Came in looking for protein bars on sale as we consume a lot of them, they had a buy one at full price and get 50% off the second box. Still a little costly but the deal made it reasonable. Also, The Vitamin Shoppe gave me a good substitute for non-caffeine days which was perfect. I use Acetyl-L-Caritine, Alpha-GPC, and Ginkgo Biloba. This has been so far the worst store ever and the worst experience i ever had, I made and order on line on OCT 23, which takes them more than 2 hours as mentioned online, i went to the store walking and when i reached , i met the most rude and unprofessional clerk who refused to deliver my prepaid order to me because i don't have a physical ID ,However it is clearly mentioned online and by email "bring the ID or order confirmation " as per the attached pics and i gave him my name when he asked and order confirmation email and order details on my store app on my phone too. I love the convenience, product quality and variety, customer service and return policy here. I really don't take many supplements; however, I do enjoy my protein shakes and the occasional supplement like Nordic Naturals Omega 3. Speaking of which, I find this shop to have a better inventory than Whole Foods for many of my nutritional needs. This store has consistently excellent customer service. I am ALWAYS greeted immediately and asked upon entering if I need any help locating something or if I have any questions. Often, I do have questions or need assistance. However, if I don't, they leave me the heck alone which is also a nice bonus. I have never found them to be pushy or aggressive in sales tactics and that's also a relief. Every time I've needed an item - say an organic raw vegan protein powder, a whey protein in a fun flavor like banana, or an Omega 3 liquid supplement, the associate knows exactly where to take me and gives me a few options with pros and cons of the different brands. Perfect! I also like that I can check the store inventory online prior to making a trip. This shop also honors any coupons or specials that are available to the online customer. Bonus! Pre-COVID, their return policy was more than fair and excellent! I took advantage of it if something was not working for me. Ordered some Resveratrol with Pterostilbene online for curbside pickup here that I needed to send off overseas tomorrow morning. The label on the vitamin shoppe website was completely wrong and claimed to have Pterostilbene and charged a premium for it. The staff gave me a bottle of cheap resveratrol. They claim it's the manufacturers error and that maybe it has some "just a little though". When clearly the label on the website says it has Pterostilbene. Since they had no other options in store I was force to just take the two bottles with me. Does the manufacturer control your website images?? That would be odd. Do they also control your "order is ready for pickup" emails because you have two obvious typos on there of the word "separate". Very, very unprofessional. Won't be coming back here. read more

I have been purchasing supplements from the Vitamin Shoppe for about ten years now. The store in Marina del Rey is convenient for me. I have always had a good shopping experience there. The store is clean, well-stocked and well-organized. The staff is always helpful, knowledgeable and personable. I recently found out that Stephanie, a staff member I had known from the store for around eight years, no longer worked there. I wanted to let management know, how much I appreciate all the help and nutritional advice she had given me through the years. 10/13/23, at 7:45pm... I walk into this store, politely greeted by a seemingly reasonable man. I ask if you have pine pollen, he says no -- I ask if you have bee pollen, he says yes. So I ask where it would be and he points it out to me. I go to the section and see the different options, then turn around to see what others may be on the shelf behind me. While turning around, I see a bathroom area and ask if they are customer restrooms. This guys has the audacity to say, *while slouched over with his elbows on his desk* "they're for customers only, are you a customer?" with the look of a smarta** on his face. 1. What kind of stupid question is that? 2. If I weren't a customer... don't you think I would've asked about the restroom the moment I entered the store rather than your bee pollen? What a silly remark. In fact, it was so stupid, I had to hold myself back from bursting out in laughter. Are people not allowed to use the restroom as they're shopping? They must purchase an item first to use? I had a full smile on my face when he asked that and stared at me (as he waited for a response). I noticed another customer coming over, who intersected the employee and I's line of sight... smiled at him and thought to myself.... "Let me spare this fool." He got no response from me. Then he had the nerve to ask if I had a membership with you guys. So I need to verify that I'm a member just to use your restroom? Lol absolute buffoonery. Left immediately. The Vitamin Shoppe is a great place for discounted