    Brooks Addiction OTS 9.5 womens

A couple of months ago I purchased a very expensive pair of walking shoes as was recommended by one of the employees there (very nice young man) I had recently been diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis and needed some shoes that would help me at work because I am in the field at work most days. After trying on several pair, the Brooks brand seem to work the best. It was also recommended that I invest in a pair of insoles to help since I am told I have flat feet. Well I tried these shoes and with or without the insoles, they make my foot hurt even more. Today I decided to give them one more try and absolutely No Success. While wearing these today in the field, my back began to hurt and my foot as well. When I got back to my office and switched to my Skechers work shoes, my foot feels 100 times better. Its a little upsetting because I dont think I can return them since its been a couple of months. So Im just out of almost $200 for a pair of shoes that are doing nothing for my foot/feet. I have purchased other shoes at this company that were not for work and I love them so I dont want to give a bad review because I have had a good experience with The Walk Shop. But these here are of no support to me at all!!! A waste of hard earned money this time!!!

Well, well, well...a response to a review written 9mos ago -- a review that I stand by to this day. I believe the salesperson understood the concept of *durable* which is why these particular boots were chosen. The seams literally split within 6mos of purchase. Indeed, I should have taken them back, but the boots lived in another state; the salesperson was adamant -at the time- about their 14-day return policy; and I was utterly disgusted. On the plus side -- the box the boots came in was great -- it's lasted 3 years without a scratch!

This is the advertised shoe that I bought 30 days ago.

I used to love this store- started coming here in 2014 when I worked around the corner, and have been a more frequent visitor for the past 6 months when I moved to the East Bay. The staff is so helpful and attentive, and it is nice to find great quality shoes that actually fit (the staff know to measure your feet, give recommendations, etc.). So why am I giving this place one star? The ownership. I came in with shoes that were about a month old, that I have worn maybe 5 times total. I actually have two other pairs from this exact brand that I bought here and wore. However, these shoes are bright yellow. I bought them on a whim because they were cute. What a mistake. After the 5 wears, I noticed that the suede around the toe was peeling off. Also, I noticed that the shoes were actually too narrow for me, the other Rieker shoes fit better for some reason. So, I came into the store. Staff was helpful as usual- so helpful one gentleman called the owner on a Sunday (I am leaving abroad for a month) and asked if we could just do store credit or exchange the shoes. The owner refused, citing that the shoes were worn and nothing could be done. I try to be a proponent of small business, but this is one case that sucks. I paid over $100 for shoes I can't wear. If I were at Macy's or REI, they would have refunded me. It's not much, and my continued purchases show that I will be a loyal customer. Not here. The poor staff had their hands tied, and the owner refused to help me. Now I'm heading to Japan with a pair of unusable shoes. Oh well. You can't win them all, and these guys will never be winning my business again. I guess I'll just do what most of my millennial generation is doing- trying shoes on in store and buying them online.

I had the pleasure of meeting and receiving assistance from Brian. He is very knowledgeable and low key. For the first time, I had my feet scanned and he recommended the New Balance 960s. They fit great. They fit even better with insoles; Brian explained the benefits of swapping out insoles while traveling. Then I saw a cute pair of Dansko closed toe sandals. Tried those and they were perfect. And then I bought a Baggallini cross-body purse. Got a big discount on the purse, a discount for buying the insoles, and a great price on both pairs of shoes. This store has a small but purposeful selection. I really enjoyed my first visit and will be back!

Victoria is the best!…read more I went into Becks because I was looking for personalized support in choosing the right fit for my dream shoes, the Boston clogs. Birkenstock fitting is very different from any other shoe, and if this is your first pair, you definitely want some professional help. Prior to Becks, I went to some bigger stores, but I didn't get much assistance and was still unsure about the size I needed. I chose Becks because it gave me the impression of being a locally owned shop that really knows its business and can help with the fit. That impression turned out to be absolutely true. I was greeted by Victoria, who analyzed my feet thoroughly, noted the areas where I needed more support, and, since I was set on the shoes I wanted, helped me find the right size. When I came into the store, I was deciding between EU sizes 42 and 43, but the scanner showed that I was actually between 43 and 44. Victoria pointed out that the 44 fit me better based on the way I walk, and that's something I would never have figured out myself. If not for her, I would have ended up with the wrong size and years of potential discomfort. When I tried on the size Victoria suggested, I was surprised by how big the number seemed, but I immediately felt the difference in the fit. As another customer noted, Victoria really knows what she's doing. I was very pleased with the experience and will definitely come back for the next pair of shoes I have in mind for fall. In fact, we even got a pair for my partner, who was hesitant to try anything other than his Nike Dunks. Thanks to Victoria's recommendations, we were able to find a great fit for him too. Overall, it was a great experience. Support local!

I cannot say enough good things about LaFoot in Berkeley…read more My brother manages a grocery store and is on his feet all day. Recently he started having significant foot pain. As a nurse who has dealt with bone spurs and plantar fasciitis myself, I immediately told him he needed to address it -- both by resting and by investing in proper shoes. I've been trying to convince him to upgrade his footwear for years! I found LaFoot while scrolling Yelp. The name caught my attention, and when I read that it's owned by a physical therapist and staffed with students/residents in orthopedics and foot care, I knew this wasn't just a regular shoe store -- this was going to be different. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. Parking was easy (even on a busy day), and we were greeted by a tall, slender young man with glasses who introduced himself as a kinesiologist (I'm so sorry I didn't catch his name!). He was professional, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. He had my brother remove his shoes and socks, observed his gait by having him walk up and down the hallway, and even demonstrated how my brother's current shoes were too flexible by twisting them. Then he brought out a Brooks shoe and showed us the difference in structure -- it barely twisted at all. He explained why that stability matters. They measured his feet the old-school way with a sizing device to ensure a precise fit. They also noticed that my brother's feet turn slightly inward when he walks, which likely contributed to his pain. What I really appreciated was how they used a skeletal foot model with bands to visually demonstrate what was happening. For visual learners, this was incredibly helpful and made everything make sense. When my brother tried on the recommended shoes, he immediately said, "Oh my God, these make such a huge difference." That alone told me we were in the right place. The exact color he wanted wasn't in stock, but they ordered it and had it shipped to his home within a few days -- seamless process. Yes, the shoes were $154. But when you consider the amount of time he spends standing and walking, and the importance of preventing long-term foot issues, that is absolutely worth it. Your health and comfort are not the place to cut corners. The professionalism, the education, the attention to detail, and the way they truly listened -- both to my brother and to me -- really stood out. This isn't just a shoe store; it's an experience rooted in understanding foot health. We left feeling confident, informed, and genuinely impressed. Highly recommend.
