I'm up late watching an old Godzilla movie, and instead of walking away to get some more snacks, I actually sit through a string of terrible late night commercials - especially the ones about boy scouts being raped by den masters and priests and how they better sign up with such n' such attorneys if they want to preserve their rights to a class-action suit. THE SETUP But THIS time, I actually paid attention to the ZERO TECHNOLOGIES commercial and was convinced to buy a Water-Purifying Pitcher. THE DEETS * The 10-Cup Pitcher came with a filter and a water monitor to measure the level of detris in my tap water, all for about $40 with shipping. * I added in TWO (2) extra filters for another $30. * I got it to me in about 10 days * The Pitcher has a spigot at the bottom, so you can actually tap some water into your glass while it still may be filtering water just placed in the top part - the three sections (top water reservoir, filter chamber, filtered water) are sectioned off from each other. ZERO WATER WEBSITE It's kind of cool how the website has a indicator that lets you put in your zip code so you can have an estimate about the particulate levels of the tap water in your area. Here at Sacramento 95811, our particulate level is 191 according to their website. Not so good is level of 200. Pretty bad is a level of 400. As it turns out, when I go their monitor, I was surprised to find out that my neighborhood's tap level was only 079. Yeah, I know, at this point you could figure I probably didn't need the filtering system afterall. But I filtered my first pitcher of water and the monitor indicated all the way down to 000, so I'm actually not going to complain because if that's 79 less particulates out of my body, than I'm okay with that. THE FILTERS I can actually buy replacement filters at Target and WalMART I just found out, so I have options to avail myself of. Oh. And at the time I got the filters with my original order, I thought a filter would only last a month or so because of the particularization level of 191. But since it's only 079, a filter will probably last me 2-3 months now. THE LOWDOWN It works. It filters the water. Less impurities going into your body.
