    Lounge Hours

I visit the Richmond area often and usually stay at the Marriott downtown or the one in Shortpump, but this time opted for this Westin. This is a very nice property, in decent shape, clean, well-maintained, and fairly decent service. My room was comfy and nicely maintained, everything worked fine too. They have a concierge lounge on the 7th floor, which I checked out the first night I was here and it wasn't impressive at all. Lacked decent selection of snacks, having only a few bags of potato chips and nothing else. There was a lady sitting in there watching TV who I think was the bartender for their snack/bar hours. Aside from that and the mediocre service at the bar, I'd definitely return in the future.

What an amazing experience staying at this hotel!! The staff was very friendly and the decor inviting. The room was clean and spacious with a nice lounge on our floor. The bed was soooooo comfortable, and it was very quiet. I definitely recommend staying there!!

Solid hotel in the Richmond area with good amenities, great staff and comfortable stay. Things I enjoy about this hotel: - they have a designated club lounge for my elite bonvoy members which is nice - the staff is top notch!! I've stayed a few times and have always had such a great experience with everyone - there's a decent gym and indoor pool on the property - it's pet friendly!! Was able to bring my pup and he was greeted with so much love (even though my pup is not a fan of being in new places) - free and ample parking - cute walking trail on the side of the hotel which is nice for my pup or for a quick evening walk after a long day So why the 4 stars: - overall rooms could use some upgrades. It's a tad bit dated

3.75 rounded up to 4 I had a great four-night stay at this hotel for a conference. The hotel was very quiet on my floor (6th) so I got some much-needed restorative sleep! The conference was run smoothly in several of the conference rooms there. Perfect venue for a conference. If you choose this hotel, it is convenient to have a car because if you want to dine out or go shopping (e.g., Short Pump Town Center which I believe has decent shopping is a little over 10 minutes away and a Walmart is less than 1/2 a mile away). My only complaints were that one of the two main elevators was frequently out of service (this may have been due to the high number of conference guests). Also, the food prepared for our gala left much to be desired (particularly the steak). I would recommend a stay here, but recommend that patrons go offsite for food. Also, request a lower floor if you can in case there is an elevator issue. (I didn't think to do this and ended up taking six flights of stairs on one occasion when another conference goer was stuck on one of the elevators).

Located in a quiet safe are that is within driving distance to most attractions. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Beds are cozy. Lobby is spacious with a bar and great seating. I. House restaurant is great for breakfast. Their is a great Mexican restaurant within walking distance. Overall a great place with all the amenities that you need.

This place is more like 3.5 stars. First and far most, when I think of Westin, I think luxury, glam... this place missed the mark. While the lobby and restaurant are nice, the rooms are super dated. So dated, that I had to Google how long has this location been open... since 2008. My oh my...the rooms have aged and after 10 years a face lift is needed. I tell ya looking in from the outside you would think this is superstar status up in here, but looks are very deceiving. Once I entered our KING room, I was super disappointed. Although the room was tidy, it did not give a Westin warmth or an inviting smell as with other stays at this chain. The staff was pleasant from check-in/check-out to those working at the restaurant. One staff member stood out, Raymond. He waited on me/us on Saturday early evening. He was super informative about the menu and engaged in conversation with us. He was also the bartender and was on point throughout the night. A super pleasant demeanor. The fitness center was perfect and spacious. The pool was nice! Very warm, I love warmth! Not sure why the whirlpool was off limits, but overall the amenities were working including the media center. The lobby was decorated nice as well. The parking wasn't an issue and it's FREE. There is an outside area, where one can dine or just enjoy the great outdoors, a nice touch. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you are not sold on looks alone. The beds were comfortable. We had a handicap accessible room. Therefore, we had an enclosed shower, nice! Ice machines were on each floor. The hallways and elevators, spacious and tidy. I only noticed one elevator section, but was told there were others. It's just the outdated look of the rooms that has my brow raised. But check them out - the hotel is located on the outskirts of Broad Street - not the downtown scene - very nice area and shopping and eateries are all around. Have fun and enjoy life :)

Ask the Community - The Westin Richmond

Hi I would like to know if you have a room with chairs set up for a small gathering ( banquet room or conference room)??? I also have 2 guests that will be staying overnight.

We do have a Boardroom that accommodates up to 12 people. It would be best for you to contact the hotel at 804-282-8444 and ask to speak with a Catering Manager to review availability and costs. Thank you for your interest.

Additionally, Executive Club level is the only floor that includes a hot continental breakfast, which was just what I needed before a long drive home.

