed ownership several times but always manages to reopen. A group of colleagues decided to get together for Happy Hour. The menu is a convergence of foods from Latin America, Asia, and US. We ate mainly appetizers: lamb barbacoa dumplings, smooth hummus, & naan, eggplant tempura bites, rock shrimp tempura in spicy aioli and boa carnitas. All the appetizers were good, however, the standouts for me were rock shrimp tempura and the boa carnitas. I had sparkling rose for the first time and it was absolutely delicious...very refreshing. The perfect attire for Quince Lakehouse is shorts, polos, sandals...casual Austin chic. Outside on the deck it is a bit hot, although there are misters sprinkled throughout the deck. We mainly stayed inside to avoid the 95 degree weather. Important to note, parking is a challenge. I circled the parking lot three times before this nice gentleman told me he was leaving but it would take a few minutes to get packed in the car. I was extremely thankful for his kindness. There is limited street parking. Quince Lakehouse is a great spot for special occasions, scenic vistas, beautiful sunsets, or a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. This dining experience was memorable. Definitely will be returning...

Love Love this place! Definitely need to come during a sunset moment - we ended up coming here for my friend's birthday dinner and it was dark already! The food was delicious we got the shrimp tempura, hummus with Brussels sprouts, chicken fried rice bowls and the shrimp bowl! It was amazing! I think the hummus/ Brussels were my favorite part!! Service was honestly just blah - he didn't really do anything too special for the Birthday. Will come back again forsure for the food!

Quince Lakehouse Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Quince Lakehouse

Is there an actual Happy Hour menu? Can't find one on the net anywhere.... I see their HH is Mon-Fri 3-5:00 but no HH Menu listed on their website or on Yelp.

We were at Quince Lakehouse on 4/13/24 (Saturday). The place was packed, so I don't know if there was a Happy Hour menu for non-weekend days. Hula Hut next door does have a Happy Hour menu.

Are there any light shareable appetizers that would be appropriate for making available for a small group informal gathering?

Definitely! The hummus (with Brussels or short ribs) and toasted pita is one I can personally recommend.

Is there valet parking?

We went during the day and there wasn't a valet on duty so we parked across the street in the lot. But I saw a valet stand...not sure what hours they actually have that up and running.

Is there a kid menu?

I didn't see one, but it could be a separate menu and not printed on the main one we were given. Since we didn't have kids with us maybe they just didn't give us one? Sorry I don't know for sure.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, we are dog friendly!

Is there any happy hour here?

yes, there was a happy hour

I was only able to eat two. I also had a glass of prosecco and half of a glass my friend could not drink. A couple of friends had wine flights. Both the food and drink was very satisfying. This is the third time I have come here and the food was awful. The bruschetta has gone from being an amazing array of tastes to this sad Soviet Union dish. The goat cheese was a sad amount, the salmon was sparse and salty like gefilte, the prosciutto looked grey. My crispy chicken sandwich was uninspired, cold and tasted like I was eating out of a food truck during my lunch break. My friends sandwich was Cuban and was soggy and wet and cold the meat looked gray. Last time I was here I ordered a pizza the crust was wet and soaked with grease. This is not a cheap fast food place so then the question we have to answer is why is the food served like this and what can be done to rescue this staple of the west lake hills. Please fix this. But definitely a packed place with all the seating a bit tight. Looking at the menu it was a mix of Tex-Mex Polynesian fusion items. We decided to start off with the Mexonesian shrimp flautas, main course was the back ribs and dessert Cinnamon Toast Crunch fried ice cream. The appetizer was an interesting mix of what I would call something between a stuffed jalapeño popper and cheese wonton. Crispy, saucy, cheesey and a sweet plum sauce to balance out the flavors. The ribs definitely did not come to play. Nice size rack of ribs, saucey spicy bbq, tortillas to soak up the flavor and side potatoes plus cannot forget about the wet wipes. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch fried ice cream is a monster of a dessert. Softball sized scoop, crunchy Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, whipped cream and chocolate syrup/caramel streaks. Definitely shareable. Overall it was a straightforward visit and the view is nice next to the lake at Hula Hut. Our staff was nice and our server Violet was great. My only issues why I did not make it a 5 star were really small things that I was attentive to: *Though we had our silverware and drinks, when the appetizer came out, there were no plates even when given the chips and salsa at the table and had to ask one of the food runners. *My ribs were good and the portion great but when I think of ribs, I would think of some tenderness to the meat and a little bit of fall of the bone action. I found the ribs to be overcooked in some where the meat felt a bit tough. And I would run my fork through the rib meat to check the tenderness and it did give me some push back. Definitely cooked through nonetheless but maybe a little too long. The potatoes were an interesting take too. Definitely different versus fries so it kind of surprised me to have these instead of the traditional take.

Loro is an Asian smokehouse and bar featuring grilled and smoked meats with Southeast Asian and Japanese-inspired sauces, sides, and a bar that boasts craft beer, boozy slushees, and batch cocktails. Parking at this location is a bit of a challenge. They have overflow parking in the back but the spots are really small. We sat at the bar area and worked our way through cocktails, apps, and dessert. We opened a tab and the bar staff takes your order which is convenient, versus how you normally have to order by waiting in line at the bar. The bar staff was extremely busy because they have to make all the cocktails and take the line orders at the bar. They are a master of multitasking. It was $3 martini night on Tuesday, so was excited to sample the four different drink options. lychee martini, Mexican martini, and Lucky Cat cosmo martini. Lychee martini is made with new amsterdam vodka, sake, elderflower, Mexican martini with espolon blanco, olive, yuzu, lime and cosmo with vodka, blood orange, naranja, lime. The lychee was hands down my favorite of the three. We started with the Dip Sampler that included a trifecta of smoked shishito queso, smoked salmon dip and Thai green salsa with the Siete blue corn tortilla chips. We went through the chips quickly and got a second round of wonton chips which I preferred to the Siete chips. Tried the Mango Chamoy frozen Slushee with Siete Chamoy Botana Sauce & Siete Chile Lime Seasoning Rim, passionfruit, Aperol, Sake and Sparkling Wine which was refreshing. All their boozy slushies are $5 during happy hour. I've had many interesting cocktails in my day but it's been a long time since I had a cocktail that truly surprised me - and this one did! I asked about a floral drink and they told me it's floral but not too sweet and that was exactly correct. The Chinese plum flavor with the ginger was a lovely combination, I can truly say I don't think I've had a drink like it and I love it when I can say that! We ordered the Fideos à la Cassola ($20) and shared it. Neither of us were very hungry and this dish was so tasty and rich that even half of it with the cocktail was plenty and we didn't need anything else to eat. The service is also phenomenal, our waitress was so sweet and at one point the manager came by and offered some Cava (like spanish prosecco) to our table and the table next to us. It is served by being poured directly from a very cool looking decanter, almost like a genie's lamp? He poured it directly into our mouths from arm height while we were sitting, it was such a fun thing to try! And on top of all this - the ambiance inside is lovely, it would be a great date spot.
