I had a death in the family and needed to (last minute) reschedule the initial consult for cat care - Daria was flexible and understanding. We then adopted a dog and setup to meet for both a cat care and dog walking consult. Daria is very friendly, asks great questions, and is easy to talk to. She also calmly went through our entire consult while my dog was howling at her. Our dog got into some raisins and Daria was very understanding about needing to cancel dog walking (our girl ended up having to stay in the hospital). She even texted me outside of the StrutnPup app to ask how our girl was. StrutnPup uses an app which makes scheduling and communicating easy. Daria always sends a photo and update on the walks she does with our dog. Communication is great with StrutnPup: Daria started out being our dog's walker for the first couple of months. She was very forthcoming about training one of her walkers to take over and is doing a few walks where the walker shadows her before letting him takeover.

We trust our dog with them and have actually seen some great improvements in his walking behavior since we started regular walks. Highly recommend. It is also great seeing the walk on the GPS and seeing pictures of his happy face on the walk.

His prices are completely reasonable, and he sends me a note and pictures of both cats during each visit. He has even been able not only to lure my skittish one out of hiding with treats, but she lets him pet her. He's one of maybe 6 or 7 people on the planet she'll allow to touch her. For me to be able to focus on the medical issues in my family and not worry about my angels is fantastic. I miss them like crazy when I'm gone, but I know they are in Josh's very capable hands.

Jason and Gaby have been our daily walkers for over a year and a half and are really perfect for our girls. Each day, the girls are walked 30 mins in the neighborhood. It is the best part of their day! Jason reinforces good habits and control over excitable dogs. I appreciate that he helps train them and gives lots of affection to both. Gaby is also very great with them. I like how they leave notes on how the walks went every time, including when they went to the bathroom and when they got treats. Communication is excellent and they are very flexible in working with our schedule. Best of all, they really connected with both us and our dogs. JC Dog Walkers are BY FAR the best dog walkers we have ever had in the life of our dogs (who are 6 years)!!

Gaby and Jason are so wonderful! I can't recommend them highly enough…read more It has been mainly Jason walking our dog who is sweet but reactive. Our dog is always excited when he comes to walk him. And we are always at ease since Jason knows how to manage his reactive tendencies. We consider him a trainer as much as a dog walker since he reinforces good behavior on their walks. Gaby is very responsive and makes arranging walks and dog sitting stays so convenient for us. They have been flexible when we have had to make changes and are just so easy to work with. I think it can be hard to find someone who is good with dogs and can manage the business side of things. Gaby and Jason are excellent at both. We only wish that we had found them earlier! A number of our neighbors also have Gaby and Jason walk their dogs. The dogs vary in size and temperament and Gaby and Jason are great with all of them. We all agree that they are the best!

We have been with Happy Dog since 2006! I first heard of Mike McRae when I was out in the…read moreneighborhood walking our dog, Porter, and a complete stranger recommended him to me. A few weeks later, our vet recommended him. Our dog was about 6 months old at the time, so Porter has "grown up" with him. When Porter was a puppy, Mike was instrumental in guiding us through the training process and putting us in touch with a great trainer. He even came over for some of that training, so that he and I were on the same page with respect to setting boundaries, etc. We've even boarded Porter with Mike when we've gone on vacation or away for weekends. Right before we left for vacation a couple of years ago, Porter had to have emergency surgery. Mike took care of him while he was recovering, which included taking him to the vet to have his staples removed. We stayed with Happy Dog when Joy took over the business. She continued running the business with all the love, trust, and professionalism that we had come to expect from Mike McRae. Though we were sad to say goodbye to her, we were thrilled when Mike returned. Mike McRae is wonderful and we feel that he is part of our family. And, Porter loves him too.

My dog Violet was stressed being alone all day while I work (trying-to-dig-her-way-out-of-my-condo kind of stressed). Cassandra and her daycare set-up ended being the perfect fit. When she had Violet and I come over for an introduction, Violet relaxed quickly and made herself at home on Cassandra's sofa, just like she'd do at home. I found that Cassandra is a delight to work with: she's very communicative and responsive and willing to accommodate special requests where she can. I was nervous about Violet's first day because she didn't love another, larger day care that I tried, but Cassandra sent me pictures of a happy dog before I had even gotten to my office. These days, Violet can't wait to get inside to see her friends. This is a dog who used to need to know where I was at all times and would never choose to go with someone else if I was there. Now she doesn't even look back at me when I drop her off. And I love that.
