I'm happy I scooted on in. Their LTOs always seem to be in a frappe format, which is such a huge amount of sugar, it can't be an everyday thing. I wish there was a way to get it as an iced coffee. I almost always go for a red eye when I visit a coffee shop for the first time, but there are alot of appealing alternatives; I might have to try Maple Bourbon latte on a future visit. Being a major fan of breakfast food, I had to order the hearty Brake Shop burrito, packed with scrambled eggs, bacon, cripsy tater tots, and pico del gallo. It arrived quickly, hot, and even more filling and flavorful than I expected. Beyond that, Upshot offers an ample menu of other breakfast and lunch options; my wife ordered a Turkey Sando and custom-made iced vanilla latte with oatmilk. We don't get that many beautiful days in the midst of St. Louis winter; I'm glad I could spend one at Upshot's flagship cafe, and excited to see how their other locations compare.

The staff is another reason I keep coming back. They're always super friendly, and they usually remember you if you're a regular. They also love when I bring my dogs through the drive-thru, which always makes the experience even more fun. I really like this particular location because there's plenty of space for the drive-thru line to get long without completely taking over the parking lot. Some other Seven Brew locations can feel really small and compact, but that's not an issue here. There's usually music playing, fun polls on the board, and just an overall upbeat atmosphere. Instead, I headed over to the pastry case and immediately spotted a chocolate croissant. Chocolate croissants are a favorite in my family, so I knew I had to try one. I had the pleasure of talking with the woman working behind the counter, who turned out to be the owner. She told me she makes the croissants by hand every single day, and you can truly taste the care and effort she puts into them. What makes these croissants stand out is the chocolate distribution. Instead of getting one small section of chocolate that disappears after a couple of bites, the chocolate is spread throughout the entire croissant, making every bite just as good as the last. I bought one that day and immediately knew I needed to go back. That weekend, I returned and bought enough to share with my entire family--and everyone loved them! They have quickly become a family favorite. My daughter and I recently took a trip, and on our way to the airport, I made sure to stop by Meme's Cafe to pick up chocolate croissants for us to enjoy on the flight.
