What a cute little university coffee shop! I met a friend for lunch here, and I didn't realize it would have so much seating. It was packed around noon on a weekday, and I was grateful she got there early to grab a table. I ordered an iced matcha latte and the chicken caesar wrap! The matcha wasn't my favorite, but the wrap was good and filling. The chicken tasted fresh, and the kettle chips served on the side added a nice crunch. We've been here many times since we live so close. The drinks are good, although slightly pricey. Chocolate chip cookie was just okay (looks better than it tastes). Avocado toast was great! This location is typically pretty busy but the staff do their best to get your order out to you quickly! Also, love that they expanded so there's a lot more seating. read more

I had morning coffee/breakfast twice at this place while on a short visit in Nashville. It's a very cool spot and a great place to work or hang out with a nice vibe. I was not super impressed with their drip coffee on my first try there, and the blueberry muffin was good, but extremely sugary and too sweet. I cannot evaluate their espresso based drinks but it would probably have been a better choice than their regular coffee which I found somewhat bitter. On my second visit I opted instead for the fruit toast and some green tea and had a much better experience. The toast was fantastic and the green tea excellent with attention to service (see photo). They have several interesting and original breakfast items on the menu and I would recommend trying these instead of the baked pastries. I come here every single day and whoever works there on Sundays (female with short straight hair) is incredibly RUDE. As regulars, we've only ever had a positive experience and when I asked her for a particular drink that I literally get every single day (no problem) and she just rudely refuses to do it (I even offered to pay EXTRA just to have her make a 12 ounce drink but in an 8 ounce cup- are you seriously gonna push back on that?), sorry but what a power trip you're on and what a kind way to treat your regulars who live in the neighborhood. Whatever happened to going that extra mile for regulars in the first place? So over Nashville and the lack of hospitality in this industry. Unbelievable how much this town has changed. read more

Food great:avocado toast has cream cheese also-if you don't like spicy ask for it without crushed red pepper flakes. It was good/not great. I like a lot of avocado with some red onions and salt...extra stuff is fine. Bacon/egg bagel was really good, meant to get the biscuit but next time I will. The highlight was the fruit toast!!! This is a noisy place so it's not the best for conversation. And it's sometimes hard to find a table though people are willing to share. The prices are a bit high, but the food is good. I had a plain London Fog and it was pretty weak. There was no tea bag so I don't think it was steeped long enough. read more

The Well is a non profit coffee house with coffee and food offerings (as well as a handful of hot teas). It's nice to have a wide range of food options for gluten free eaters at a cafe like this, since I often find myself limited to a GF muffin or salad. Nearly every item on the breakfast and lunch menu at the Well can be modified to be gluten free. The menu is marked gluten free, so it's extremely easy to order. I opted for the Honey Bee, a biscuit with sausage, egg, and honey. The gluten free biscuit here is a sweet potato biscuit. I really liked the sausage, the rosemary garnish, and the honey drizzle, but the GF sweet potato biscuit was a bit dry. I know- it's hard to get a gluten free biscuit perfect, but I think I'd opt for a similar dish that was more of a skillet with sweet potatoes and eggs and no biscuit. I also ordered the Cozy Sweater Latte, which had a nice blend of honey and cinnamon and beautifully frothed milk. This is a great place for remote work, it's quiet and has free wifi. Park along the street in the angled spots- but be aware of the 2 hour parking limit. I'm planning to come back with my laptop on a rainy afternoon, but I might choose a different menu item. I'd be curious to try their pour over coffee as well, since I know they ethically source their beans directly from farms. Also, of note: the Green Hills location has a small stage and hosts regular writers rounds and singer songwriter nights advertised on small flyers around the cafe. There looked to be about 8 in March. It looks like mostly Christian artists but not exclusively. read more

A great spot for a quick laptop session or a caffeine break. I stopped in here to do both and get caught up on a few phone calls. I went with the iced americano and the avocado toast with an added an egg. The espresso was delicious and super smooth. Most places offer up bitter espresso with a not so good aftertaste, but the Well Coffeehouse does it right! The avo toast was good, but pretty basic. The egg is a must if you order this brekkie option. This location has a full on stage for live music and two separate areas to sit and sip coffee. The parking here is tough, but there's an entire parking area in the back with access to coffee shop. If I'm in the neighborhood, I'll definitely hit this place up again! read more

