I have been going there for a while and sometimes the dogs don't get a great cut, and it is never consistent because I believe they have new people doing the cuts. However, I have not complained about it because I know the hair will grow back. Today I was not able to pick them up right away, and they charged me a $50 fee, which I understand there's a fee after a certain time. However, the fee amount is very unreasonable. Also, I was not informed that I would be charged that fee after a certain time or even how much that fee would be. I went ahead and paid it, but I was very disappointed about this and will just stop taking my two pups there. read more

I have been coming here for years now and the service has just gotten worse and worse. I went in with a very very descriptive cut of what I wanted-meaning I don't want a round teddy bear face and that's exactly what they did on top of all the photos attached! Not happy at all. Update your website! Drove way out of my way to come here for the self service dog wash and apparently it's been gone for months.

Finally we have "dog wash" on the north side. Very reasonably priced. Your dog is charged by the pound. Everyone is very nice, and they can groom your dog or you can give bathe your dog yourself. Love it. Only draw back is the dog shampoo they supply is pretty diluted so I usually bring my own. Other than that they supply aprons so you can stay dry, plenty of towels, they even have a ramp so your dog can walk up into the doggy tub. How cool is that? Love it, no more bathing my dog in my bathtub and waking up with a backache . read more

Took my miniature schnauzer here for a full bath, haircut, and nail trim. A little overpriced ($60 + tip) but overall I had a great experience and my dog came back looking as handsome as ever. I'm not sure what shampoo and conditioner they used but he smelled great and was soooo soft. My groomer April paid close attention to detail and did a great job. My two baby maltipoo puppies were in dire need of a haircut. We live right near the Wash Dawg and I pass it all the time, so it was my first call. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed! The groomer was very sweet to the puppies and took a bit of time to get to know them before she took them back to the grooming area. One of the owners was working at the front desk, and she told me that they would take it very slow with my pups because this was their first grooming experience ever and that the first time sets the tone for future grooming experiences. I was thankful they were willing to take extra time! My girl puppy was yelping (even though she wasn't even the puppy being groomed at the time!), so the owner took her out of the kennel and played with her to make her feel more at ease. It took about an hour an a half for them to finish, and I was so pleasantly surprised when I piked them up! They looked so adorable -- and I could tell that the staff had been good to them because they were more interested in playing than my arrival! The owner even helped me put the puppies in the car! I love to support local and family-owned businesses - and this fits the bill! Wash Dawg is owned by a mother and her two daughters. Such a great story! read more

I love this place!!! I went and used the self-service wash. Perfect way to get your dog clean and not have to worry about cleaning up the mess in your bathroom or clogging your drains with dog hair. I brought my muddied up Border Collie in after a fun day at the dog park to test the waters with this place. I loved it! The bathing basin and shower hose are very convenient. You can bring your own shampoo/conditioner products, but The Wash Dawg also has items for you to use at no additional cost, including ear cleaner. They also have compressed air to blow-dry your dog without heat so you don't run the risk of the burning your dog's skin. The only cons: There are dogs in holding kennels for the dog grooming appointments that The Dawg Wash provides; these are right across from the self-service wash. So, sometimes it gets loud. The place is kind of small; there are 3 dog wash basins for use. The staff is really nice. Make sure you have proof of shots and whatnot for your dog, obviously. It seems like the staff have a good relationship with the customers and pets because I can hear the staff talking to the animals in the back as if the dogs had been here before :) I will definitely use this self-service dog wash again. I loved it so much with my Border Collie, I took my German Shepherd back that same day!!! Saves money, time, and cleanup! read more

I've been a customer for 2-3 years and have been extremely satisfied. During this time I've only had two different groomers, and with three poodles this is important because I have special requests. The first groomer left to visit Australia for a year, not another groomer. My dogs are happy and eager to walk into the shop. Erica and I review what I'm looking for and in two hours my dogs are ready to be picked up. And my dogs have never gotten razor burn at the Wash Dawg. One time I tried to make an appointment at the last minute and unfortunately had to take my pups to a different groomer. One of my poodles had razor burn on both sides of his face, and the dogs were not groomed in the style requested. And I paid $50 more for the services, and many were a la carte. No wonder that shop had an opening for three dogs on a Saturday. My dogs are groomed every four weeks. If you have three dogs there is a quantity discount. Yay! read more

