They then came back and told me I was lucky that it didn't cause any bleeding otherwise they would've quarantined her at the pound. I am not sure how more clear I could be saying this dog came from an abused home and is skittish. She has never bitten anyone as long as I've had her but how my communication was disregarded and how she was handled escalated the situation unnecessarily which almost resulted the to quarantining my dog.

We had her put in the daycare program this care center and one day when I picked her up, she was sneezing, coughing and had a runny nose. The daycare staff didn't mention anything to me and my other dog also quickly started sneezing and coughing. My puppy contracted kennel cough from either another infected dog or contaminated surface/object and brought it to my other dog from the daycare. They were both diagnosed with kennel cough here. Then in a recent visit about a few weeks ago, I believe it was a vet tech who asked me if I wanted to get bloodwork done on a general wellness visit on one of my dogs. I declined, saying that he needed to get it done anyway soon in another visit. She insisted on telling me it would be cheaper to do it now and kept pressing me on it. I said I'd think about it. When we went to the room with the Dr., I told her (the doctor) that I'd like to wait on his bloodwork because we'd have to do it again and I'd like less stress for him, even if it would be more expensive to wait. She looked at me and said it wouldn't be more expensive to wait, that it would cost the same. That blew my mind. I understand that mistakes happen, but that made me feel very uncomfortable. I've never had an experience like that here. And the final straw happened last week. I boarded both of our dogs there for the weekend for the first time. One of them came back just fine, but the other has had diarrhea for a week straight. My partner and I both called, he was told it didn't sound like it was an emergency because she had no other symptoms. He called again a day or so later and was told she should've been brought in. We came in and did not get a definitive answer other than it was probably the stress of the boarding. I was told the dogs had a great time. A week of pure liquid being sprayed out of the wrong end tells me otherwise. I asked the vet to do a fecal test on her to be safe, to which he agreed, but he did not do it. Now our other dog is also ill and having awful diarrhea. We also disclosed that she was in heat, which is unfortunate because she needs to be spayed. For this appointment we had a different Dr. He said he actually preferred animals to be in heat for a spay because it elongates their uterus. What he did not mention is that spaying while in heat is generally not recommended and poses severe health risks (such as excessive bleeding). I had received a second opinion from another vet and was informed of the risks. I would never put my puppy in a situation where her life could be at risk for a matter of convenience. For these reasons, we can no longer bring our pets here

Dr Mayer was very thorough. He did a full exam to be sure nothing else was going on. I never felt rushed. He really seemed to care and interested in Harvey's daily routine. He cleaned Harvey's ears and did a culture in left ear. It turned out to be a yeast infection. He put medication in Harvey's ear and said we were good to go. Harvey loved Dr Mayer and every staff member he met. I use medicated wipes on Harvey's bulldog facial wrinkles. The clinic ordered them for me and I was able to pick them up the next day. On all 4-5 occasions, we were treated with respect and it was very evident that both doctors and their nursing staff CARE about their jobs and taking care of their clients and their animals. In the most recent case, Our dachshund came back from boarding at a vet that I was skeptical about. We were going on vacation with family who need boarding for their dogs so we took all animals to that vet for boarding. After a week of boarding, he came back with what we now know is a bacterial and fungal infection. We were given meds, there were tests taken and there was a diagnosis given that was accurate. A week later (today), the DOCTOR called back personally to inform us that the dog's samples from testing were sent off to a third party who confirmed the diagnosis. My wife was extremely impressed with this. We've been to 3 vets prior to Carson and were not satisfied. Carson is more than satisfactory; both doctors are professional. It's hard to describe their treatment of animals- it's better to just say that they care and will do whatever necessary to help your animal- WITHOUT charging you unfairly. Financially, there pricing for care is VERY competitive and extremely fair. Thanks, Doctors and Nurses at Carson! EDIT: After speaking with the boarding vet, their indifference toward our plight was very evident. We had no interest in taking our animal back over there. Carson rescued Murphy again.

