I love the brick exterior, full glass wall facing 5th St, and the old-fashioned structure. There is no drive-thru, which means everyone has to go in to order. This creates a friendly, small-town atmosphere that is much more social than your average franchise coffee stop. The service was friendly and prompt, and the drink was up to expectations. Found this little oasis of a Coffee Shop while in Washington on our 58th Wedding Anniversary. You NEVER get too old to enjoy a coffee shop!! First we were impressed by the great service and the upbeat attitudes the Barista's all had. So very friendly and patient as we made our choices. We choose to go to the place twice while in town, so we had an early light dinner, which was absolutely delicious, and then of course our Fru-Fru coffees. We loved the ambiance of the coffee shop as well. We are recommending it to our young and old friends and will visit again soon. read more

I loved this place! A very good find. The interior was extremely spacious with room to spread out and find a comfortable table to sit a while. There are a variety of seating options, which were very welcoming. Each table had a different unique set of novelty salt and pepper shakers. Our drinks were very good and they have some unique flavors. I had never heard of river fog, it's like a London fog, but with added lavender flavor as well. I didn't try it this time because I wanted a classic, but I think I may try it someday if I ever go back. The Biscuit Stack was an amazing creation and I'm so glad I got it. It is basically biscuits and gravy but with cheddar cheese and sausage patties on it too. It came out steaming hot and very tasty. I very much enjoyed my time and food here! read more

What is the deal with Washington MO and no masks? No wonder MO is exploding in cases. Employees with no masks, patrons with no masks. Bar chairs are still spaced close together. I heart coffee. I'm glad it's culturally accepted and generally healthy because I'd have to check myself into rehab otherwise. The Washington Coffee Shop was an afternoon pick-me-up as we rode bikes into Washington from the Katy Trail. It's just up the hill from the river, and got a nice local coffee shop vibe overall. I got my typical order of black coffee and it was fair. That could be the fact that it was the middle of the afternoon and not quite as vibrant as it would be in the morning, who knows. Overall I dug the town of Washington, and having a traditional coffee shop like this helped add to it. read more

I love exploring for and discovering quaint coffee shops. This gem is just up from the riverfront and I hope a short walk to the Amtrak station. The staff here are so friendly and accommodating. Good espresso, you should ask how they roast it (it's interesting)! I am a white chocolate kinda gal but unfortunately theirs just isn't very good, something about it tastes off. I had ordered a drink for myself and a drink for my friend. my friend said her latte had hardly any milk in it so it was too strong. i had the same issue with mine. so i politely asked her to add some oat milk to my friends and asked if mine could be remade because it did not taste good. She remade mine and didn't charge me. which i thought was kind at first but when she handed me the drink she said "okay here's your drink. i didn't charge you but i can't keep remaking drinks. so."...mind you that was the first one she remade for me. saying that ruined the kindness of not making me pay for her to make it right after it tasting awful the first time. she has also told me that i couldn't have the water bottle that was in my backpack for college. even though i ordered coffee....i'll just go to undergrounds instead. read more

Ordered their smallest iced latte (16oz, I believe) and was left relatively satisfied. Any barista knows an iced latte is one of the easier quests to complete, so I use it as my control group/standard when taste testing coffee houses. No sweetness to mask the espresso flavor, no having to worry about steamers maybe not quite getting that perfect foam. Just easy, breezy, beautiful iced lattes. The espresso is pulled to order, as it should be, and the flavor--though not my personal favorite--is bold. The Washington Coffee Shop leaves me hopeful and happy. read more

This is a really nice, locally owned coffee shop. It's a great place to meet up with friends or read a book. Their decor is so cute, and it feels very welcoming. They also house a small cookie shop with delicious looking baked goods. I'm taking one star off because it's a bit noisy inside, if you are trying to get work done-the good news though is the Washington library is across the street so you can go there if you need silence! read more
