We got lucky when we walked in on Christmas day without a reservation. Apparently they had issues with their booking feature (or so we were told by a lady on the street) so they were taking walk ins. Little bit of a wait to get orders, but when he came up he was apologetic for the wait and took our drink and food order all at once. I ordered the seasonal turkey dinner. My daughter ordered the maple pigs in a blanket and Christina ordered the chicken mushroom pie. All selections came out as ordered. The pig in a blanket was a sold mild sausage wrapped in bacon with a little maple syrup. Fantastic. The chicken mushroom pie was probably the best on the table. read more

Kid friendly!!! This is another pub underneath the Greene King umbrella. We visited another pub under the Greene king in Bath, UK ( Saracens head) and LOVED it. The Kings Arms did not disappoint. The menu is the same as the menu in Bath, UK but each pub is allowed to create their own, specials menu. Like all their pubs we visited so far, you're greeted with the classic, British/Victorian pub style. The service was prompt and friendly. And just like the Saracens Head, the food was fantastic. Having been in the UK for 3 weeks, I was craving a little bit of home, so I ordered the loaded nachos and they were amazing. Better than what I get in the states, although a much smaller portion. My wife got the Pulled Beef Rib Cottage Pie and it was very good too. I'm starting to believe that you can't go wrong with a pub under the Greene King umbrella if you're looking for great food and service. Restaurant is clean. Bathrooms are clean. Food is great. Service is great. I would come back here again and recommend this place if you're near the Buckingham Palace. read more

When we finally located any staff at all, they were friendly and the look of the place was charming , but that's really all that was positive about the experience. The steak and ale pie consisted of an over-large pre-made pastry casing filled with gravy and very little meat at all. The chicken Kiev was a dried up and, possibly, freezer burnt pre-crumbed fillet that was clearly microwaved with a slop of butter and (unlikely to be fresh) garlic on top. The inbuilt 'service fee' of 12.5% (the UK version of tipping) that had to be paid at time of order was also unwelcome as well as unwarranted, considering the above. read more

We alway end up at this pub when in London. Not sure why but this place conveniently pops up within sight when were out & about & feeling peckish. The pub on the main floor can get crowded quickly but no worries! There's a basement & upper floor with full bars & service. We've eaten on all levels & this time we headed upstairs because the basement was closed for lunch. We found a seat by the window which offered a view of the street & plenty of people watching. Pretty decent food, nice staff & a very nice selection of ales. Previous visits I opted for the fish & chips, really outstanding w/out being greasy. This time around I had the sausage roll, H opted for the Scottish egg. The sausage roll had more of a phyllo dough consistency instead of bread-y. A bit too much fennel on it but overall the roll was pretty good. H's Scottish egg was really tasty & cooked to perfection where the yolk was runny. Definitely a great place to stop by & convenient to Westminster Abbey, this is our go to place when we're hungry & our feet need a rest. read more

This was an absolute pleasure to stumble on as a tourist. Though it was lunch time on a weekday, it was packed with locals grabbing food and a drink on their lunch break. The Cask Beer was delicious (my favorite of any place I ordered it from), and the Steak & Ale Pie was outstanding. Also, their triple-cooked chips were perfect, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I love this place. The servers were friendly. We stayed in a flat nearby and had a drink here to end our night every night of our trip. I had a drink the day I finished the London Marathon and someone accidentally punted my glass across the street and it didn't break 10/10 on the survivability of the glass alone. read more

Nothing exceptionable but a decent pub in general. Can't go wrong with some fish & chips with mushy peas and a couple of pints of Seafarer's. The curry sauce that comes with the "big" fish & chips goes great with chips but I don't think it's worth the extra 2 quid. read more

During our 9 mile walk we were starving so we stopped at what appeared to be a busy pub. We were lucky to get a table upstairs as it was definitely a busy spot. The decor was very interesting. We appreciated the ordering method... All done on our phones including paying the bill which is quite convenient. The fish and chips was very tasty as was the tuna melt sandwich. The grilled ham and cheese however left a lot to be desired. I can't really comment on service because the only service is when they drop off your food at your table. This pub was literally an arms length away from our Airbnb and we arrived a bit late into London so we gave it a try. It was exactly what you'd expect from a Pub on a Tuesday night- The top floor was closed and on the bottom floor there was 1 really loud group of people chugging beers at one end and talking too loud about how "Americans" talk too much and ask way too many questions LMAO! #Truth -Then there were a few couples sipping beer and eating fish-n-chips. They didn't have available quite a few items on the menu so we asked.....What do you bloody have? (No, I didn't use bloody, lol) The bar tender replied, "Beer and fish-n-chips." Just off Piccadilly Road near the Sheraton, this pub is tucked down the street. We arrived after a long flight and checked in plus there was a football game going on. We left a returned about 20 mins to get a table for my family. Order at the bar for your drinks. Menu varied. Enjoyed the chicken mushroom pie, fish and chips and jacket potato. In the US we call that baked potato. Friendly service. Freshly prepared food. Average prices for the Mayfair area. Would return. Place emptied out once football over.
