We came to have a drink for happy hour. I recommend making a reservation as this lounge is busy and has a moderate amount of seating. The atmosphere is trendy and cozy- nice chairs and sofas, beautiful decorations, candlelit tables, and live music. I ordered a Passion's Inferno, and it was a very flavourful and balanced drink. I like that they gave each table complimentary fries. I recommend this lounge if you are looking for a relaxed place to enjoy a drink.

Swanky UWS bar. Great, fun, loud, jazzy, music from Rich Townsend and The Night Train on Saturday nights. Definitely come for the music and drinks. The sliders and club sandwich weren't bad. I thought the club sandwich tasted fresh and I liked the crispy bacon. The shrimp cocktail was not what we expected. It was chopped and overdressed. It should be removed from the menu. The drinks were well balanced. I really liked the Oaxaca Negroni. The service was fairly attentive. Seating is weird. I don't know if has to do with fire codes or anything, but they were a little hostile about moving chairs and wanted 5 of us to share a sofa - 3 of us next to a canooddling couple. Yes, I'll go back, probably as just a twosome and sit further back.

Had a FABULOUS time at The Wallace Lounge. We had to wait ~30 minutes for a table, but it was very well worth the wait. Joshua (he's the best!) hooked it up, and gave us a great table. There was live jazz, and not only was the trio fantastic, but the acoustics were perfect! It was never too loud for my partner and I to have a conversation. I ordered two The Wallace Martinis and my partner got an Allagash beer. Our server was wonderful - kind, funny, and attentive. The drinks were also phenomenal - it was a strong martini, but not overly so. The Wallace is definitely a new favorite we will frequent!

Classy UWS lounge with excellent live jazz. Beautiful dark decor. Made a reservation for 7:30 on a Saturday and it was completely full at that time. By 9, a lot of tables had cleared but the band continued and was amazing. I started with the Wallace Tanquaray martini. Had to special order olives???? The server said they don't change their drink recipes but she would do olives on the side. Strangest thing I've ever heard and I order gin martinis often. Then had a nice Chablis. Salmon tartare and wagyu sliders with exceptional fries. Promoted as small plates and they were...still very tasty. A big pillar blocked us from seeing much of the piano and musicians. But we could hear them just fine. A nice evening out for two friends doing a weekend in UWS.

What do you do when you don't eat dinner but still want a place to spend a couple of hours? This is it and it's perfect. As you walk in, the dimly lit atmosphere accented with small candles, plush chairs and a roped off entrance immediately sets the mood of this lounge. The grand piano in the corner is perfect. Various jazz renditions were played all evening, not too loud either, one could still have a conversation. The food was amazingly delicious. Salmon tar tar, pistachio cheesecake were perfection. Food is not a side note, it's at the center of the experience. The drinks were amazing, not strong but delicious and with the nice effect of the alcohol youd expect. Wrap this up in a bow of service which was extremely friendly, polite and fast, and you got a spot to remember.

Excellent addition to the UWS!! Inside the Wallace Hotel is this beautiful lounge. Well laid out and quite a menu. We only went for drinks so can't speak to the food. The drinks are pricey (fine, get it) however, the martini glasses are on the smaller side and we're not filled to the rim. $18...please fill it to the top. Had to deduct a star for that and also not having Tito's?! Ugh. Service also was just okay. Hostess was lovely but servers weren't super friendly. Live music by Elsie. Perfect to have the ability to Venmo her. She was wonderful!!!

What a wonderful piano bar! I came here with a fried as per their suggestion, and really enjoyed it. The host was really kind and welcoming to me. At first there was only standing room by the bar, but later on he got us a great seat by the piano. The bar server brought us out some roasted nuts while we had our $35 caviar dirty goose martinis. They were delicious! The caviar is served on mother of pearl spoons and dipped into the martini. The caviar didn't overpower the drink, and the drink didn't bleed into the taste of the caviar. It was exceptionally dirty though, so a bit salty at the end. We got an order of fries and sat on a velvet sofa in the lounge. Amazing ambiance with wood paneling and wallpaper. Cute and swanky and I loved all the songs that the pianist played. A great place for a relaxing night with drinks.

We stopped by for cocktails & couple of bites. The cocktails were good, nothing exceptional. The bites exceeded expectations - small but delicious morsels of flavor and freshness. Service was excellent and atmosphere nicely dimmed with wonderful background of piano playing. Great addition to the neighborhood for a more elegant place to meet a date or friend.

My empty water glass which has been sitting empty for over 20 minutes!

How could I not love a place with the name, Scarlet Lounge?…read more It takes a lot to get me to venture to this part of town and I honestly cannot remember the last time I had a night out on the Upper West Side, but Scarlet has been on my list since I saw owner, Michael Imperioli's announcing the opening on Instagram. I found myself in the area on recent Friday evening and decided to meet up with two friends here. I was smitten at first sight of the beautifully-appointed room, with seductive red drapery and gold accents. All I wanted to do was curl up on one of the velvet chairs and spend my entire evening captivated by imagined past lives of this space... Dorothy Parker holding court here with her Vicious Circle, sipping on Gibsons and martinis. You're going to have a glorious time. We were welcomed by a dashing gentleman at the door who kindly found us seating in the sultry little nook by the piano. Our server never left us wanting for anything and believe me, we wanted it all. Cocktail names are well-priced, especially for Manhattan. I kept to a decent bubbly and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my time here.

