If you're driving down Locke St. in Hamilton, you'll likely find action around West Town no matter the time of day. From a food perspective, West Town is bustling in the mornings with patrons looking to eat some of their favourite breakfast dishes in a relaxed and homely atmosphere. At night, West Town turns into a busy little venue with younger patrons looking to indulge in a beverage or two. It's a bit of an odd twist to have an establishment that offers a breakfast menu that resonates strongly with citizens of west Hamilton, while also attracting a good turnout in the evening hours for beers and appetizers. If you're in and around west Hamilton and Locke street at any point in the day and are looking for a good, simple meal or a beer at night, be sure to check out West Town.

    Large breakfast and oatmeal.

I've ate here many times. Both for breakfast and dinner. Big breakfast is quite large and has a nice variety. The oatmeal is thick and filling. The poutine is good so are the nachos. The wings are decent. My only real complaint is the inconsistence with quality. I often get the same breakfast and every time it's different. Sometimes the pancakes are under cooked and sometimes are eggs are cold. Then there's times where it's perfect.... Just renovated for the windows to slide in to have the dining open to beautiful Locke st.

    A few pints!!!

Have been coming here for a long time. The atmosphere is always good, waitresses are friendly (easy on the eyes too) and the beers keep flowing. If you're looking for a good time out and eat good food, this is the place to be. I make sure that every time I'm down from North Bay I visit this establishment. Drink on, party on!

Jerk chicken and Oven baked chicken. Both are amazingly delicious. Sweet veggies with savoury rice.

Super friendly staff. The food was so delicious - tastes like it was homemade. A surprising find. Will come back again.

Food was ok. Portion size on the small size. Went there for breakfast. Eggs Benedict were average.

Nonetheless, they do have a few sandwich options and are open at lunchtime as well. I went back to back days. Day one was the smash burger and I got 50/50 with salad and curly fries which is a nice option. The next day I did the Nashville fried chicken sandwich with the same sides. Everything was very fresh and tasted very good. Both sandwiches perhaps were missing a bit of an X factor that would have me telling people it's an absolute must visit. For example, the smashburger probably could've been a bit more savoury (even greasier) to be a true smashburger, and the Nashville chicken spice level was pretty mild. All that said, it was made fresh and very tasty too, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone either. And like I said, I didn't even try the breakfast items which is the main part of the restaurant anyway.

Favorites include the arugula chick pea and black bean salad with jalenepeno pesto, any of their baked goods and sweets as well as their pizza. I LOVE that their pasta dishes feature Artie's handmade pasta (the best!) - but honestly was a little chewy recently with the pasta dish I got - could have gone for another minute. The standout for us was the desert - holy cow!! The Really Really Fudgey Brownie was UNREAL!! Sooo good. Service is friendly and helpful; you can tell the employees like their jobs, which helps the food taste even better. Their somewhat recent makeover and rebrand gives the restraunt a slightly more upscale feel which I'm not mad about. I love that you can dine outdoors as well, and bring your dog if you wish.

I sent it back for another one that came out raw as well, we had the second one put back in the oven and took it to go. I should have looked more closely at it before leaving, because when I was home I found the crust was still raw and inedible. It was the first and only time I have ever had to send food back at a restaurant. Our server relayed a message from the kitchen suggesting we request our pizza "well done" in future.

Immaculate vibe, but the food was always just ok, and I remembered it was always expensive. This time I got the chicken waffle. It's a sweet waffle topped with one fried chicken thigh & sweet tangy gochujang and a fried egg. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but I wouldn't say it was a big portion like what you'd get from a traditional diner place. It was 24 dollars - so over 30 dollars after tax and tips. It's kinda wild just to think about it... My partner got the Electric Benny - same thing, it was a lot pricier than other diners with the same amount of food. I think 25 dollars for 2 eggs, a slice of fried French toast and some avocado & home fries was pricy. In addition, she got drip coffee on the side which was almost like 6 dollars after tax - that's a crazy price for diner drip coffee. Her basic, mid diner breakfast meal with a moderate portion size came down to almost 35 dollars. To me that's unacceptable. The service was fine. But yeah, I hope electric diner can adjust the pricing in some way...last time I checked, people in Hamilton were not millionaires.
