DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. NEGATIVE STARS. This was was my first time going to them as I am new to the area. The threader was an older lady, don't know her name. I have semi permanent tinted brows so the outline of my shape is already there. And my eyebrows are very full. I clearly told the lady, JUST CLEAN UP KEEP THE EXISTING SHAPE. She said ok. During the threading I felt a lot of hair coming out, but thought it shouldn't be hard to follow the outline that is already there so I didn't think to stop and look. When I looked in the mirror at the end she went so far into the shading of the tint and my brows are now so freaking thin. I absolutely hate them. This is basic staying outside the box. When my eyebrows start to look like Andy Rooney's eyebrows (former CBS reporter), it is time to head to the salon. After a visit to Apsara, my brows are perfectly shaped and make me look more alert. Apsara is new to Cockeysville (there is one in Catonsville). It shares a wall with the India Palace restaurant (yummy) in the strip mall right on Cranbrook Road. It's a no frills place so don't expect glamorous day spa. It is equipped with one bench in the waiting/reception area and in the back there are 2 barber chairs for threading plus a private room for waxing. My expert threader was terrific. She whisked away hairs in a matter of minutes and was very pleasant. The prices are really good even if you don't have the Groupon. It is very inexpensive, just $8 to have your brows threaded. I have done waxing and tweezing for my eyebrows but after hearing satisfied reviews from my friends about eyebrow threading, I decided to do some searching for a good place near my area. I found out this salon also had a groupon deal for $12 for two threadings (it's originally $10 for one eyebrow threading). I only had to wait about 10 minutes since there were two people ahead of me. The service was fast and I am super satisfied with my first eyebrow threading experience! She cleaned them up and shaped them exactly to my liking and I will definitely be back. I'm not sure how many workers / technicians are there since the same lady that did my eyebrows also seemed to work the front desk. Last week I went here to have my eyebrows and face threaded and the technician recommended I come back for a facial. So today I returned and I couldn't be more pleased. Today's technician, Mittel, gave relaxing but very thorough facial. She removed blackheads and did microdermabrasion so now my skin is smooth, even and so clear. Mittel was very skilled, knowledgeable and explained every step of her process so I felt comfortable and at ease. This was my first real facial of this type but I really enjoyed the service. never never get eyebrows done by the Asian looking woman with glasses. I know the owner and one of the Indian girls that works there is great, Ive been going here for years for eyebrows etc, but the experience today makes me never want to return. if I do, it will for sure be a longer trip to wait for owner/fellow Indian girl to do my eyebrows. when a customer tells the worker (who is being paid to provide a service with some degree of skill) to "keep the eyebrows thick", it does not mean make them: 1. pencil thin, 2. not even match (right eyebrow thinner than left) and 3. lacking any semblance of shape. I could not be more pissed. my eyebrows have always had a sharp peak about 3/4 out from the nasal bridge gap, (not awkward looking, will attach photo), and looked like HAIR. now, they are not only ugly-curved, they look completely drawn on, as if I used a pencil/crayon to color eyebrows on my face for lack of hair. I've never used an eyebrow pencil/crayon in my life. this woman ruined my beautiful eyebrow shape and thickness. (I like them a little thicker as i feel if theyre too thin, I look mean. im simply not a fan of thin eyebrows.) so I get in the car, look at my face aghast at how bad they look and go back inside, hoping to talk to the nice Indian girl. I did, but she was sitting next to this idiot who did my eyebrows awfully. nice girl was willing to refund my money, but I'd still have to walk around like this, and wait for my brows to grow back so it wouldn't have helped much to get a refund, especially with an event to attend in 2 days. so the idiot goes, "what happened?" I said, "they're way too thin, I told you to keep them thick." she said, "all I did was clean them up." (uh no, because if thats all you did, i wouldnt be so mad!) nice indian girl asked what she did to them, idiot asks her "do they look bad?" nice girl says in hindi, "i didnt see them before you did them so i cant say." well, all i can say is, this girl either needs to master this art more adeptly, or find a new job. this is ridiculous. though my boyfriend said my brows look okay, maybe he was just trying to be nice? I'm fuming. what a horrible experience. never again. if you go, get them done by the nice Indian girl not the one that looks Non-Indian. sigh. this will teach me to never trust anyone else with my eyebrows. i should also add, i went at 6ish in the evening today, and there was one other customer there waiting when i got there. this was not a busy time. Had a Groupon for a Brazilian and went before a special night. The long corridor to where I had the waxing was kinda sketchy but the woman put me at ease. She was fast and efficient. My only complaint is that they have an "Egyptian" which is a step above a Brazilian. I have never heard of such a thing but I guess it is a way to charge a little more. Just left this place and I must say I am annoyed. I got there around 1pm, no one was at the front desk I heard noises in the back but I didn't know if that was next door or a worker, so I proceeded to wait.. 1:15pm rolled around and still nothing...I called the phone from inside a couple times thinking someone would run to it and I would finally be acknowledged... that didn't even work. 1:34pm a lady comes from the back and finally acknowledges me. She tells me it will be 15 more mins because she is still doing a wax, I told her I had already been waiting 30 mins so whats another 15.. 2:00pm rolls around and still nothing..I was on my hour lunch break mind you, so I just left a note saying bye and left. All I wanted was an underarm waxing, that takes like 5 mins. I'm definitely not coming back to this place, I saw a groupon this morning and I was tempted to purchase but I said let me go experience this place first before I spend my money.. Okay so firstly I'd like to say that this establishment really does quality eyebrow threading. If it was based on just that I would give 5 stars all the way. I think the problem (& the reason why they have lower stars) is that they are understaffed. I think in total there is probably 2 maybe 3 estheticians in the establishment all together so when it gets busy, you could be waiting a lot longer for a service. A lot of that comes with the fact too that there is probably not a lot of volume of people getting a lot of services there so they can only afford to pay that many estheticians, so it's almost a cycle. Not enough people, not enough money to pay service providers. But if there's too much volume of people at once, the establishment can't accommodate. So I suggest two tips because the ladies who do work there do a great job. I've been going here for almost a year now and never had a problem. 1. Do not go at busy times. Go during odd times of the day so that you can get in and out quickly. I usually stop in around 3:00-4:00. 2. Be nice to the ladies that work there. I never mess with people who mess with my eyebrows. read more

