Ashley is great, she makes the place what it is. The true backbone of The Black Clover, love it!!read more

We had a strange family reunion of sorts with two cousins, the kids that grew up next door and our…read moreneighbors housekeeper, Hazel. Yes, that is her real name. Being that 7/8 of the group is Irish they settled on the Black Clover. On a Saturday night. Yikes! First, know that Erin and Michael (prolly best call him Mike) are a blast. They are a party in and of themselves. I'll dub them the best bartenders in BC (tonight anyway). Anytime there's Guinness on tap there's a distinct possibility that we close the joint. If I could've and I was single, I would've. The whole atmosphere was over-the-top-Irish-pub. The prices were reasonable and the entertainment was so good, it this side of illegal. I would stack this place up against in pub in the states. The crazy thing was while we were whooping it up in one area, there were still several tables that were very quiet and intimate. I asked a few of these folks to let us know if we were too loud and they claimed not to notice us. Nice acoustics! Everything we ate was a solid five stars. The bar was clean and cozy. At one point I remember my cousin Jackie asking Michael for job, then telling him it was some form of entrapment to offer all the varieties of beer and whisky. When Hazel grabbed a bar towel and started cleaning and busing, then fell flat, it was time to leave. So we payed the bill, overtipped, and piled into Georgie's suburban. On these missions, lucky George eats for free and all the soft drinks or iced teas are on us. He ends up carrying the irresponsible ones to their rooms! 5 stars Black Clover! 08/22

We had an excellent work dinner at The Twisted Cork and an even better time afterwards. Every…read moresingle interaction we had with the staff was incredible; from the waitstaff taking orders and clearing food, management looking into gluten free options, and of course, the bartender who managed to find something perfect for everyone as we started ordered speciality cocktails. The food was great, from appetizers to mains, and our beverages were all great. We stayed well into the evening, when the music turned up, and really enjoyed the switch from mood-lighting dining to the perfect place to unwind. The salmon stuffed chicken breast was the best gluten free dish I've had in a while! My celiac colleague and I both had it and were very pleased. While there aren't a ton of GF options on the menu, what they do have, they do well.

I will say, if for anything the staff are worth the visit. Meaghan, Mike and Victoria are AMAZING…read more Because of them I made two visits to The Twisted Cork. They have a decent wine selection from BC and a menu that is sure to please any palate. The menu changes, but honestly, whatever you order is full of flavor. I ordered their grilled salmon on a bed of tagliatelle with grilled asparagus. The temperature was good, seasoning was a touch heavy BUT in no way effected my enjoyment of the dish. $38 very worth it. Over the two evenings I spent with The Twisted Cork let's just say I took a little tour of Mike's signature cocktails and I was in foodie Bliss. My favorite was his Elderflower Basil Sour. It was a mix of complex flavors that came together to make an amazing cocktail. Overall, I sampled six of his signature cocktails and learned about the how and why he developed them. His an amazing mixologist. I Highly recommend The Twisted Cork and will def return if I ever find myself in Prince George again