product values, strong customer service and convenient parking just across the street from COSTCO. I normally like to purchase my items without any store assistance, but this wonderful woman named Stephanie was eager to help me and offered some great advice. She truly wanted to be helpful. How rare is that today? In particular, she recommended some products for my nose which worked well and my runny nose is now going away! It is refreshing to speak with an employee who has a high understanding of my needs and did not try to pressure me to purchase anything. Wow! Just when I thought customer service didn't exist! The young dark-haired guy working today (April 7th) was the person I called the other day with questions about a calcium supplement. I don't remember what this guy's name is but he was so incredibly helpful. I asked him the other day to please hold my calcium supplement (which he did) and put in a bag (so it wouldn't be subjected to the light)... when I came in today they matched another company's price, pulled out the bag with my supplement and this employee asked me about the dog I was fostering!! (He remembered that I couldn't make it in the store yesterday because of my foster dog and actually asked me today how the dog was - just wow!)! I hope someone from corporate office will read this and just in case you do -- you hired a great guy who is professional, caring and who obviously cares about his job and your employees! I don't know much about protein powders and supplements, so I went into The Vitamin Shoppe hoping to get schooled and possibly walk away with a tub of powder or pills. When I walked in, nobody greeted me or asked me if I needed help. I meandered through the labeled aisles but had no idea what I was looking at. I flagged down a worker and asked if the difference in price between two powders was the flavors. She looked at it, said it was just misplaced, and put away on a lower shelf. I read the label, and it was actually correct where it was before! I left empty handed and still as confused about protein powders and supplements as when I arrived. I am sincerely dumbfounded by all the reviews I've read here. I hadn't bothered to write a review because frankly I don't think much of my interactions at this store, but credit is deserved where it is due. I've been a regular customer at this location for 5+ years now. Everyone there is always attentive even though they know I know my way around their inventory. No one fails to greet me when I walk in either. I also read a few reviews pertaining to their return policy. If you return items within the allotted time frame, they are extremely accommodating and flexible. I know this from first hand experience. If a company or brand have a policy regarding how long you may wait, that has nothing to do with locale or employees. I went to this location yesterday to buy my first ever pre-workout and as one can imagine I was pretty clueless on what I was doing. The associate who assisted me (I don't know his name--young guy, brunette longer hair) started to point me in the right direction immediately. He recommended a more beginner friendly pre-workout and explained the specific ingredients, what they do, and how they would affect me, all while not making me feel stupid for my lack of knowledge on the subject. I'll admit that the terms flying around freaked me out a tad so when going home I ended up googling "best pre workout for me" kind of stuff and he pretty much hit the nail on the head with the minimal information I provided him (I tried it today and it was great). I am a personal trainer who whas been buying VS products for a long time and so far I have loved them. Unfortunately i bought dymatize strawberry protein and something must be wrong with this product because gave me and my roomate food poisoning and we both were ill after taking it. Puking and really sick. I tried returning at the vitamine shoppe but they would not take it back because it was passed 30 days with complete disregard of how sick we got. Not sure if you had similar complaints but something is definetly wrong with this batch. Be careful buying dymatize Elite strawberry if you dont want to get totally sick!!!' I been shopping here for years and was going to do a large purchase for my gym but after they would not return the protein for a few bucks they lost a lifetime customer and i will be telling my gym members to go elsewhere. Poor quality products. The house brands of protein powder have poor quality ingredients, including sucralose which is carcinogenic, among other things. I don't have the label in front of me because I won't buy them after reading the ingredients, which says a lot as I am a careful consumer. Or at least I try to be, though it is not easy. There is no way, other than buying a subscription to online lab reports, to determine the quality of their supplements. I called about one rather pricey supplement that I typically buy there as I was going to head over and buy some. I wanted to know what assurance they could provide that the house label is a quality product, and the