I was absolutely impressed by this place. I got a reservation beforehand and got a really nice couch. They are very relaxed despite being a busy place. They don't rush you, the drinks are strong, they have a decent food menu, desserts for after two drinks (if you're like me) - five stars. We came to have a drink for happy hour. I recommend making a reservation as this lounge is busy and has a moderate amount of seating. The atmosphere is trendy and cozy- nice chairs and sofas, beautiful decorations, candlelit tables, and live music. I ordered a Passion's Inferno, and it was a very flavourful and balanced drink. I like that they gave each table complimentary fries. I recommend this lounge if you are looking for a relaxed place to enjoy a drink. read more

The Wallace Lounge is a cozy bar and lounge located in the Wallace hotel in the ground floor. The space is sleek and intimate. We showed up during happy hour and enjoyed $13 drinks and complimentary fries. We also ordered a yummy cheese plate. I had the UWS sparks drink and a G&T, both drinks were great! 7pm is when the live music started which was lovely and not too loud. Service was generally attentive and available. They have a coat check should you need one. read more

Swanky UWS bar. Great, fun, loud, jazzy, music from Rich Townsend and The Night Train on Saturday nights. Definitely come for the music and drinks. The sliders and club sandwich weren't bad. I thought the club sandwich tasted fresh and I liked the crispy bacon. The shrimp cocktail was not what we expected. It was chopped and overdressed. It should be removed from the menu. The drinks were well balanced. I really liked the Oaxaca Negroni. The service was fairly attentive. Seating is weird. I don't know if has to do with fire codes or anything, but they were a little hostile about moving chairs and wanted 5 of us to share a sofa - 3 of us next to a canooddling couple. Yes, I'll go back, probably as just a twosome and sit further back. read more

I was warmly welcomed at the reception podium and escorted to my table. I was immediately calmed by the subdued lighting, the fireplace, and the elegant ambiance. The server appeared quickly, and she cheerfully took my order for a glass of Chablis (oops, sorry, no Chablis tonight) and Tuna Nori Tartare. The Italian wine -- my second choice -- was more than suitable. So far, a pleasant experience. The Nori arrived promptly, with four bite-size pieces beautifully presented on a small plate. I popped the first Nori into my mouth and ... OMG ... I'm hardly exaggerating when I say it's one of the worst things I've ever tasted! I hate to complain, and so I didn't. Instead, I wrapped the remaining pieces in a tissue and disposed of them in the restroom bin. I returned to my table and ordered the Truffle Potato Croquettes instead. Not amazing, but light years better than the tartare! At this point I nearly departed, but the jazz trio were setting up and I was interested in having a listen. I ordered a second glass of wine, the other Italian choice on the menu, which was quite lovely. The musicians launched into their first number at 7pm sharp and they were world class! Outstanding musicians. I mean, really outstanding! This more than made up for any culinary shortcomings earlier in the evening. All of this to say, I'd return to The Wallace for the music, but not for the food! :-) read more

Had a FABULOUS time at The Wallace Lounge. We had to wait ~30 minutes for a table, but it was very well worth the wait. Joshua (he's the best!) hooked it up, and gave us a great table. There was live jazz, and not only was the trio fantastic, but the acoustics were perfect! It was never too loud for my partner and I to have a conversation. I ordered two The Wallace Martinis and my partner got an Allagash beer. Our server was wonderful - kind, funny, and attentive. The drinks were also phenomenal - it was a strong martini, but not overly so. The Wallace is definitely a new favorite we will frequent! read more

