I enjoy stopping in here for shampoo and conditioner bars. The products themselves are very good quality and last a good 4 months with washing my hair every other day. I also like their literal zero waste everything. It's a great place to go to get ideas on how to reduce waste and also fond reusable products that aren't always easily sourced. The price is a little high up front but when you think about how often you'll reuse items from the store it starts to make sense and ends up being cheaper in the long run. What a cute little shop with fantastic local treasures. There are so many things to look at and all sourced by local businesses. You can bring your own containers and they have several supplies on tap from laundry detergent to multipurpose cleaner to beauty products. I got a small jar of their face scrub and I am in love! They also sell Mountain Song teas which are life savers for GI symptoms and cold symptoms. The workers were so fun and friendly. Great surprise shop. This shop is new since my last visit to the Village. What a great idea and products. Bring your own containers and stock up on many household and personal products. There are also containers available for purchase if you forgot. The first product to catch my eye was the shampoo and conditioner bars. No bottles, no leaks. I picked up a conditioner bar to use on my next trip. No more worries about messes in the luggage. The other product I'm trying is the toilet cleaner. Drop the tab in, let it fizz and less scrubbing. And / or drop one in the tank. For regular use liquid items, you can purchase in bulk from the taps. Seriously, taps of laundry soap, hand cleaner, vinegar, hand sanitizer and more. Many of the products are locally sourced. The Pantry and Sage & Sittie were known names for me. The staff was very knowledgeable on all the products in the shop. She even offered different suggestions for the products. Great idea for less waste going to the landfills. Easy and lots of parking right behind the shop. read more

I am going to like patronizing this shop as I am allergic to most synthetic fragrances and use essential oils for "primping" They have eco friendly toiletries; toothpaste, shampoo, cleaning supplies and they also have glass bottles (you can also bring your own) for the bulk items. I live in LA and have never in my years of snowflake, privileged, tree hugging living seen a Refillery Station. What the devil is that you say? I said it too. Such a unique and useful shop to have here in Reno! The Waste Less Shop is a female-owned small business that supports sustainable living. Everything in their shop has the environment in mind and is designed for reusing and recycling. They have many natural products that I have never seen or heard of before. Some of their products include greeting cards that have seeds and can be planted after use, concentrate powder for cleaning solution that you just add hot water to, reusable stretchy bowl lids, soaps, non-paper paper towels, and even skin care and makeup. They have something for everyone! One of the main features of this shop is their draft refill bar where they have their 10 top selling bulk items on tap (think shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc). You can use their glass bottles to keep coming back here to refill your favorite products. They even sell some local products from other Reno businesses like Sierra Root Wellness including their teas and oxymels. One of my favorite things I saw in the shop was a basket where you can donate your old cloth face masks to be turned into blankets for the homeless. The Waste Less Shop just opened, but I can already tell they're going to be one of my favorite stores in Reno! Came to their grand opening and was blown away by the customer service and variety of products in their shop. I hate disposable plastics, but it can be so hard to make the change or understand the options available, but at The Waste Less Shop they have almost household cleaning item you can think of in a sustainable, eco-friendly format! Shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, toothpaste etc etc etc -- the list goes on. They have things individually for purchase, and also a giant on-tap refill bar of supplies that you can purchase by the oz. Bring in your own container or they have some pretty cute ones in the store as well! Every employee I interacted with, from owner to cashier, was super friendly and happy to explain anything or answer any questions. I even joked about if one of the taps dispensed wine, and would you believe it -- it's something they're exploring too! Yes please! I also loved that this business supports OTHER local businesses too -- they have items from the Nest, a local soap maker, a plant shop, and more, I believe. Manager was super rude and unwelcoming, super unprofessional. Heard her use curse words to customers (whom she seems to know well), which was very uncomfortable. Talks to her fellow associates poorly, she demands them around and makes them look dumb in front of employees. You can tell she lets her emotions get too much in the way. read more
