It was a mid-week holiday and they were busy. We sat inside and ordered a wine, beer and two appetizers. The service was fast and friendly, for ordering, delivery and providing the check. The pork belly with maple bourbon was perfectly cooked and the corn fritters were perfect little nickels of corn bread and corn with a lemon yogurt. The Sloop IPA was crisp and hoppy and the Federalist Red Blend B.B. aged wine was smooth and complex. $53 for lunch and we both left satisfied. Will be back! read more

The fried chicken is insanely good. The flavor choices are pretty dang good. Nashville hot chicken is actually hot and I appreciate that so much. The burgers are tasty and local beef. Pork belly appetizer is meat that melts in your mouth. I also get the Martha salad with grilled chicken and it is perfectly dressed. The staff is always friendly. Enjoy trivia on Wednesday's. I went here last summer twice! first time I got the Pop corn chicken so let me just say wow. This is a meal i still remember over six months later. : ) we ate outside and both the weather and food were great. So the ice cream tasted exactly like popcorn and went surprisingly great with the fried chicken & syrup. The next time i had to try the big bird also a memorable meal. I don't usually get this upset about a dining experience, especially post COVID... amid rising costs for both consumer and business, I don't expect the high quality, somewhat affordable dining experiencing of years past. I do, however, expect much better quality when I'm ordering pricey menu items which, upon reveal, my toddler could have cooked and presented better. I ordered vegan "chicken and waffles", in addition to many other pricey and unappetizing entrees, for take out and was appalled to discover two pale, flat, previously frozen (Eggo?) waffles beneath a thick, tough, dry slab of plant-based chicken. Two vegan sandwiches were also ordered with the same dry, plant-based chicken between a "very sturdy" (aka... rock hard and tough) roll. The kids hamburger was equally appalling in flavor, presentation, and quantity. A surprisingly soft and somewhat palatable bun contained the smallest amount of very flat, dry, overcooked hamburger without lettuce, tomato, or anything to make it even mildly more appetizing. I'm very disappointed in this dining experience because I hyped up last year's experience with my dining party who was very excited to have some vegan dining options in town only to be more than incredibly disappointed. The fries were good...and that's about all I enjoyed. Little shade to be had outside despite the umbrellas. Live music was excessively loud - I came to have dinner with friends and could barely hear a word they were saying. I got the pickle Rick sandwich, and it had the potential to be good, but the fried chicken was so greasy it soaked the bottom bun and left a big grease puddle in the plate. Chicken itself was fatty and unenjoyable. Never got a single drink refill. Waiter was MIA until they brought the bill, then they said thanks and goodbye before bringing the cards back. With so many other excellent options for restaurants in Sackets, I don't think I'll be coming back to this one. read more

I can't recommend this place enough. On a whim, we decided to forgo reservations at a fancier place to check out the Whiskey Coop. The service was friendly and attentive. The hot honey chicken salad was amazing and so was the chicken sandwich. With chicken sandwiches being everywhere these days, it's hard to stand out, but their chicken is nearly perfect. So glad we opted for here! I don't drink whiskey but the whiskey flights I saw were tempting! The atmosphere is casual and prices are fair. Can't wait to return! read more

Kudos to this restaurant for having a good variety of vegan options for Sackets Harbor, including desserts! The atmosphere is rustic and chill, and servers are always friendly. The main star, the buttermilk (and vegan) fried chicken, could have a bit more flavor/seasoning, but the crunchiness is on point. The sides hold their own and are fairly good. This used to be my favorite restaurant in the area... I was obsessed with one of their burgers called the Coltrain so I always came to get it and it was 5 star quality every time. On my most recent visit I would give the food 0 stars and the service 2 stars. I could not believe it - what happened to my favorite restaurant?! I chose a different burger and instead of being thick, juicy and flavorful like it used to be the patty was split into two thin, bland, DRY and overcooked pucks. It was so dry it turned to powder in my mouth!! I can't even remember the last time I had such a bad burger. I opted for the side salad like I always used to get with their homemade dressing that I was obsessed with. I swear the salad tasted like straight soap. Did they wash the lettuce with soap and not rinse it? I have had this dressing many times before and it used to be so good! I couldn't even choke it down even though I was super hungry. I didn't even get a chance to tell the waitress because she was not paying attention to us at all. It was a nice sunny afternoon and we were the only customers there so I think she just got distracted but we aren't people to holler at a waitress to get her attention so I just sat there and waited for my boyfriend to finish his food. I had an amazing time here a few weeks ago. My girlfriend and I came here for a date on a Wednesday. The food was good and their fried chicken does not disappoint. I personally got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and the chicken and then Alice were perfect. The best part of the night was when we accidentally found our way participating in trivia night. We had such a great time playing trivia and it made for a great experience. We stayed much longer than anticipated and ordered a few more drinks (which are also delicious; one of the best old fashions I've had). Honestly one of the best restaurants in the area, especially if you're bourbon lover like me. We've been here for brunch, lunch, AND dinner, and we've loved it every time. I'm asking my partner to get me one of their tshirts because I like it so much. We've gone here multiple times and it is WORTH the short drive from Watertown!!! The fried chicken? Excellent. It has my Southerner stamp of approval. I like to get the Dirty Bird or Chicken & Waffles, side of cajun corn or fries. The cocktails and selection of bourbon & whiskey? Unparalleled. My favorite when it's in season is the Autumn Smash. They tend to have excellent beers on rotation. I also have a soft spot for their Kentucky Derby Pie and bourbon banana bread pudding. I have been to this restaurant twice since they opened, and it immediately became my favorite restaurant in the whole area that is currently open. The outdoor seating area is lovely, the food is pretty good, and the drinks selection is unmatched. It's still pretty new and I know they are still working out some kinks, but they have been very open to suggestions to improve. Their outdoor seating area is large and socially distanced, and on weekends they have been hosting live music on the patio. Indoors they have dividers up between the tables as well. A word of warning, their dessert portions are huge, so be warned if you buy one just for yourself; you might want to share it. read more

The staff were so pleasant, friendly, but not over the top. It's "good" for Sackets Harbor or Watertown since there are limited options. I wouldn't recommend the vegan "chicken" it's very dry.