We came here on Christmas Day and loved the atmosphere. It's an upscale, cozy lounge with a fireplace and you forget you're in UWS. The service was a bit odd, though, to say the least. There was plenty of seating available, but we were seated in an area with one bench sofa and two lounge chairs across from it and told to sit specifically with one of us at the end of the bench and the other on one of lounge chairs--because someone else was apparently coming to use the other side of the bench. Even with the two of us sitting next to each other on the bench, there was plenty of space for someone else to sit on the other end. During the hour or so that we were there, no one else even came to sit in the area. On top of the seating, we were there for happy hour, but were never even offered fries. And 5 min before happy hour ended, the servers came around all the tables to remove the happy hour menu, without even asking for additional orders. The intimate setting would make for a lovely date night (esp. with live music which they didn't have last night), but I would recommend managing expectations on the service... read more

Classy UWS lounge with excellent live jazz. Beautiful dark decor. Made a reservation for 7:30 on a Saturday and it was completely full at that time. By 9, a lot of tables had cleared but the band continued and was amazing. I started with the Wallace Tanquaray martini. Had to special order olives???? The server said they don't change their drink recipes but she would do olives on the side. Strangest thing I've ever heard and I order gin martinis often. Then had a nice Chablis. Salmon tartare and wagyu sliders with exceptional fries. Promoted as small plates and they were...still very tasty. A big pillar blocked us from seeing much of the piano and musicians. But we could hear them just fine. A nice evening out for two friends doing a weekend in UWS. read more

Amazing space with modern and classic finishes blended throughout. The design of the menu and the architecture throughout the space all blended in, with the vertical line theme. The space itself is very cozy, and the fireplaces, real burning ones, really add a warmth to the atmosphere, and if you like the fire, it is great during your stay. The music is great, and is no additional cost, which is also great. You also have plenty of space to enjoy yourself, no need to touch elbows with people. The drinks I was hoping for more. They are good, but nothing I would go out of my way to get. Wish they were a bit more refined or complex. But they are just classic. I guess the space and vibes are the show anyway. read more

What do you do when you don't eat dinner but still want a place to spend a couple of hours? This is it and it's perfect. As you walk in, the dimly lit atmosphere accented with small candles, plush chairs and a roped off entrance immediately sets the mood of this lounge. The grand piano in the corner is perfect. Various jazz renditions were played all evening, not too loud either, one could still have a conversation. The food was amazingly delicious. Salmon tar tar, pistachio cheesecake were perfection. Food is not a side note, it's at the center of the experience. The drinks were amazing, not strong but delicious and with the nice effect of the alcohol youd expect. Wrap this up in a bow of service which was extremely friendly, polite and fast, and you got a spot to remember. read more

Excellent addition to the UWS!! Inside the Wallace Hotel is this beautiful lounge. Well laid out and quite a menu. We only went for drinks so can't speak to the food. The drinks are pricey (fine, get it) however, the martini glasses are on the smaller side and we're not filled to the rim. $18...please fill it to the top. Had to deduct a star for that and also not having Tito's?! Ugh. Service also was just okay. Hostess was lovely but servers weren't super friendly. Live music by Elsie. Perfect to have the ability to Venmo her. She was wonderful!!! read more

My fiance and I came here after making a reservation on the Resy App on a brisk Friday. We were immediately seated. The vibe is spectacular! UWS definitely needed an upscale cocktail bar and this place is it. There is live jazz and piano with a singer that really set the mood. We were seated in one of the comfy chair sets which was a lot of fun. There was also a fireplace that was more decorative but also served to bring more warmth to the place. We perused the snack menu and decided on just drinks to save our appetite for dinner. I ordered the grapefruit mocktail and my fiance the negroni-esque drink they had on the menu. Note, the mocktail was off menu and needed to be asked for. I would love to see more mocktail beverages served at bars and I think this place could do a really lovely and creative job with a mocktail list. My fiance's drink was delicious and he was very happy. Reservation was easy to make the day before but I'd imagine it will become very popular once the word is out. Will be back! read more