I can go two ways on my rating. They did a good job on his wash, cut, & everything in between. I was satisfied with their work. But dog did have 2 cuts on him after. I was not notified when I picked him up, however I did notice a change of behavior. He was very anxious and scared. He didn't even want to move out of his bed when we got home. I saw a small, but deep laceration on his elbow & a nick/scrape on his "male" parts (his testicles). The wash dawg is a super mellow cool spot to take your dog for a bath if you'd like to do it yourself and not get your dogs hair everywhere in your bathtub at home. I took my sharpei here and he did great they checked his vet records (I have an electronic record of his) and they showed me around and let me do my thing. It was super fast and didn't break my back because the bathtubs are groomer style therefore they are raised and lock your dog in. I used my own shampoo and conditioner (pet head and furminator) for my dog since he has skin allergies, but I did see they had the option to use their stuff if needed. I also used their industrial hair dryer and my doggo dried up in no time. All in all a great experience, quick easy cheap and non stressful read more

LOVE LOVE. After taking Hank the big dog to a mud puddle filled Hardberger Park, we checked out the Wash Dawg on the recommendation of a fellow pet owner that we were chatting up at the park. We utilized the self service dog wash. We were provided with a variety of shampoos and brushes. There were aprons, towels and a doggy dryer all available for our use. The place looks nice and is well cared for. The customer service was awesome. They have raised tubs with high sides so Hank Dog doesn't get to soak us with his doggy shakes. Also, if you do 5 dog washes, you get the 6th for free! YAY! read more

I really like that they took in my dog last minute since we just moved to SA. I was told it would be in an hour and sure enough it didn't take a long time to get him back. When I went to pick him up, my pup looked absolutely great (he gets the standard schnauzer cut) but when we got home and I actually got to see him I noticed there were a few places that were looked over. His right eyebrow was much longer than his left, and he still had patches of long hair on his back. I am big on attention to detail, what made it worse was that my friend was also able to notice the areas that needed more trimming. Glad he didn't spend a long time at the groomer (definitely a plus!), but the amount of money that I paid was a little too much. read more

My dog hates going to the typical groomers like Petco where you drop off your dog and pick him up hours later. But he was very comfortable st the wash dog. He was happy and didn't seem anxious at all. The staff are friendly and the rates are reasonable. read more

I was able to make a last minute appointment which was great. My dog received a descent haircut. They have option of washing dogs in their big sinks. I don't want to be negative but it sounded like one of the groomers was frustrated that a dog would not stop pulling away. Maybe no biggie but if that was my dog I wouldn't have been happy. read more

I should have written a review the first time. The first time we took Emily to The Wash Dawg we were thrilled. She smelled and felt great. A chocolate lab is prone to allergies and dry skin and the oatmeal bath along with the nail trim could not have been better. 5 star. Now, fast forward a couple of months to last weekend. It may have been because they were completely booked up and they squeezed herin for us at last minute. She clearly was not handled like she was the first time. She didn't feel or smell the same, in fact she kind of smelled funky. She continued to scratch. Upon closer evaluation she had flakes ( dry skin) and I ended up washing her myself with a dandruff shampoo and conditioner. The constant scratching has stopped, almost immediately. I understand we all have bad days, but we may look around for a new groomer. read more

My sweet mini schnoodle was in desperate need of a haircut and bath. They were able to see him that same day, and Eve gave him the BEST haircut!! I can't help but look at him in awe...he's never looked so cool! I would recommend this place to everyone! Very clean, very professional, and the prices aren't bad at all. Fantastic! However, one slight negative. He had a little nick on his tummy. This is the greatest thing ever for apartment owners like myself, especially those with large breed dogs. The wash dawg gives you everything you need: shampoo, conditioner, ear cleaning solution, brushes, aprons, a no-heat hair dryer with low and high settings, and even dog treats to make your pooch more at home. It cost me $32 to bathe my beagle and cattle dog, and because you do self serve, you don't even have to tip! Of course, they can also do the grooming for you if you have a dog that needs it. For my breeds though, this is perfect! I only wish they were open later so we could go after work, but they are open on Sundays which works for me. The greatest part is that I don't get all that wet dog hair in MY bathtub, which is worth a lot to me. You have to try it out, I would recommend it to anyone! read more