Despite having a…read morereservation and the restaurant having numerous empty tables, the host actually checked our IDs to prove we weren't lying about our name. I've had reservations in major cities around the world and have never been ID'd for a table--especially not at a casual spot like this. From there, they automatically tacked on a 20% service fee for essentially a DIY dining experience. Once the server dropped off our food, she disappeared completely, leaving us to fetch our own drink refills and making the automatic markup feel entirely unearned. The food was just as low-effort. My bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was basic and came with no hot sauce options. My daughter's kid's spaghetti had a watery sauce that slid right off the noodles. The pear and prosciutto pizza was basically a lackluster flatbread, and it even arrived with a torn piece of a Piancone wrapper sitting right on top that the server completely missed. To finish it off, we had to switch tables immediately because our picnic table was filthy underneath, complete with bugs crawling up through the wood planks. Between the weird host interrogation, poor hygiene, lazy food, and unjustified fees, I'd highly recommend spending your money elsewhere.

Seriously everything from the staff, to the food,…read moreto the drinks, the energy, and all of the accommodations... we could not have asked for a better evening!! Food wise - you MUST get the burrata e focaccia. Before heading to the airport we literally came back and ordered another one to go because we were all still craving it. For back story, we were a party of 19 (yes nineteen, so sorry!) and we accidentally made the online reservation for Saturday instead of Friday like we planned. We called the day of, and the host was so so kind and helped us still come on our friend's birthday Friday evening. Even though it was pouring all weekend, we had an awesome table set up out on the back patio which was covered, decorated, and had heaters going. It was so beautiful and comfortable despite the cold front. The service was phenomenal. Extra shoutout to Patrick and all of the bussers/food runners who helped our table. He gave us lots of food and drink recommendations and did not disappoint! Again, the burrata was amazing. Our favorite pizzas were also the pear & proscitto and the stakki Jo (with added hot honey). Will definitely be back if we are ever back in Richmond! xx

When my husband and I arrived the night before to drop off our items, my cousin who rented the hall had not yet arrived. She was still picking up last minute items. The owner and her son were there. The owner introduced herself and said she was leaving but her son whom she introduced would be there. He would be on the other side doing a photo shoot. She said we could go in and drop off the items. We asked if we could stay to wait for my cousin. She agreed. I called my cousin to see how soon she would be arriving. Not long after, my other cousins arrived to set everything up. She asked if I could help by putting the tablecloths on the tables. I started putting the tablecloths on them and noticed how dirty the tables were. I politely asked the owners son if we were responsible for cleaning the tables or were they? I emphasized politely because I didn't want to come across as rude or condescending. After all we needed a place for the next day. He shrugged his shoulders. I then found some cleaning supplies and began cleaning the tables. I couldn't believe how filthy they were and pointed this out to the owner son. To which he replied "well aren't you covering them with tablecloths?" I explained that wasn't the point. I could visibly see that he wasn't pleased with me pointing out the filth. While cleaning the tables I noticed that some of the chair covers were very stained, one had a bright red stain and others were just stained With dirt spots. I showed this to the cousin that was there setting up. My husband joined in with helping clean the tables so I could put the tablecloths on them to speed up things. That's when we both noticed the dirty floors. That included a dead roach and some cake.We had already noticed earlier that the carpet on the platform was filthy. My husband nicely asked for a broom and the owner son stated that he had swepted the floor. My husband pointed out that it was still dirty and showed him the dead bug. The owner son replied with "oh that's just a water bug". My husband said " nobody wants to see a dead bug on the floor when eating". The owner son replied with " we rent all the time and we sweep our floors!" My husband then pointed out the cake on the floor and I said the floor where I was standing had stuff on it as well. To which he replied " we'll keep in mind that you track stuff in upon entering the building and we need to check our energy"! My husband pointed out the fact the we didn't bring cake into the building. I pointed out that my other cousins entered the building at the other end of the room therefire they couldn't track anything down the end where we were standing inside the building. I then replied that " our energy is in check, in fact it was his energy that changed after I pointed out that the tables were filthy earlier". He then continued to say " check your energy, we should be uplifting each other." I replied that "I support my people but I also expect the same excellent service from my people that I would expect from any other race!" He told me again to "check my energy". My husband then reiterated that it was his energy that needed to be checked and pointed out that his demeanor is showing in the way he was sweeping the floor". My cousin who rented the hall arrived. I informed her of the situation and she said "oh that's what his mom was talking about when she called my sister asked her who was there giving her son a hard time." So instead of the owner asking about our concerns she cared more about her grown son feelings. She NEVER once addressed the concerns of the people renting the hall. And her son never completed sweeping. I do not recommend this place at all! If you do be sure that your contract includes cleanliness and maintenance/up keep of the floor that is in desperate need of waxing prior to your event. Parts of the ceiling panels are also in need of repair. You have been forewarned!