I really like and appreciate this place. Just go in knowing that it is not going to be a fancy spa, and that it is great for getting your business taken care of. I started going here by snatching a groupon and have been going there for a few months now for brazillian wax and eyebrow threading. For the eyebrows, no need to make an appointment, as you can just walk in and it is always pretty quick. And they do a great job! It is also cheaper than most other places that I have been by a few dollars. For the brazillian wax, you should call ahead to get an appointment. But it is not like many of the other spas that offer groupions and you can't get an appointment for weeks. I've been able to call and get an appointment same day every time I tried (I think one time it was even on a weekend). And, the best part is that it is the best brazillian I have ever had! We all know that waxings are never pleasant, but they use the soft wax so it hurts less. I think there are 2 women that work there most days, and both are good and their skills cause as little pain as I've ever experienced. And again- they are very quick. The groupon deals are great, but even without them I would recommend Apsara for eyebrows and brazillians. And no- I don't work here but just really greatly that much! I bought a groupon for 4 microdermabrasions, and Im glad it was on sale. When i came here the first time, one of the older ladies was anything but attentive.. She looked grumpy and did not seem like she wanted to get my treatment done.. Anyhow, when the younger girl did my treatment it took her, I'd say, less than 15 minutes.. Was a little uncomfortable to be in the little waxing room that was brightly lit with halogens and NO music whatsoever, just the sound of the waxing strips being ripped! Ugh. However, I must say that Krupa was faster, made me feel more at ease and got every single hair!!! I got face wax done from this place. The service was OK. Charges are really high in comparison to other places for similar and better services. Also, they charge 1$ for credit card payments for any amount . Does not matter less or more than 10$. I was NOT told this when I inquired about service. While making payment the person told me they charge fee on credit card. I felt embarrassed as I did not have cash upfront and I had to scroll through my bag to collect 30$ cash. NEVER Go to this place like NEVER. The brown lady working over there is always in a rush and she even made a cut on my lip. I means that is the only rule of threading- do not make a cut!! I got a groupon for this place for a bikini wax. I didn't like my wax because the normal girl wasn't there (out on maternity), but I got my eyebrows threaded and I LOVED IT!! Both girls I have gone to have been great. However, I had an older lady do my wax and it hurt more than any other wax (and I have had a lot). Bought a $25 Groupon for a Brazilian wax and got what I paid for. Extremely unprofessional, hardly spoke English and had little customer service skills. She was laughing when she was waxing me; afterwards I bleed so hard it went through my jeans. I was thumb all over for a over a week (this was like my tenth wax). She didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. Didn't except credit cards so I had to leave my wallet there and drive to ATM which she didn't tell me about on the phone. TECHNICIANS AREN'T LICENSED PROFESSIONALS!! First off, I arrived 15 mins before my appt (groupon brazilian) time and didn't mind waiting for the only technician working there to finish up what she was doing. However, 15 mins after I arrived, another client came in for brow waxing and I once again was asked to wait so she can take care of the lady that just walked in. Now, let me say that I am a licensed cosmetologist EDUCATOR, so I know all about waxing, and I get brazilians pretty often-just keep reading. When it was my turn to go back, the technician escorted me to the room and watched me undress. (Wierd). She didn't eas her hands so I asked her to wash them before she starts. When she started' the wax was VERY HOT!! Now, I don't do Brazilians on others, but I do know that you have to apply wax in small sections to avoid too much discomfort. She damn near yanked my whole VAG off! She double dipped the stick she used on my VAG back into the wax which I now realize she does it all the time (HUGE VIOLATION-DO U KNOW HOW MANY DISEASES COULD BE SPREAD THAT WAY??). After she waxed my VAG over and over in the same places, I asked her where she was trained for waxing. THIS WOMAN HAS NO IDEA ABOUT THE SANITATION AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS that are MOST important in this industry!! After my wax I felt like a layer of my skin was stripped away and my VAG felt raw and irritable for days. Thank god for diaper rash cream!! I bought a Groupon for Microbrassion facial it was the worst place and worst experience i ever went to. The services was treatment was only 10min and the Anesthesia she was horrible. The room was very cold i was shriving under a blanket. The diamond tip used on the face was too coarse and by the time i was finished my face was all red . I feel like i was not part of their culture that is why i get this kind of services? I would not recommend any one goes there unless you are India then you get better treatment than i. I came here because I got a great deal on a Brazilian wax. when I first arrived, I asked if they could do my brows also. A younger pregnant woman did my brows first, and did a fine job. Then the other woman, an older woman, did my brazilian. I can not stress enough how horrible it was. I've had a number of brazilians at a number of salons, but i've never experienced one so horrible. This place really should not be allowed to be offering this service. It was much more painful than it needed to be, had her technique been correct. She maybe only got 30% of the hair out, the rest broke off and left me with stubble. Then she tried going over the same areas multiple times to remove the hair that broke, a complete waste of time and a great way to damage the skin, since hair thats a millimeter or two in length is not going to be grabbed by the wax. I was still sore from it the next day, and left with horrible bumps and stubble. It would have been a complete waste of time and money, but really, it was more than that, because of the amount of pain I endured to get results worse than shaving.
