Poor food, poor service, overall a bad experience.
I went to Craft & Grill with a group of colleagues from work, maybe 10 of us in total. It was a quiet evening; aside from a poker tournament and a couple of people at the bar we were the only people in there and were the only people eating.
After taking 40 minutes to receive my drink (a pint of Coke - apparently the mixer needed changing...), we ordered our food. The server read through the orders taken and had it spot on - success! 10 minutes later we were told they only had enough ingredients for one portion of Mac & Cheese, so I changed my order. Then our starters started coming out...
The waitress bringing the food out had no idea what she was serving, she even admitted to knowing she was serving chicken but didn't know what type (we had wings and strips coming as part of the tables starters). The food was well presented but bland and in some cases cold.
When it came to the mains, the waitress was bringing out once again with no clue what she was serving. The fries/chips/sweet potato fries were all on the wrong plates, it was an absolute shambles. It got to the point where she turned to the bar staff and said she didn't want to carry on as the orders were all over the place. Still, the food came out... apart from one meal - a rack of ribs - which was totally forgotten about. Not to worry, they'll cook one up for us in 5 minutes. Once again, bland food of which a lot was left on peoples plates.
The one saving grace for Craft & Grill is they recognised the mess they made of our meal; they ended up taking 50% off our bill in the end which was extremely generous. It's such a shame because the venue itself is very well presented and welcoming, if they could just sort the service and food out it would be a great place to go. read more
