I wish there was a zero star option. This store deserves zero stars. Actually this company deserves zero stars. This company has no morals and is unethical to the max. I have been working for this company for about 3 months. I ended up leaving the job on the spot because all of the managers really enjoyed harassing me!! It got so bad to the point where it was consistently unbearable. This is not a playground for kids, this is a job! I would not recommend working here or even shopping here. Everything is at least $5 more than Amazon. And save your time by not associating yourself with rude employees. All they do is harass co-workers enjoyably, blame you for everything, lie to you, and not explain certain things properly and call you unintelligent even though they do not explain it at all!! I called HR three weeks ago... they didn't do anything. And why hasn't HR gotten back to me? No one does their job here properly. The District Manager Jake does not care about anything just his money. Not even so to save an employee that works for their company. By the way, they started me off $2.00 more per hour, while a worker who was here for over a year gets $2.00 less an hour. This company lacks every moral. I've worked at a few retail places as a manager, and I have to admit that this is the worst company to work for. No one cares, they just want to suck off your money. Try Amazon it's $5-$10 cheaper, and you don't have to drive to the Vitamin Shoppe. This company just only cares about your money, they don't care about people or people's healths. They want you to make them the most money, so we all can get our commission checks and so they can get a bigger one! :) I advise you to stay away from this place especially for a job option, unless you like to be stressed out 24/7 and harassed. The assistant manager Carmella likes to value herself rather than customers and co workers. I get asked to complete extra tasks, while Carmella just stands there at the cash wrap. Sometimes i felt like a dog on how she treated me. She made me run around the store. She gave me a lot of tasks at once, and I do not see her attempting to complete them as well. And she made customers wait so she can check herself out. I can not believe that the store manager sees this and says nothing. This store is toxic everywhere around it. And I am pretty sure you don't want to work in it. The people that run that store do not deserve their jobs just because of how they treat others especially co workers. I forgot to mention that the shipment gets left out in the sun for days sometimes a week (which is disgusting) Refrigerated Probiotics are left out in the sun... for a week!!! Customers purchase that, and I am the one running the shipment and completing it by myself most of the times because I do not want customers to buy product that is left in the sun for a week. I just do not understand how I did everything in that store, and I was doing everyone's work at some point without proper training (three months into the job) and still got under appreciated and harassed. One of the managers named Joe asked me how "my poop went." Why would you even say that to someone especially a co- worker. I feel like the Crystal Lake location needs a proper management staff that actually cares about their jobs, co-workers, and customers. And who aren't rude! And thank you Jacob Dodge for the free money on the return! You did not even ask what we were doing and automatically assumed that i'm returning everything even though I picked things off the shelf. read more

UPDATE: heard from there customer service folks via email but nothing at the leadership level to resolve. Won't give them another dollar I normally come here and the staff is generally ok. Tonight I had some product that I had opened and used but was ineffective and was intending to return it. The first thing the Store Manager did was open the product and say "there's nothing left in here!" There was a fair amount of product left and I asked him what he was talking about. I selected product that has been working for me and went back to the counter and to receive a refund. It was at this point the Store Manager informed me that He had a 30 day return policy. I told that was ok and we proceeded with what he could return. Now, why the one star? I have returned opened to this very location in the past well beyond 30 days past the original purchase date and it's been returned no problem. I have been shopping here for over 5 years at various locations and I have never been told that a 30 day policy existed. More to the point - this store manager was attempting to accuse me of fraud and that doesn't sit well with me. I didn't steal anything, I actually still purchased product (arguably for the last time) from them. Shame on all of you for your poor customer service. If I could give you no stars I would read more

Wish there was something less than a 1 star rating I could give this place. The female co-owner has to be one of the most rude individuals I have ever come across. The countless times I have been in there she has never smiled, said "Hi" or thanked me for a purchase. I have just let that go in the past, but today she stepped it upon a notch for being anti- customer centric. Long story short, she didn't want to convert my points over to a dollar value so that I could by a few items. Other Vitamin Shoppes have done this for me several times, so I knew that it could be done. So on based upon the principle, I basically explained to her that I knew it could be done and how it is done. With a bit of surprise and resentment, she went ahead and completed my transaction Save yourself the frustration and go to another location - this place doesn't deserve the business of hard working people. read more

I called today regarding a MRE whole food replacement container that I purchased. Long story short online they have pictures of the nutritional information which is misleading and false advertisement. The nutrition label states 0 cholesterol on the website. after purchasing it and reading that it wasn't the same nutritional information I saw online I nicely called and mentioned it to the women that the labeling is incorrect and the product contains 100mg of cholesterol and also mentioned that my big noise MRE redcon1 will not fully mix. After spending $80.00 on MRE whole food meal replacement (chocolate chip oatmeal) and another $40ish on their big noise I feel like I just got hosed. (Staceys) response was very hesitant and I wouldn't say helpful to the least. She was rude and pretty much told me their not accepting returns due to covid 19 which I completely understand. She also used a excuse that redcon1 changed may have changed labeling. That's cool and all but it's not my problem, when selling a product it is the stores responsibility to stay informed on change to a product and what they are advertising before selling. She then went on to tell me that they will send me a shipping label for the returns to vitamin shop Corp. however she couldn't tell me if they would refund the money, send new batches or how they would handle it. Hahaha I'm not going to spend $120.00 just to send in to a corporate facility and then never hear a response back or find out I'm shit out of luck. When I asked to have a manager give me a call back Stacey began talking over me like what I had to say didn't matter to her. I recommend going elsewhere after seeing how they handle their customer service. Highly highly disappointed. Hopefully I can get a call from somebody that can handle customer service. read more

Out of the supplement and vitamin shops in the local area this one offer the best value for your money. There is no membership required and the prices will be matched at the store if you find something on THEIR website that is advertised as cheaper. The staff is friendly and knew exactly where to find what of on my list in the store. The location is a bit congested with traffic especially during lunch hours because of the many local restaurants and shopping. Overall an excellent store for supplements and vitamins. read more