I stumbled upon The Well Coffeehouse while out on a Sunday morning. I was in the Green Hills area and was searching for a coffee shop to kill some time. I was able to park out front on the street and was greeted right when I walked in. After browsing the menu, I decided to try the spicy snowman (I think that's what it was called). It was a white mocha with cinnamon, and it was pretty good. The cinnamon was a bit much for me, but the flavors did work well together. Overall, nice service and good coffee! read more

This Coffee Oasis is located directly across from Lipscomb University in Nashville. Was a random stop-off while trooping around the Civil-War Historical sites in the area. The entire crew is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable about their coffees. Ordered a lightly roasted Burundi pour-over known as INYAMBO with an absolutely incredible aroma steaming over citrusy flavor characteristics of Cranberry, Lemon and Chocolate which easily shine through the coffee and hit your palate. Light, Refreshing and full of flavor. This is a lighter profile coffee that is excellent for folks who don't want to be overwhelmed by a darker, more robust (and typically bitter) flavor, while appealing equally to coffee snobs who enjoy the nuances and flavor profiles found in a milder, light roast. 6 STARS! My husband and I came here on a recommendation from a friend, boy are we so glad we did! We got iced lattes that are delicious! The gluten free chocolate chip muffin was better than some normal gluten ones that I've had--very generous on their chocolate chips too. The new gluten free sourdough bread was incredible! My husband had it on a turkey bacon pesto sandwich while I had a bagel sandwich. There are tons of coffee ground types available for purchase and some cute souvenirs as well. Love their mission, and love their food and coffee! Their turkey chipotle sandwich is AMAZING. So good on a rainy day. Their breakfast biscuit sandwich with sausage, egg, and honey is perfectly sweet and savory. And their espresso! Amazing. I had their Wake Up, which is seasonal. It's a cuban with blackberry and lavender flavor. So many coffee places dont quite nail flavor, but The Well does! You could taste everything, and it just worked together. Underwhelmed. Stopped here prior to a spa day to get some coffee and pastries/small breakfast. I'll start with the good: 1. nice atmosphere with plenty of seating in an open space for work or dining with someone. 2. Our coffee beverages were OK. The bad: 1. Food was terrible. Lacked flavor, even minor salt was not used. We ordered the bagel with egg, cheese and bacon. They didn't melt the cheese and the bagel wasn't fresh. The egg within it was bland as hell. My boyfriend ordered the avocado toast. It was tiny & lacked flavor. We were disappointed, especially after tipping for little customer service too. They didn't give us ample silverware, had to get up repeatedly to ask for things (eg silverware, our sweet potato biscuit--which was dry and lukewarm when served). I see why it's popular spot for college students but for well-established folks who actually enjoy a good coffee shop with great service AND food & beverages; the is ain't the place. Also, one of the ladies behind the counter wasn't friendly at all when I told her about my allergy. Didn't even acknowledge me. Not revisiting for sure. Hate wasting $. read more

I like The Well. It is stupid cute and such a nice place to get work done. I like their food and drink, but find the pricing a bit outrageous. I quickly got over that when I had their hot chocolate though. Still, when you're a student, pricing is everything. But, again, I go to MTSU, a public state institution, not Lipscomb, private college. I mention Lipscomb because The Well is conveniently located across from their campus. Heck, it is basically on the campus. Parking is a bit difficult. They offer parking in the back of the coffee shop along with other strip mall parking in the front. Problem is, some shops will tow you car if you park in them and there is no signage to specify for such. AKA park in the wrong spot and you might be SOL when you are done with being at The Well. Customer service is nice. Never any complaints there. Plus, their place is clean! Generally the noise level is a little elevated, but if you can bring your headphones, that will drown out the noise. People will meet up here for lunch, coffee date, or simply students working on their homework for a change of environment. It is a nice place and I like it here. The Well donates proceeds to clean water in poor countries or something like that. Anyway, that is where the name comes from. read more
