Tip: when you go an hour before closing you can get 3 pastries for £6 (normally £3 each). Loved the apple turnover. The doughnuts are made with a brioche bread and were tasty as well. This was at the location in Borough Market.

This review is solely based on the brownie I purchased from their stand at the Borough Market. Oh goodness gracious, it was such a delight. I shared a few bites with my fiancé but really wished I had more of it right now. I'm a fan of dark chocolate and I believe they used 72% cocoa for the brownies. Hands down one of the best brownies I've ever had. Only wish it was an edge piece because I (like many others) enjoy that crispy chewy crust. Crossing my fingers my fiancé wants to check out Borough market again tomorrow for lunch so we can get more sweet and savory eats!

Good bakery. I had a "Brionut" (Brioche + Donut I guess) with coffee ganache which I liked a lot although it wasn't cheap (GBP 3). Service is friendly and the place itself is quite cool.

I just read my scathing 3-star review of this place from 10 years ago. The fact that this place is…read morestill standing means they did something to improve. The hype, in my opinion, is still a bit overdone, but I have to say, the coffee has only gotten better over time, and it's not the worst place for people-watching if you manage to snag a seat. Their espresso is now perfectly balanced and blends well with your choice of cow, oat, or nut juice. Their pastry selection has also expanded, and now carries a modest artisanal spread, from Pistachio Financiers to sugar-coated brioche. Croissants also abound, and in the colder months, they carry Italian Panetone, which soaks up that coffee brilliantly. The space is still small, and during the busier hours, your only probable choice will be to stand at one of the back counters with your tiny spread. They still don't offer take-away cups, unless you're willing to shell out £5 for one of their reusable cups. The bright side: You get those £5 back if you return the cup. Being one of London's finer purveyors of coffee, they also sell pricey beans with a little something for every coffee lover to take home with them. If you happen to come during the Winter Holidays, try to snag one of their cozy seats in the corner of the shop beneath the window facing Borough Market; you won't be sorry.