I went to the vet, to get my puppy's (three months old) checkup, deworm, and shots. As soon as I walked in, my dog stopped in the doorway. I had a hard time pulling him in with the door while also holding back the toddler. So, my daughter (3yo) ran straight in. I had to pick up the pup who weighs almost 23 lbs. I saw two people watching. I guess they pretended not to notice. My appointment was at 3:50 p.m. and I arrived early around 3:40. I was there until 4:32 p.m. It was really hot in there. I was sweating! When they came into the exam room, there was no introduction. The vet was, I assume Dr. Lee, I am still not sure since there was no introduction. My pup was uneasy on his first trip away from home. He started to growl. After coming out from under the chair, he looked at me, calmed down, and sat. I said, "Good boy" when he looked at me and sat. I guess it was the vet who told me not to praise my dog unless he is doing something I want him to do. I did, but she was not looking so I told her that I rewarded him for sitting, not growling. She sounded slightly rude, but she didn't see. How many times did I spell my dog's name for them? Over five. They still managed to spell it wrong. It's just a dog but pay attention, please! I am not sure why my payments could not have been done while I was in the exam room. This could have prevented the whole waiting-next-to-a-parrot situation. As I was paying, I asked for some information on a future appointment for my CAT. I was carrying my toddler and holding the leash of the 23lb pup. We were waiting, so I showed my daughter the African Grey Parrot. I know very much about animals, and I know not to put your finger in the cage. But my daughter had never seen one before. I was keeping her away from the cage the best I could. There is no sign and there are no barriers around the cage. Some places put plexiglass at the bottom for protection. Honestly, I couldn't see it until I heard him whistle. Rose came to hand me my receipt just as my daughter was getting closer to the cage. The bird saw this and came closer. As I was being handed my receipt and I turned to get it, my daughter was being bitten by the bird. One quick second is all it took. I want to point out that I was holding my daughter's hand and the leash the entire time. Before I could say don't touch, she was bitten. No, she did NOT stick her finger inside. She was pointing and it lunged at her finger and was just close enough to reach. The exact spot it happened was where the cage opens for the food dish. Rose asked if she was bleeding and I said no. So, of course, she said, "Don't stick your fingers in cages!" Then the lady said that she would email me the information instead so that I could leave. She confirmed my email address AGAIN before I went. I confirmed my information and the pup's name multiple times. That day they never emailed me the information that I was waiting on when she got bit! As if it was all for nothing. When I did finally get an email, it was the wrong information! I asked about my female cat's upcoming spay scheduled for 5 days later. Instead, they sent estimates for my puppy boosters and neuter. So, no wonder. I guess she thought I was stupid for asking about a spay for my "male" when I really was asking about my female cat. I guess I looked trashy, poor, and stupid if she thought I was asking for pricing on the "dog." Either way, I was not being listened to, which I find disrespectful. I'm sure they are good people, maybe it was just one of those days. I am sure your animal will be in good hands. If you don't like being social and are only focused on your pet, you might like this place. We will not be going back, and our furry family is growing as we will be adopting a puppy next fall. Aside from Dr. Fontenot telling…read moremy husband that she dislikes our breed of dog, A German Shepard, she let him walk out of her practice a year ago, claiming he had a false positive heartworm test. Fast-forward one year and we recently took him back there for his annual visit, and low and behold, he has heartworms. None of the issues we took him in for were addressed and Fontenot didn't even have the common decency to come out to the car (being they are still doing curbside only) to explain his course of treatment. Instead, she sent a vet tech out to our car to try and accuse us of skipping our dog's heartworm preventative ( of which I have records to prove that he has never missed). Accountability is everything in this world. Had she retested him a year ago, perhaps she would have found that indeed his first result was not a false positive. Instead, she is so quick to get everyone out of there. Not thorough at all! Profit only! Additionally, we cannot get this clinic to give our dog the heartworm preventative they are now recommending. They will not authorize his meds through third party services and have been giving me the run around for over a week about technical difficulties with their online store. Overall, this vet is highly incompetent and I believe that because she has such disdain for our dog's breed, she was hoping he would die of heartworms. Please do not bring your pets to this joke of an establishment.

Maybe I caught them on a bad day? First, they only have one doctor on staff and you can expect to wait upwards of thirty minutes to see him in the waiting area. The lady behind the counter doesn't really want to know you or why you're there and her attitude sucked... The visit felt very rushed especially after discovering my dog had heart worms. We rescued this dog not know he had the heart worms and were genuinely concerned for his health. I really didn't feel like they cared about our furry little friend. I'm not saying they have to personally care but on some level that is what vets are suppose to do, CARE for you pet... I would look elsewhere. Update: We took our pet to a vet in Texas and were informed that the heart worm treatment method they wanted to use here was outdated and dangerous.
