This is hands down one of my favorite local bars! The staff is always so welcoming, and the atmosphere just feels like home. If you're new to the area, I definitely recommend stopping in for a bite and meeting some of the locals. Everyone is friendly, easy to talk to, and you'll feel like you've been coming here for years. Whether you come with a group or by yourself, you'll fit right in. I also have to give a shoutout to Gabe, Hannah, and Morgan--they're my favorite bartenders and always make the experience even better. And Marc absolutely kills it in the kitchen. It's a very unique atmosphere, where I felt I needed a secret handshake,at first. But they were packed, people pleasant, charamastic band and DELICIOUS, reasonably priced food. Could definitely use a larger kitchen and a second bartender, as they became packed. Definitely recommend. read more

I was really excited to try this place, food pictures looked great and menu items were just what we were looking for. The exterior did seem a little sketchy but per another review I didn't let that deter us and went in. Place is a cute dive bar but the two bartenders present had no interest in acknowledging us as patrons. My husband went up to the bar after we figured they were not coming to our table and asked for a menu. The bartender seemed to be surprised that we asked for a food menu and after handing him the menu went back to not acknowledging him. Didn't ask him for our drink order or make any other words with him. After seeing what type of service we were about to be into I called off my husband to not let him order anything and left as I was not interested in a place that did not have interest in providing basic customer service. read more

The only thing I should let people know is that they are not kidding when they say they are a Cajun food they are not kidding, they put a good amount of spice to almost everything so if you don't like spicy food or do not have a high tolerance, you should let them know. read more

I visited here since it was one of the highest rated restaurants/bars in all of Corpus. Luckily, it was not too far from my hotel. I looked over the simple menu and saw they have apps, tacos, sandwiches, and seafood. They have a handful of mostly local beers on tap, plus a small cocktail menu. This is a quintessential dive bar. I figured I would go with something safe, plus the cook said their burgers were fresh beef. They don't cook the patty to order, only well done here, but they will ask how you want the fried egg. I chose the bourbon street breakfast burger, since they also indicated the pulled pork was awesome. I also added a boudain link. How was the burger? It was really good, but the patty is pretty small, like 1/4 lb with the pulled pork overwhelming the taste...its a messy burger, which is why they give you a fork. I could also not taste the cranberry chipotle sauce that is supposedly on it. The boudain link didn't taste like a boudain at all. The skin had the crisp and snap of a smoked sausage. The menu says boudain, so I was a little disappointed there. The cocktail I ordered, the black mass, was the last one on the menu, and it was pretty strong. That's about the only thing I liked about it. Otherwise, I probably shouldn't have ordered a cocktail at a dive bar, so it's my fault The jukebox is great here, well the music playing was coming through on cable......but they were playing classic rock on a Monday night....late 60s and early 70s.....very easy listening stuff. read more

Went on a Tuesday night just looking to discover new places in town and eat good. Definitely a dive but that's what we were feeling. The fried shrimp were delicious as well as the sides that came with them. However, the burger my dad ordered was not good. The patty was clearly froze, it had a grainy texture to it, but that wasn't even the worst part: it was a plain burger and had a very weird taste. Almost like blue cheese. One of our favorite dark and divey gothy bars in all of Texas. We love the music (great mix of old punk, grunge, alt, goth, industrial, etc), beer selection, and cocktails. What a find - seriously, it's as if you're in a movie scene with live music on Friday nights... the blackened shrimp tacos are my absolute fave - however, the tuna is a close second. Definitely a dive/biker bar but the people are all super friendly. Bartenders are fast, friendly, and make great drinks. Everything is reasonably priced. The best part though is the food. Read previous reviews, and decided to give this dive bar a chance, best decision we've made on this trip thus far! Visited around 6:30pm on a Saturday night- we were surprised that there were not many people there- got a little nervous- shouldn't have been. The bar tender was amazing- we sat at a table about six feet from the bar- he started making my drink when he heard me tell my husband what I wanted. Totally friendly- didn't get any of that - side eye that you sometimes get in a dive bar if you aren't local. We ordered the Ahi wonton's for an appetizer. The tuna was perfect, seasoned, seared and very fresh. It was served on a bed of rough cut coleslaw, with some fresh jalapeño and spicy mayo on top. The wontons were perfectly crisp and seasoned with a light Cajun seasoning salt. For dinner my husband had the spicy burger (forgot the menu name) and he said it was terrific. I kept with tuna and had the Ahi Tuna sandwich. Just like the appetizer the tuna was perfect, the bun was buttered and toasted on both sides, and the egg on top had a perfect runny yolk. Super unassuming establishment; however, this place was awesome! There is a really big dive bar atmosphere if you're into that kind of thing. Dimly lit, pool table, small stage for live bands on the weekend. When I came in, there were 10 ladies and gentlemen having an 8-ball pool tournament which added immensely to the ambiance. The food here was incredible. I ordered the voodoo burger and bacon wrapped shrimp. I was blown away by the high quality of food in such a dingy looking place. Nice neighborhood bar with excellent food. While reading the menu, Cassie recommended the Blackened Voodoo Burger. I love this burger. It has bacon, braised onions, cheese, jalapeños and spicy mayo. Delicious! Plus they make their own chips. The full liquor bar is well stocked and has an eclectic vibe. While a couple regulars came in, I still felt welcomed which doesn't always happen in little bars. As much as I liked the burger, I have to go back to try the Shrimp Tacos.