What a wonderful piano bar! I came here with a fried as per their suggestion, and really enjoyed it. The host was really kind and welcoming to me. At first there was only standing room by the bar, but later on he got us a great seat by the piano. The bar server brought us out some roasted nuts while we had our $35 caviar dirty goose martinis. They were delicious! The caviar is served on mother of pearl spoons and dipped into the martini. The caviar didn't overpower the drink, and the drink didn't bleed into the taste of the caviar. It was exceptionally dirty though, so a bit salty at the end. We got an order of fries and sat on a velvet sofa in the lounge. Amazing ambiance with wood paneling and wallpaper. Cute and swanky and I loved all the songs that the pianist played. A great place for a relaxing night with drinks. read more

Came with friends on Friday for happy hour -- most cocktails are discounted plus a basket a fries per table free. Staff is high-spirited and has a great sense of humor. The lighting is very sensual and great for a first date, especially given that they host live music almost nightly. I came here to see the Matt Baker Trio on a Friday night. I got there during happy hour and had to make a reservation. I have to say the ambience in this place is 10 out of 10. The staff was courteous and nice. The ambience of the room was wonderful. The drinks were elegant and the happy hour was fantastic. It was actually by mistake that I spent longer than I had intended to at the table, but they were so so gracious. I truly appreciate that being a person in hospitality and once the band came on, it was wonderful sound and such a great vibe I would go back at any time and highly recommended it. I was so looking forward to having a classy local bar to enjoy live jazz and smooth cocktails, but the Wallace Lounge really missed the mark. The jazz trio was incredible, but we could barely hear them over the raucous noise of the crowd. It was relentless. In fact, I'm not sure why they bother to have live jazz at all. The patrons seemed to have no interest in listening to it and the management does nothing to stop their loud, boorish conversations from disrupting the performance for those who do. If you invite skilled musicians to perform, you need to cultivate an environment in which they are treated with respect. It was a very confused vibe and the Wallace needs to attract the kind of clientele that matches the elegance of the space and the music. read more

This is the second time staying at this hotel and it's the bomb. Beautifully remodeled. I can't believe how crowded the piano lounge has gotten since we stayed here last November. Oh so fabulous on the Upper Westside of Manhatten- you know, the hood that makes the rest of Manhatten bearable! This is a chic & swanky lounge that makes fabulous cocktails, appetizers and desserts. We hosted a bridal party of 12 and they provided flawless service to us (in a semi-circular nook just far enough away from the band to have conversations). A truly lovely evening. It was so nice to hear beautiful live music accompanied by delicious nibbles and cocktails. We made a reservation a week in advance, which it seemed was needed by the buzz. The only bad note was the hostess as we were receiving our food stopped by the table to "remind" us that they needed the table back in an hour. This place is a GEM! Everything about it is fantastic - the people who work there are delightful, the pinball games (which I frequent), the food (the fries!!) and the patrons (awesome). The Deep Eddy's lime and soda is a game changer. I can't recommend it enough. Harlem Public, next door, is also awesome. They're owned by same people. Make sure you go and thank me later! read more

Who is managing this place?! I am a long time New Yorker who frequents similarly appointed bars (the Carlyle, Monkey Bar, Bar Centrale). I am also a long time UWS-er. I was so looking forward to the Wallace Lounge opening in the neighborhood, but the way this place is being managed is a disappointment every time. It's a beautiful bar with good talent playing, but it's always underpopulated so the energy is dampened and yet the host/hostess is consistently rude at the check in station and limits the clientele. Feels extremely amateur posing as a "high end" spot. I fear they will run themselves out of business with such poor word of mouth before long. So hoping someone comes in to fix soon! read more

The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home. But don't sleep on the MUSIC series which features some of NYC's best performers in jazz, cabaret and more! This place is superb and may soon be the West Side's answer to Cafe Carlyle. The place was packed on Friday evening and we were lucky to get a table near the stage where we could watch and listen to Izze, the Wallace Lounge's superb young jazz singer, and her talented accompanist. The atmosphere is elegant, the decor beautiful, and the food and drink offerings excellent. The Wallace Lounge is an awesome new addition to the West Side, and we hope to be back soon. read more
