Okay let's go down the list! I arrived at 5:15pm on a Sunday roughly 15 people were in here…read more Cleanliness: very clean no smell no mess on the floor tables were cleared promptly. Plates cups and silverware were all clean no dishwasher spots etc. Service: our waitress was Mai very beautiful young lady with great service. she was very good not up in our business attentive but more watched us from a distance to see if we needed anything. A bit soft spoken so sometimes hard to hear. Overall very good. Drinks: our drinks were water and sweet tea. Drinks were good water tasted like clean tap water and no hint of another soda or alcohol like you find at some other places. Sweet tea was good sweet but not overbearing and nice and cold. Now to the part everyone cares about food. Food: we got the chips and guacamole, fajita beef tacos and lemon pepper wings. Chips and guacamole: ACTUALLY TASTED FRESH not stored in a freezer or fridge, good mix of jalapeños lime and salt. Chips were salty but not warmed. A little stale but not horrible. Only thing I will complain about is the fact that it was like an ice cream scoop of guacamole in a big bowl that was mostly filled with shredded lettuce. The lettuce was fresh but we bought chips and guacamole not chips and lettuce. So the ratio was very off. Tacos: the beef fajita tacos were good. The meat was tender and soft and a little juicy. Onions are placed on the side but cilantro was placed on top. Was served with a side of green sauce. Bone in wings: lemon pepper wings were nice and hot and very juicy but not super greasy. The seasoning wasn't a lot but it was a good amount. Served with a side of ranch. Overall we will definitely be returning and would come here anytime over twin peaks or hooters.

Water Street Oyster Bar is one of those places where the story is as much about what it used to be…read moreas what it is today. Growing up and into my twenties, this felt like one of the nicer restaurants in Corpus Christi. It had a more upscale atmosphere than most places around town, and the menu was extensive. It didn't matter what you ordered because it was all good. Some of my favorite memories are sitting at the oyster bar with my parents whenever friends or family came to town, eating freshly shucked oysters while everyone else enjoyed colorful cocktails. Those days feel like they're gone. The menu has been reduced to a single page and now looks a lot like what you'll find at just about any seafood restaurant along the Gulf Coast. The biggest issue isn't the quality. The food is still consistent, and the service has remained reliable. It just doesn't feel unique anymore. The sense that this was a special destination has faded, and that's the part I miss most. That said, the location is still great, the restaurant is always clean, and the bartenders continue to be one of its biggest strengths. They've always been knowledgeable, make excellent drinks, and add a lot to the experience. I genuinely hope this place finds some of the character that made it special years ago. I'll always have a soft spot for it because of the memories, and I'd love to see it become a destination again instead of just another seafood restaurant.

This is a beautiful bar. In the past, we have sat there and had fresh oysters and drinks.