answer basically was "none." The first man I spoke to put me on hold in order to retrieve the report he says they have, then a second guy gets on the phone with a total attitude (seemed angry that he has to buy 1,000 minutes of cellular time per week to deal with customers, which is odd as there is a landline phone in the store) and he tells me I have to buy the consumer labs report for $60. Ok, thanks, that is helpful. Ok, in fairness he offered to go to the library on his lunch hour to get the report, I guess, but he was not clear despite my asking about what he was going to get there, in addition to making me feel kind of like a jerk for asking and having him waste his lunch hour. I mean I could go to the library too, but then he made it sound like he just needed Internet access. I said "I have Internet access, I just don't want to pay for a report to see if the product is quality or not" and he says, "Well, you'll just have to pay for the report." And the first guy had said they have it there! So.... The staff here turns over so frequently that I never see the same people, or managers, twice. Some of them try hard to be helpful, but I question the basis of their recommendations. There is usually nothing behind it other than the brand name, meaning if they think it's a good brand. Well, how about some evidence? There is none. These poor reviews that complain that no one greeted them or came over and helped them are ridiculous. Does anyone greet you at Whole Foods, or Trader Joe's, or Macy's or Nordstrom? Who cares? And if you need help selecting a product, then ask at the front desk. They are happy to help, assuming they have good info for you. I wish that people would write reviews based on substance, not fluff. And the substance of a supplement store is, are they quality ingredients, or am I paying for harmful chemicals or sawdust? If they are quality, shouldn't they be substantiating and shouting it from the rooftops? I am not the only person with this concern, and it is a multi-billion dollar industry. Aggravating. read more

She is very generous with her time and super knowledgeable . Over the years I have been learning from her and over all it saved me money on redundant supplements . Finally there is a Vitamin Shoppe on the west-side, and a good one at that (I sound like a total meat-head). All the Vitamin Shoppes I have been to, have been big and well stocked, this one does not fall short. When ever I do go I always ask the salespeople for their advice on protein and other suggestions they may have. I ask, and they tell me - and it always seems to be a different answer - which isn't a bad thing. Sometimes I leave content, and sometimes confused as to whether the salesperson really knew what they were talking about. I think if you work at a Vitamin Shop in general you should probably know more than the average shopper. I received supplement advice from a guy named Mike at this vitamin shoppe who should be teaching classes in nutrition. He walked me through the workout process and made suggestions in regards to my regiment. I have always been a bit apprehensive about taking vitamins or any supplemental treatments. I am simply not sure if the vitamins/supplements that are offered will actually make a discernible difference or improvements in my life. While I am skeptical about the positive claims, I am pretty sure that taking daily vitamins are harmless. As a person who enjoys working out, I was looking for a protein boost that has little to no carbs or sugar. After scouring the neighborhood, I could not find any store other than the Vitamin Shoppe that sells a Protein power with no carbs or sugar. I was looking for Nature's Best Isopure and the Vitamin Shoppe came to rescue. It was about 45 dollars, a bit pricey for my standards, but comparable to the market. I left the store satisfied and picked up a free magazine on my way out. While I am still a not sure about the unfounded impact these supplements have on ones health, the Vitamin Shoppe seems to have noble intentions and offer a vast array of products. read more

Upon inquiring about local inventory I was instructed to enter my zip code in the website to find the stock of other local locations since the woman who answered did not have the other store phone numbers in front of her. The product has been out of stock for over a month. Hung up and went to Amazon and ordered (for half the price) with prime shipping to arrive Monday morning. She should have just told me to visit Amazon.com because technology and poor service will cause The Vitamin Shoppe to go out of business. I walk over to the protein aisle to see if I can find some things I was looking for no one came to assist me at any point in time. I walk over to ask a question but I believe that someone was at the counter so I waited. The lady at the counter actually worked there, she said what can help you with. I asked question if they price match online companies she told me I can't help you with that. Ask the cashier. The cashier gave me a short answer saying that they did but the don't honor promotions.