ONE BARTENDER FOR THE ENTIRE BAR -- READ BEFORE YOU GO:…read more I've never felt more gaslit by positive reviews in my life. The people calling this place "amazing" are either Sopranos fans, personally connected to management, or grading on an unbelievably generous curve. I have absolutely nothing to gain from distorting my experience. And judging by reviews like Benny R's below, I'm clearly not the only one saying this: if you go to The Scarlet, expect to wait forever, get ignored, and leave frustrated. And the worst part? It's not even a one-off bad night. I've been to The Scarlet multiple times, and every single visit has been the exact same mess: one bartender trying to run the entire place alone while customers sit around waiting endlessly for service. Last night (May 20), there were around 20-25 people in the bar between the tables and bar seats, and a single bartender was expected to do everything: make drinks, take orders, deliver cocktails to tables, clear space at the bar, all of it. Unsurprisingly, service moved at a glacial pace. My date and I were seated when we arrived and after waiting 30 minutes without anyone coming over, I finally had to walk up to the bar and order my own drink. It was deeply uncomfortable and unprofessional. Management charging $25 per cocktail while refusing to properly staff the place is ridiculous. If you're going to price drinks like a luxury lounge, at least operate like one. MEMO TO MANAGEMENT - stop being cheap and hire another bartender. Your customers are paying enough to deserve basic service.

Paper plates, plastic cutlery and pita chips warmed and served in the bags they came in. 2. Service - non-existent. No staff members acknowledge your arrival. You either have to wave madly or go to the bar and ask for a drink. The staff is always closing early with the staff excuse that "we are not busy" yet guests are routinely turned away. The staff is not happy and begrudge being there. DO NOT believe in the hours posted on the website. There is a built-in clientele but the staff can't wait to close it down. I don't know what is wrong with management but they have lost the plot. 3. Ambience - The space could be so much better than it is. The lighting is okay but the seating in the bar area is not appropriate. The adjoining cafe has a better feeling. Ambience has a lot to do with making guests feel welcome - this staff doesn't understand the meaning of hospitality but they should not be blamed. It is clear they have no training and are not held to any standard. If you want to go to a great space, go to the Wallace Hotel around the corner (I am NOT affiliated with them... have just gone there many times). It is so sad to see a place with such potential be so poorly run, especially as they have such little competition. The Arthouse Bar has the potential to be THE leading cocktail/music/late-night bar on the Upper West Side.

Usually that would mean that service is faster as the staff are walking out of the kitchen, but the service here was unbearably slow. We had to crane our heads to get our orders taken, to find someone to give us our bill, and to ask about our order. We ordered a drink (the second drink was sold out and my friend was uninterested in other options) and two appetizers and the drink came first, followed by a twenty minute wait for calamari. The calamari was probably the thinnest squid in the ocean and looked like shoestring fries, but the sauce it came in was delicious. There were approximately three zucchini sticks and four peppers in the calamari, which is on par with many restaurants, but less bang for your buck. It eventually became clear after another 10 min wait that our truffle fries were nowhere to be seen, and since we had to leave for our dinner reservation soon we struggled to flag a server, who then told us that they never put in our fries order. We obviously did not ask them to start making it for us, instead asking for the bill and then leaving. I wish I liked this place more than I did, but the service and staff here were so slow and hard to flag down it felt like we spent our entire meal looking around.

We had an absolute blast from the moment we stepped inside. The whole experience--from the warm welcome at the door to the high-energy live music--was 10/10. The Food Experience: Truly Next Level The food here isn't just "bar snacks"--it's a full-on culinary experience. We tried several dishes and honestly, every single one was a hit: * Grandma's Sunday Sauce: This was the star of the show. It's pure comfort in a bowl and tastes like it's been simmering for days. * The Bacon: You can't go wrong here. It's perfectly prepared, smoky, and dangerously addictive. * The Burrata: So fresh and creamy--the perfect way to start the meal. * Crispy Shrimp: These had the perfect crunch and were packed with flavor. The Vibes & Service The host set the tone right away with a great welcome, and the service throughout the night was seamless. It's rare to find a spot that balances a sophisticated "speakeasy" atmosphere with such friendly, attentive staff. And of course, the music! The live band was electric and kept the energy high all night long. The "Roaring 20s" vibe is so well-done--it feels intimate but exciting at the same time. Final Verdict I would definitely suggest Prohibition to everyone! Whether you're a local or just visiting the city, this is the spot for great food, amazing service, and a vibe you won't find anywhere else. We'll definitely be back for more!
